    Examined on its own merits, Rock Band Blitz offers highly tuned rhythm matching fun, and the new approach to multipliers makes score chasing a blast. Harmonix has leveraged its obscenely large music library to boost the appeal of Blitz, and the game's draw may be directly proportional to how much previous money you've already invested in the series.

    Playing rock music with plastic instruments is old-fashioned, and that's why Harmonix gives you a Rock Band game that doesn't use these primitive tools. Instead you play notes with your controller and this is surprisingly fun. All instruments are well implemented and the fact that you can play ANY song from the massive Rock Band library is a feat in itself.

    This rhythm game isn't played with a plastic guitar, but rather with a regular controller. Since Blitz is all about hi-scores it is more akin to the PS2 game Amplitude or Rock Band Unplugged on the PSP. The number of available songs is a bit on the low side. [October 2012, p.78]

    It should've given us more of an excuse to keep playing by ourselves and the coin usage for power-ups is dumb, but the production values are high and playing just never gets old. And I can't seem to stop.

    I find Rock Band Blitz to be a very fun and addicting game.     Gli appassionati di Rhythm Game, orfani delle due serie regine Rock Band e Guitar Hero e in attesa dell'ambizioso Rocksmith, che potrebbeGli appassionati di Rhythm Game, orfani delle due serie regine Rock Band e Guitar Hero e in attesa dell'ambizioso Rocksmith, che potrebbe essere il nuovo messia in questo genere di giochi, non possono comunque avere di che lamentarsi in questo periodo perchè, dopo l'uscita dell'atipico Retro/Grade (di cui potete trovare QUI le nostre impressioni), mix riuscitissimo tra sparatutto e gioco musicale, adesso è la volta di Rock Band Blitz, primo titolo di Harmonix dopo lo sfortunato Rock Band 3 ed i due capitoli di Dance Central in esclusiva per Kinect.

    Rock Band Blitz è il primo episodio del franchise reso disponibile esclusivamente per le piattaforme di digital delivery di Xbox e Playstation e segna una sorta di ritorno alle origini per Harmonix: vale a dire a quei Frequency ed Amplitude, che sono stati delle vere e proprie pietre miliari del genere, usciti ormai un decennio fa per la gloriosa Playstation 2. Da questi due capisaldi, Rock Band blitz riprende a piene mani il gameplay, aggiungendo però delle interessanti novità. Caratteristica che farà sicuramente piacere a tutti coloro che hanno seguito la serie di Rock Band fin dagli albori è la possibilità di utilizzare anche in Rock Band Blitz tutti i brani degli episodi precedenti del franchise e quelli scaricati dallo store, oltre al fatto di poterli suonare anche con gli strumenti di Rock Band 3 oltre al pad, che in Blitz è lo strumento di default. Chi acquista Blitz come primissimo episodio del franchise, si troverà una scaletta di soli 20 brani originali selezionabili e dal livello di difficoltà crescente con cui potersi cimentare.

    Ma tuffiamoci nel menù di gioco e cimentiamoci nel tutorial, che ci insegna le basi del titolo: in Rock Band Blitz avremo a disposizione, tutte insieme, 4/5 tracce per ogni brano: batteria, basso, chitarra, voce e, saltuariamente, tastiere. Ogni traccia dispone di 2 "note": una a destra, suonabile con X (o A, a seconda della versione provata) o con lo Stick Destro, l'altra a sinistra, suonabile con una delle direzioni del D-PAD o con lo Stick Sinistro, mentre invece per passare da una traccia all'altra verranno utilizzati i dorsali sinistri o destri, a seconda della direzione in cui vogliamo spostarci. Ovviamente, avendo a disposizione tutte le tracce in contemporanea, sarà impossibile suonare tutte le note di tutti gli strumenti, ma dovremo scegliere la parte da suonare sia in base alla quantità di note disponibile per ogni traccia (più note suonate = più punti), sia per fare salire il moltiplicatore di ognuno degli strumenti, dato che ad un moltiplicatore più alto corrisponde, naturalmente un punteggio più alto; i moltiplicatori di ognuno degli strumenti concorrono ad aumentare quello generale, che viene "calcolato" nel momento in cui si attraversano i checkpoint sparsi per ogni singola canzone. Tutto ciò è sicuramente più facile a farsi che a dirsi e con un minimo di pratica, non risulta particolarmente difficile neanche per i giocatori meno esperti suonare in maniera sufficiente le canzoni proposte, dato che il Game Over non è contemplato e sarà sempre possibile portare a temine i brani. Il gameplay qui sotto vi aiuterà a farvi un'idea di ciò di cui sto parlando.

    L'obiettivo, ovviamente, non è raggiungere il termine di ogni canzone, fin troppo facile, quanto ovviamente ottenere il punteggio più altro, che ci consente di ottenere le famose 5 stelline, che simboleggiano la (quasi) perfezione nella serie di Rock Band. Per ottenere punteggi altissmi dovremo perciò suonare i brani in maniera molto più strategica ed utilizzando saggiamente i power-up. I power-up rappresentano il vero fulcro del gioco perchè possono cambiare drasticamente il volto di un'esecuzione, trasformandola da mediocre ad eccellente, ma solo se utilizzati in maniera oculata, anche a seconda del brano che andremo ad eseguire. Non saranno disponibili fin da subito, ma andranno acquistati all'interno del gioco, ne esistono di 3 tipi e per ogni tipo potremo sbloccarne ben 5, ma utilizzarne solo uno per tipo in ogni brano. Solo un saggio utilizzo dei power-up e un'esecuzione "strategica" delle tracce ci consentirà di raggiungere i punteggi più alti e le vette delle classifiche online, che, per coloro che amano le sfide arcade di decenni fa, rappresentano un continuo stimolo al miglioramento.

    In conclusione, Rock Band Blitz rappresenta un acquisto assolutamente necessario per tutti coloro che hanno giocato i fratelli maggiori della serie e vogliono assaporare i brani della propria libreria da un diverso punto di vista, per i neofiti il prezzo può essere un ostacolo, dato che per 10,99     … Expand

The game can be overly confusing at first and the training mode really doesn't help. graphics are great, sound is great, and the 20 song soundtrack is a great addition to rock band 3 which is probably where you'll end up playing the songs. try the demo before you buy this. If you lose connection during a song, you don't save your score, don't win any coins and lose the coins that you used to equip the power ups.
