Play UKAmusing and distinctive. [Issue#174, p.93]
-
games(TM)Those who have been waiting for this port can relax. However, Konami has done little to improve on what is still a winning formula. [Christmas 2008, p.103]
-
It's a game fundamentally incapable of not running you down now and then, but the clarity of control and aspiration give wry subtext to its rightful claim to "high definition".
-
If you want variety you'll likely grow tired of GTI Club+'s relatively meager content, but if you're someone who can spend days perfecting a single lap and fancy a bit of no nonsense arcade multiplayer gaming, look no further.
-
Sure, there’s no damage modeling, the crash physics are nonsense and the graphics won’t bother Polyphony - but this isn’t the point: GTI Club+ rewards continuous play with a perfectly pitched learning curve: your laps will get quicker every time until you’re in that Wipeout-esque zone, chicaning between traffic and drifting around corners without even thinking.
-
For those moments in which you want doses of immediate races and guaranteed satisfaction Gti Club + reveals itself competent and it could be a good choice to add to a Christmas list, particularly tempting for its price of 12 € at the PS Store.
-
GTI Club+ is a fairly fun arcade racer that's short on content. As it is, fans of the genre will probably like what's here, but after a bit you can't help but wish there was more to it. Still, give it a go if you like old-school arcade racers.
-
Fans of the original arcade version will get a kick out of playing this PlayStation Network racer, but a steep price and limited replay value limit its longevity.
-
Games Master UKBrilliant in its day, but not enough to hold your attention for long. [Christmas 2008, p.84]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKThrowaway fun. [Christmas 2008, p.117]
-
Easily accessible arcade action, with hilarious multiplayer modes. Doesn't captivate the player for much longer than a few hours though, but it's fun while it lasts.
-
Edge MagazineWith only the graphical layer receiving much attention it lacks the necessary breadth and depth to elevate itself far beyond the status of nostalgic curio. [Jan 2009, p.97]
