  1. If you don't have a big interest in bikes or MotoGP, this isn't for you. There's nothing here for casual bike fans or anyone who might be on the look out for something accessible in the bike racing genre. It's an incredibly solid package, though, and one that fans will get a lot out of.
  2. That said, MotoGP 09/10 is a solid game, it plays well, it looks good and has everything contained in the one package that any fans of motorcycle racing will enjoy.

This is the best MotoGP game by far. [Apr 2010, p.96]
  4. The great ideas present in MotoGP are a good foundation. However, the failure to develop them further is what keeps this game from greatness.
  5. 78
Capcom tries it again with better results, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
  6. MotoGP 09/10 is a solid, enjoyable racer that manages to capture the feel of charging about a track on a Superbike without being inaccessible to newcomers to the series.

A well-put together, if not very polished effort. [Issue#190, p.71]

The last part wasn’t the best one in the franchise, but Monumental and Capcom are back with a nice arcade kind of racer on every great circuit in the world, completely licensed with all the drivers and motorcycles. You can play a lot of modes and off course a career mode, which is a great part of this new game. Later this year you will also get free downloadable content and that contains the 2010 season.
  9. Moto GP 09/10 isn't the ultimate motorbike-racing real driving experience and it's probably a disappointing game for fans, but it still has three important powers: speed feeling, a complete roster of game modes and accessibility for newcomers.
  10. MotoGP 09/10 is way more interesting than its predecessors. But even an interesting career mode and a good sense of speed can’t help the fact that some players might van the driving to be a bit unrealistic and the online multiplayer is sort off lacking.

You definitely know what you are getting into beforehand, and the improvements in this year’s version definitely make it worth the price of admission.
  12. MotoGP 09/10 is a good example of a fun game with a few pronounced rough edges. These shortcomings shouldn’t put you off.
  13. 71
All in all, MotoGP 09/10 is a decent game. It’s somewhere in between sim and arcade racer, although arcade fans will like it a tad more. Sim fans won’t be completely satisfied, but whoever wants to race without knowing too much about all the details will definitely have fun with the game.
  14. It may not be a simulation but this is still an in-depth and hugely enjoyable racing game.
  15. This is your only option if you love the sport and want a console version so it’s lucky that it’s an approachable, realistic and well-realised virtual representation.

MotoGP 09/10 is definitely worth buying if you are looking for a fun motorcycle racing title. But for the serious motorcycle enthusiasts it's better to wait and see what SBK X will offer.
  17. If the intention was to create a good arcade racer, MotoGP 09/10 seems to be an almost successful attempt. The game offers plenty of modes, but loses all the realism of the previous episode.
  18. It's an average package, and there's little to draw in old or new fans who aren't willing to spend a good deal of time learning how to ride a bike again.
  19. If you are interested in a MotoGP game, this is undoubtedly the best option in the market.
  20. MotoGP 09/10 is well made and really rewards players who really learn to control their bike. However, an enthusiasm towards motorbike racing is recommended, and the steep learning curve means that casual multiplayer is out of the question.
  21. There's a great sense of speed and handling when ridning Monumental Games steel horses, but some of the game modes are a bit too boring.
  22. The king of the motorsport makes a fine comeback. Thanks to the focus on arcade gameplay the game is fun to play, but the presentation is lacking and fans looking for realism should search for it elsewhere.

A solid overall package, just lacking some finesse. [Apr 2010, p.107]
  24. A revamped Career mode and some fine racing are offset by some strange AI quirks in Capcom's latest two-wheeled racing game.
  25. Content wise, this latest entry in the MotoGP franchise doesn't disappoint. The visuals do their job without standing out, and the balance between an arcade and realistic racing game is a good one. That being said, this is not for the hardcore simulator fans. MotoGP 09/10 is an enjoyable and competent racing game that doesn't stand out from the crowd.
  26. The new Moto GP update still lacks exciting graphics and and a well-balanced difficulty level. The career mode nonetheless is a good and challenging expansion to last years’ Moto GP .
  27. The on disc content offers a great value with all of the riders and content for the 09? MotoGP season and free 2010 DLC makes this a must have for any motorcycle racing enthusiast.

