Another strong entry in the Ratchet series. What little Deadlocked offers is great, but the functioning word is little. Gone is the platforming, gone are the minigames, gone are half the weapons and much more. While it's a fun outing, and a great deal at $9.99 USD, it lacks much of what made the earlier titles so enjoyable. The port is also riddled with issues, including severe framerate drops during heavy action, jittering during cutscenes, models clipping through the camera, through their armor, and even Vox's teeth clipping through his face at one point. Despite these issues, this is still the best way to play Deadlocked. However, if you're looking for a fun platformer, this is not the game you're looking for. Final Score 7.4/10 Expand

Bad port, although it's not the worst I have ever seen. Deadlocked is a great game, the PS3 version on the other hand, has many issues but nothing game-breaking. Some of the issues are announcers bugging out and not talking (aside from scripted events) or they just repeat lines over and over. Cutscenes glitch up involving seeing through characters, eyeballs losing eye color and turning complete white, and sometimes the camera stutters and pans (all during a cutscene, not in game). There are also the slowdowns and stuttering, when enemies build up the game slows down. Thankfully, it isn't as bad but it can happen. The stuttering is very annoying, sometimes in the heat of battle when switching between weapons, it freezes for half a second. It doesn't happen consistently during a large fight but it can get annoying. Again, nothing game breaking for the most part, I only died once so far (I just beat the crusader tournament) due to the slowdowns. I got the game with my new copy of Full Frontal Assault. I think it was given because the game was delayed in North America, so buyer beware if you plan on getting it through Full Frontal Assault, I am not entirely sure about the details. I would only get this version if you are a fan that wants to replay the game with trophies and in widescreen, but 10USD is a bit too much for how botched the port is, considering that you can get the original for less and it will have less issues. It is obviously a PS2 game, so the graphics cannot be the best. However, if you assume that, this Ratchet is entertaining and full of action. The storyline is not particularly brilliant, but there are jokes and funny situations that work well. It is always good to play this Ratchet years later, on PS3.

I agree with jakerfv. This is the worst port i'v ever seen. This Ratchet game is my favorite out of the entire series, but this port onto ps3 makes it UNPLAYABLE! do NOT buy this game. It is a crime that this game has been killed like this. Expand

Score 3/10 Decent game, but still the worst of the franchise. Having a bad port makes this case even worse.

I think this is the worst game of the pretty successful ratchet & clank franchise. What I like about this franchise is the exploration and the funkiness of the games. However, this got a more serious tone with some funky and good cutscenes between planets. This game is brainless

I think this is the worst game of the pretty successful ratchet & clank franchise. What I like about this franchise is the exploration and the funkiness of the games. However, this got a more serious tone with some funky and good cutscenes between planets. This game is brainless action packed to the point that I full throttle all the guns that I have without thinking. It is not for me, but it is still a decent game. Some people will have fun with brainless action packed shooting and it does its job well in that case. The multiplayer mode is still a nice addition.

    So why do I give it a 3 instead of a 5-7?
Because it's one of the worst remastered ports I have ever seen. lags everywhere, hell the beginning cutscene was even lagging. It can get as worse as not even been able to finish a dread challenge because of it. That may never happen. It was even lagging so hard that sometimes it takes a different weapon without any input. It's even worse then some modern games before there day one patches.

For reference the mission that bother me the most is "vindicator tournament/dread challenge/higher ground".

I am happy that I got this game as a freebie and didn't buy this game.

First the game runs "usually" 60 frames but only killing 3 enemies makes frame drop to 30 or below, and this happens often. The in game cutscenes also jump over a frame every second and it`s distracting as hell. There are also some grafical glitches in the cutscenes. So would I have recomended the hd port of deadlocked? If you for whatever reason can`t get the ps2 version then I guess deadlocked isen`t the worst option but be aware, this is not a hd port done well. Expand

RD is the last Ratchet (and Clack) game to be released in the PS2 era and the last game that was developed by the OG devs, unlike with the future R&C games for PS3, PS4 and now PS5.

    Why am I saying this?
Well, because this is the last series to feature R&C against a world that is infested in corrupt celebrities and businessmen who think about fame and fortune first.

But enough about the story, how's the rest?

    ---- Music ----
Awesome back then, awesome even now.
    I use it for jogging.

    ---- Art Design ----
The guns look sick, the area battles look fairly good.
If you wanna know why it's good, just look at the guns

---- Gameplay (The meat of the review) ----
Havin' finished RD for the 4th time in my life, there's no doubt why I got addicted to this game back then and now.
The game gives me a streamlined weapon pack to use but this time, with added mods that allow you to customize you strategy and thus play style.
It's all good and even better are a variety of enemies that can actually hit you unlike in modern shooters these days.

I will say that my only issue with the gameplay is the sections with all vehicles.
They're very out of place for me, and it breaks fun out of lvl-ing you weapons.
I know they're cool and all, but this is not Halo, where the weapons stay the same way.

Another minor nitpick I have are you "combat bots".
On one hand. they look cool and are handy to not break the pace of the action, i.e. they're the ones that hack & spin bolts with their ratchet.
But on the other hand, they don't really make the game more fun.
In all honestly, it's way better to play COOP with a friend than playin with the bots.
And again, they don't bring a problem, but the don't bring anything else to the table.

Other than that, this game is the first game to feature a difficulty option which actually gives me personally an excuse to play the game again in challenge mode.
Because, personally, I didn't have the urge to play R&C2 even though it was so good.

    ---- By the way... ----
If you ever pick this game on the PS3 somehow, never, AND I REPEAT, never press the multiplayer on the main menu.
It causes a glitch which disables the freeze time when switching weapons in single player.
This also happens in R&C3, a bug that was never fixed by the team that ported the old R&C to the PS3

    ---- Overall ----
This game is way wayyyy better than any shooter game out there, and it can out right rival Doom Eternal and Doom 2016 with it's weapon variety.
Yes yes, it's not that difficult, but it's way more fun than the new Doom is.
Because if there's a major difference between the old and new, is that the new always tried to be fun 1st and then challenging.

When I was young I would play this at my cousins, even as kids we noticed issues like how one of the 1st few cutscenes has ratchets face clipping into the camera luckily this doesn't ruin the great story the game has to give, and the ps3 version has 4 player splitscreen arena mode to! Not a bad version if you have friends for arena but does not surpass the ps2 version
