Final Fight and Magic Sword were two of the best arcade video games ever, and this remastered version is no less equal to their quality. Among all the new options, playing online is definitely the most interesting one, as it mixes the virtues of the classic games with the blessings of modern video games.

Final Fight as a lot of Beat Em' Up games hasn't aged well, the controls, the difficulty are clear signs that this kind of title's main job was to dry your coins. Obviously you can get perfect scores, without getting hit or dying but I can only think on how many coins you needed to get there. If you accept all of this, this is a interesting game play experience if not that good.

A decent follow up to the genre from the ever experienced production house. Powerups and bonuses are nice but the plot needs more dimensions.

  1. Boasting two faithfully reproduced arcade classics, Final Fight: Double Impact is a fantastic value and a must-buy for fans of old-school arcade fans.
  2. Double Impact is a good package, featuring two of the greatest co-op arcade games of all time. Final Fight is really showing its age now, but it's been twenty years, so that may have been inevitable. Magic Sword has aged a great deal more gracefully, and of the two, it's the one that I've been going back to.
  3. You fight lots of pallet-swapped enemies over and over again, rinse and repeat. Fun to play with a friend and a huge nostalgia rush, but not much to hold your interest for long.
