    The first part of the game was great but the second part is rushed as hell, the ending comes out of nowhere and Hoyt is just a downgrade considering that we had Vaas before, even with that the hunting, towers and outpost are fun enough to get you distracted.

(SPOILERs) PERO QUE JUEGAZO no le pongo un 10 solamente porque para ser un juego de 2012 tiene las animaciones de las personas medio que hecho asi nomas (no se le puede bajar mucho por eso porque incluso juegos del 2020 tienen animaciones igual de simples). al de ubisoft que se le haya ocurrido hacer el personaje de vaas montenegro es un GENIO no tiene sentido lo buen personaje que es y re que aparece como mucho 20 minutos en pantalla. el actor de voz de jason otro genio, solamente con su trabajo de voz hizo un personajazo. es increíble como el juego te va lavando la cabeza al mismo tiempo que jason y como empezas medio alejado de la violencia a disfrutar matando cientos si no miles de personas, torturando a tu propio hermano menor. la escena en la que matas a hoyt y jason entra en un transe y cuando vuelve esta absolutamente toda la habitación llena de sangre y cadáveres ?? top 10 momentos del la historia del gaming que queres que te diga… Expand

    At first they were all captured while they were skydiving near the Rook Island, but Jason's older brother helped him escape the outpost before the camp was alerted, unfortunately his brother didn't make it. This was the start of Jason's journey to release all his friends and to avenge older brother's death.
    While being on this journey, there is a group of natives of the island who are willing to help you, if you help them liberate the island by taking control over outposts all over the island. Apart from that, there are multiple activities and side quest which you can access after liberating a part of the island. Well, most of them becomes repetitive after some time and you lose interest completing them, but they give you some extra few hours of gameplay.
    Jason will not only learn how to be a warrior, but also how to survive the jungle. By gathering certain plants, you will be able to craft syringes which will amplify you skills, and by hunting and gathering animal skins, you will be able to upgrade yourself so that you can carry more loot, ammo, syringes, etc.
    Following the main storyline after some time you will gain ability to learn more skills, which are represented on a Tatau, which will complete itself after learning all skills. The main story is great, and on my opinion, it can be separated in two parts, every part of the story on a separate island. The first one where you will set you friends free and where you will kill Vaas, and the second one where you will hunt down Hoyt to help Citra avenge his brother Vaas for turning him into a madman.
    Well, apart the great memorable story, there is also a character who stand out above all, and that is Vaas, of course, the crazy maniac who starts talking like a reasonable person and ends the talk by yelling at you and killing someone. He shows only in few cutscenes, but his impact as a character stands out.
    The Rook Island are vast and beautiful, the graphics is amazing, even today. Great amount of weapons, skills, upgrades and activities. The only thing that really shown how old this game is was the barely holding the 30 fps cap while driving and the bottom of the screen tearing while running.

    All in all, for open-world fans this is a must play, within this game you get not only a beautiful world to explore full of mysteries to reveal, but also a great story full of iconic characters.

    REAL SCORE 9.4. A game from 2012 that feels like a nowadays game. The first open world game that I played and one of the best ones. Truly the best of the saga with amazing graphics, combat system, reovolutionary world and mechanics.

    Astonishing game.

    I played this game so many times as a kid it's sooooooooo good. It's the first far cry game i've ever plaayed and will probably be the last one. The other far cry games don't look nearly as impressive as this game. The story is genius and it's only a story a video game could tell and it's genius.     The whole story is pretty intense but the problem is it got a little bit too short for me. You can purchase gun and modify it if your wallet isn't too thin, You can earn money by hunting, racing, minigame reward although it's repeatedly and boring after doing everytime. The soundtrack is personality respective, the car radio is relaxing and the mission soundtrack is high as fxxk.     estou aqui em 2022, eu zerei esse jogo incrivel, impossivel dizer algo que eu odiei no jogo só se for a demora pra curar ou o baixo fps porém o baixo fps poucas vezes me atrapalhou, uma pena que a ubisoft não faz jogos tão bons assim

