It's still fantastic package for this serie fans, but few things should be made better. First of all - checkpoint system. It's atrocious in CoO and mediocre in GoS. Remastered versions shouldn't have technical problems like this. Graphics might be better, but it's little cons. The most inmportant thing - Kratos has still power to give you many hours of intensive fun.

Chains of Olympias and Ghost of Sparta are both fine games in the God of War series. For me as someone trying to play through all the games at this point I felt kind of burned out on the formula used in these games. However I think that both of these games are still good especially for the fact that they were made for the PSP. However I think that both of these games are still good especially for the fact that they were made for the PSP. Visually they both look quite impressive for what they are and I think overall I had a better time with both of these titles then I did the original although they both do still carry over some of the more annoying aspects from the original PS2 games. And the story while I thought it would be very unnecessary I found them to be entertaining even if there really not that important in the series. But if you are a fan of the first main series of God of War games then you might want to check them out if you get a chance. The collections like 10$ on the PS3 store so get it before the store shuts down someday. Expand

Two good titles of the saga, but despite having ALMOST all the necessary elements to live up to the numbered titles of PS2, they cannot be. This remastered version meets in Chains of Olympus, where the game looks and runs perfect, however in Ghost of Sparta it seems that 100% performance was not optimized and this second title is somewhat lower also in the final result. For those looking to flesh out their God of War experience, however, Volume II is a nice addition, if by no means essential. [Issue#210, p.90]

If only all HD remakes looked like the God of War Collection. Two perfect stories await you for the price of one – what are you waiting for? [Oct 2011]

To fans of the series, particularly those that haven't played the PSP games before, there's really no reason not to pick up this well packaged collection. Chains of Olympus provides an engaging story for its six hours, whilst Ghost of Sparta has some spectacular set pieces over its lengthier ten hours, with both having the solid combat and strong item utility that has made God of War so popular.
