Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Mar 5, 2012While 2K12 plays a solid game and displays improvements over the past version, it doesn't add enough to achieve its lofty aspirations. [Apr 2012, p.85]

Mar 8, 2012A fine game that features excellent commentators, a cleaner, slightly more detailed on-the-field presentation, and a challenging yet rewarding pitching mechanic. The hitting and fielding is good, too, but it isn't quite as robust as the pitching, and there are a few remaining production issues. Clipping is obvious, for example, and the camera isn't always your best friend (although this is usually during foul balls). It's just a little too much "been there, done that," despite the positives.

Mar 28, 2012It almost feels like a patched version of 2K11. With another challenger looming in the wings for next year's baseball crown it's likely that 2K will have to step their game up. Note to devs: please fix the shoes next year, too. I beg of you.

Mar 14, 2012While this may be the best iteration of the series in some time, it's mostly just a ton of potential that ultimately lets you down. Pitching is great, but batting needs some practice. Fielding is frustrating, and even more so when you take the game online. Audio work is incredible, but not reactive enough nor as customizable as in The Show.

Mar 6, 2012MLB 2K12 doesn't step far enough ahead of its predecessor to warrant a great change in the series, but its small polishes represent more distance traveled on the path towards the perfect game.

Mar 15, 2012Visual Concepts has fixed most of the problems that made last year's game such a horrendous experience, and appears to be in a good position for next season (if 2K signs another contract with Major League Baseball). The game is still rough around the edges and can be infuriating at times, but it is a passable baseball experience for 360 players that need their fix. PlayStation 3 owners should stick with The Show.

Mar 10, 2012A good pitching mechanic can't mask the many faults of MLB 2K12.

Mar 29, 2012MLB 2K12 isn't a terrible game. But if you've played it before...well, you've played it before. If you haven't played it before, it's not a very good jumping-on point due to little to no in-game tutorials, and the animations won't win any new fans either.