This has been done and done so much better by this generations first wave of MotoGP games.
  29. It’s not pretty and it’s devoid of personality.
  30. While the controls can seem a bit touchy at times, the actual racing animations feel stiff and not as fluid as they should be. Sure, these are big bikes and metal doesn’t bend that well, but there were times when it just felt as though the game was on a rail. That said, for those who like racing games and motorcycles, MotoGP 09/10 has a robust racing package that should sate appetites.
  31. Monumental Games lacks the courage to take the series one step forward; despite the arcade turn not being a bad thing per se, the simulation doesn't convince on many aspects, starting from the very bad physics. A true shame, that makes us hope in the next SBK installment.
  32. 65
Moto GP 09/10 is a competent racing sim, but is never as exhilarating, beautiful or engaging as one would hope.
  33. MotoGP 09/10's racing mechanic still hasn't grown significantly, and many surrounding features, such as the multiplayer, are severely unpolished. Hardcore MotoGP fans will be able to sustain themselves on the more in-depth career mode, but anyone else will get bored fast.
  34. By not having mind-blowing graphics, a lot of the emphasis is put on the gameplay of MotoGP 09/10, which is unfortunately not all that fun.
  35. Fun for a few hours but it loses it flavor quickly.
  36. You get a real thrill when it comes to racing with a large pack, and great satisfaction goes along with a meticulously executed pass.
  37. Aside from the focus on its namesake license, there's not much to stand out in MotoGP 09/10. It is fairly challenging, but the lack of variety and poor presentation ultimately make for a dull, monotonous experience.
  38. The series is tired and bored. Year after year, Moto GP does not reinvent itself and appears as a vapid experience.
  39. A poor mans Gran Turismo lacking the depth, polish and graphics of the latter, but offering some fun if you are really keen to drive on two wheels.

The furthest thing from instant gratification. [May 2010, p.82]

It really seems as though Monumental Games focused more on flashy presentation and cheap thrills rather than handling and physics with any true depth. That said, it is a much more fun and accessible racing game that will attract new fans without hitting them over the head with a super-hard technicality. MotoGP 09/10 stands as the antithesis of racing sims like SBK-08 Superbike whose superior track-side feel was marred by bare bones presentation. There’s eye candy and pizazz here now, but it comes at the expense of handling purity. [May 2010 p.78]
  42. While you die-hard MotoGP fans might eke out some brief enjoyment, you’d be much better off if you went out and bought a bargain-priced copy of MotoGP 07. That three-year-old game has more heart, soul, and chutzpa than either of its lackluster follow-ups, and it makes MotoGP 09/10 look like a snapshot of a series spiraling quickly into oblivion.

WOW ... Moto GP 09/10 is not even close to the 08 game in terms of FUN FACTOR.. And if you have played MX vs ATV Reflex it makes Moto GP WOW ... Moto GP 09/10 is not even close to the 08 game in terms of FUN FACTOR.. And if you have played MX vs ATV Reflex it makes Moto GP 09/10 seem dull, boring and impossibly lame to play. Bottom line is that this is my last time buying the Moto GP games, they just don't get better. Capcom and MotoGP need to take a look at MX vs ATV Reflex and see how a moto game should be in terms of quality because what they've produced is grade school ! Full Review »

Cartoony barbie & ken style graphics, no option to change laps (3 LAPS ONLY!!!), no mappable or customizable controls, no hands on the Cartoony barbie & ken style graphics, no option to change laps (3 LAPS ONLY!!!), no mappable or customizable controls, no hands on the handlebars in cockpit view, all bikes sound the same - like a lawnmower...I could go on and on... This is such a huge step back for MotoGP games. Most importantly of all, the bikes do not handle or feel like real motorcycles. For example, feel free to grab an absolute handful of front brake at full lean in the corner...no problem! Lol, not so realistic. Bikes have no suspension, and seem to float on the track...do not feel connected at all. The ONLY reason this gets 1 point is because the 2010 DLC will be free....that is, if you are unlucky enough to own the game. RENT this if in doubt, you will be so turned off of buying it - save your money. Full Review »
