Its career mode is a short experience and the graphics and sound doesn't push the PS3 to its limits; even the gameplay has some frustrating features, but the innovation and entertainment for those who persevere through the learning curve and mundane early matches using rubbish players more than make up for that.
  2. At the full asking price, NBA Street Homecourt is a rushed, shark-jumping next-gen cash in from the masters of such practices, EA Sports.

There's lots of fun to be had with Homecourt. The problem is that it's sometimes so arbitrary you might as well watch footage of it rather than play it. [Issue #151, p.90]
  4. Overall, NBA Street Homecourt is leaps and bounds better than EA’s other basketball game, NBA Live, but still isn’t gaming perfection.

Ridiculous tricks and the gritty visuals impress, but Street's flashes of brilliance are undone by glaring flaws - such as the ball hitting an invisible wall at the sideline. [May 2007, p.112]
  6. The gameplay becomes repetitive quickly and the campaign is over without much fuss. In the end, this fast-paced game falls victim to its own velocity.

Yes, the graphics are the best in the series, but the energy around this game is dull & kinda lifeless. Nowhere near as electric as the first 3. Certain additions, like the double dunk, does its best to try to keep the attention; but, the traversal up & down the court just comes across as "bleh." Full Review »

I'm going to rate the game in 5 categories and the grades are for 2007 not 2011 ps3 games so it's fair. 8.5 Presentation The menus are pretty solid and good and the videos of the nba players when they played in the street when they were young and their stories are good. 8.5 Graphics The graphic is very good for the time when the game came out. 7.5 Sound The sound is good but not great. 8.5 Gameplay Very fun and easy to learn system but can get repetitive if you play the game many hours at a time. 8.5 Lasting Appeal The feature set could be a little meatier, but you have a fun and good game modes. The campaign is fun and you can recruit NBA players to your crew and make your own player with some kind NBA player face blender and choose the players hometown, name and skills. Overall pretty solid and fun game: 8,5 overall so I'll lower it to 8 because of the system here Full Review »

A surprisingly addictive game that really was the only game that had me playing PS3. Resistance and Motorstorm were decent but really this basketball version of FIFA street was very satisfying and even though it may be a little short lived, it was undoubtedly a fun, well presented experience with good graphics. A few years later and now the PS3 has a myriad of fantastic multi platform and exclusive games, but back at it's sub par beginnings this was the best game you could own on the console. Full Review »
