Feb 10, 2012This is a $15 download, and it packs more than enough content into its frame to balance out the relatively meager 5 maps and 3 modes. Make no mistake, however, Gotham City Impostors stands head and shoulders with every other big-box multiplayer shooter out there.
-
Feb 17, 2012A few technical limitations aside, it's time to become the impostor and spend an endless amount of hours mindlessly addicted to the high flying, Batman-less action at stake, or the joke's on you for missing out.
-
Feb 14, 2012Gotham City Impostors is a fantastic downloadable game for those in love with Team Fortress 2, or those addicted to Call of Duty's leveling system. Even though a lot has been borrowed from other games, Impostors forges an identity all its own.
-
Feb 11, 2012There's nothing especially original about Gotham City Impostors' mishmash of multiplayer modes and character progression, but the game goes to such absurd lengths to distinguish itself from the vast field of modern-military mediocrity that you can't help but love it at least a little bit.
-
Feb 8, 2012While some gamers may be turned off by the hundreds of dollars worth of day-one DLC, I felt that the $15 download easily offered a full experience on its own. The large majority of DLC is cosmetic, except for the ability to purchase double-XP time for yourself or your team. It's hard to argue the value included with this title, as it contains a substantial shooter experience, unique weapons and gadgets, and more than enough incentive to keep playing. FPS fans that have tired of the typical shooter formula should find plenty to like about this high-flying, slapstick-heavy download.

Play UKMar 28, 2012A thoroughly pointless game when looked at objectively, but that doesn't detract from the fast that Gotham City Imposters is good fun. [Issue#216, p.85]
-
Feb 10, 2012If you don't get sick of the five maps, you will play this one for quite some time as you climb through all 1,000 levels of advancement.
-
Mar 7, 2012For all intents and purposes, the game is technically crude and boasts mild fun at best, in terms of gameplay, but shrewd design decisions save it from the abyss of mediocrity.
-
Feb 13, 2012Cheeky, scrappy, and rough around the edges, Gotham City Impostors entertains, often in spite of itself. Anyone who likes multiplayer shooters, but finds the more popular ones too intense for their liking should give this one a look.
-
Feb 13, 2012Gotham City Impostors is frantic fun for shooter fans who want something a little different.
-
Feb 10, 2012A Call of Duty for the craziest fans of Batman and Joker. Characters flying, hooks, jumps, explosions ... A fun game with lots of humor, that if you know how to stay alive, you can succeed.
-
Feb 12, 2012One would have expected a gentle tragedy out of Gotham City Imposters, not unlike the way its collection of wacky gadgets would perform against actual assault rifles. In practice, however, it's those same silly toys that boost Gotham City Imposters out of copycat land and into a neat realm all its own. If you want a bit of humor and subtle creativity injected into your competitive first person shooting, and don't mind its inherent familiarity, look no further.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaApr 11, 2012[G]ripes aside, Gotham City Impostors is a surprisingly solid shooter and with the sizeable first DLC drop, Warner Bros. is promising improvements across the board. If they deliver on that, consider upgrading this score to must-buy status, rather than a nice-to-have. [April 2012, p72]
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Apr 3, 2012Gotham City Impostors is a solid multiplayer shooter trussed up in a big, rubbery premise: one team dresses as Batman, the other as the Joker. [May 2012, p.81]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKMar 29, 2012A surprisingly satisfying cartoon RPS that scratches that itch to war a binliner as a cowl very nicely. [Apr 2012, p.105]
-
Mar 9, 2012Gotham City Impostors is a fun and different first-person shooter with a lot of ambition. It stands out from the crowd, and has enjoyable and casual gameplay. There are some issues with matchmaking that made the experience a bit tedious, but I'm sure these will be sorted out soon.
-
Mar 9, 2012Gotham City Impostors is a lot of fun to play but sadly offers only a few levels and game modes. If you're looking for an easy to play multiplay shooter, you'll definitely have a good time with this one.
-
Feb 20, 2012I would love to see a humorous single player campaign to go along with this experience. Gotham City Impostors provides an oasis for those of us tapped out from modern military syndrome, and an original variation on the Batman theme. If the community continues to grow, it can only get better.
-
Feb 10, 2012A functional shooter with a sense of humor and a Batman license. It's got plenty to unlock, but it's not all that deep. Go, shoot, win. Over and over. If you're looking for a first-person shooter that doesn't take itself seriously, have at it, but don't expect a FPS revolution.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKMar 22, 2012Let down by a lack of creative spark. [Apr 2012, p.95]
-
Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxMar 4, 2012The weapon selection is varied, but only has a few standouts, like an explosive catapult or an tranquilizing boomerang. Most of the rifles seem to have been lifted straight from some generic shooter and feel a bit soulless. [March 2012, p.102]
-
Apr 10, 2012An addictive game, pulled apart by terrible matchmaking.
-
May 8, 2012Even with the enormous amount of customization options, plentiful weapons and gadgets and a rather solid progression system, Gotham City Impostors can't hide the fact that it's a fairly ordinary shooter, despite the colorful packaging.
-
Feb 13, 2012Gotham City Imposters is by no means a bad game. The few maps it offers are expertly balanced for its type of play. But after a short while, there is just not enough to keep you coming back and in everything it does, it gets outclassed by the likes of Team Fortress 2.
-
Apr 6, 2012An unfinished game that could have been entertaining if you didn't have to put so much effort to actually enjoy it. If your character didn't have to level up so slowly, you wouldn't need to invest more money into it. If someone had done their work, there wouldn't be need for this incomplete piece of junk. Not even its low price can change its outcome. There's not even a smile on Joker's face and that is always a bad sign.