FC 3 has easily the best protagonist, antagonist, and story in the series, which I know for this series isn't saying much, but the mental and psychological journey that Jason Brody embarks on, transforming him from a clueless nobody to a merciless killer, the way it affects the people around him (as well as his overall chemistry with said characters), not to mention his clashes    Pros:
    . FC 3 has easily the best protagonist, antagonist, and story in the series, which I know for this series isn't saying much, but the mental and psychological journey that Jason Brody embarks on, transforming him from a clueless nobody to a merciless killer, the way it affects the people around him (as well as his overall chemistry with said characters), not to mention his clashes with the charismatic psychopath Vaas is second-to-none compared to the rest of the franchise.
    . A plethora of new ways to take down your enemies, from multi-takedowns, takedowns from above or below, to the introduction of bows, C4, proximity mines, as well as enhanced weapon customisation allows for almost endless mayhem as you feel like a complete badass, tearing through the opposition. The addition of having to hunt or be hunted by a plethora of dangerous wildlife only adds to the chaos and survival.
    . The addition of fast travelling and autosaving makes the game FAR less tedious than FC 2 and is much-welcomed.
    . From hunting the aforementioned animals for skins to upgrade your character, to liberating outposts, to helping out locals with their problems, there is always something to do and there is never a dull moment.
    . The world is still gorgeous 9 years later, and the lore and mystery created by this game makes the Rook Islands one of the series' most interesting maps to explore.

    Cons:
    . Whilst I sing praises about Vaas, his character is very underutilised and killed off in very pathetic fashion before you even reach the last 1/4 of the game, leading to a hunt for the actual villain which feels heavily rushed and not very forfilling due to the high focus on Vaas.
    . The game has a tenancy to swarm you with enemies in certain missions, either in large environments with little cover, or small environments where the terrain can work against you, which is very annoying at times.
    . This version of the game does suffer from framerate issues and small texture issues.

    Classic Far Cry. But he's better than all of them. Vaas is an excellent character. The story of your fall on the island makes sense. The last Far Cry, the value of the main character. The island theme is great. If you did not play, you would be very shameful.

    Um jogo incrível, com visuais e jogabilidade impressionantes. O sistema de combate permite que você jogue o jogo do seu jeito, A história pode ser forte, mas é facilmente esquecida quando há tanto para fazer e explorar, os gráficos são muito bonitos, tem uma grande variedade de armas e ótima trilha sonora

The weapons selection is pretty good, though not overwhelming. The Desert Eagle model is by far one of the ugliest, it's up there on the ugly gun list together with the Desert Eagle from SoF Payback. Far Cry 2 did the Deagle way better than this. Weapon condition doesn't deteriorate after times, so it makes it more boring than it's predecessor.    … Expand

    Only thing I can say about this game is: Vaas is the only good thing in this game. The story is boring, Jason is a terrible protagonist, the map is boring and the really repetitive, the graphics are fine but the game is waaaay to bright. The combat is easy and the AI is stupid.

    This game was the best game on the ps3 EVER!!

    The story was fantastic and had me immersed The characters were well made and we’re well written

    The world was beautifully made and felt like it was endless.

    The only part I have an issue with is the audio ,but then again this game was made in 2012 so I’ll excuse it.

    Over this game is a 10/10

Every time, once I run a game with check points, I practically hear the game's creators' excuses, "Sorry, pal, we can't implement a normal save system, so we're gonna make you pay your time for ourI was gonna score this game 8/10, but I can't forgive its save system, because I just *hate* check points!     Far Cry 3 or 4 ? I give 8 to FC3 and 9 to FC4.
    Good graphic, very good story better than FC4. Some news elements for FC4 wich make the game easier and less frustrating (like gyroptère, graplle hook and possibility to re-capture forts.) If you liked FC4 you'll appreciated FC3 and the acting of Vas a very good psychotic bad guy.

    Although I prefer other games like Uncharted or Tomb Raider, this game has very good graphics and the first person gameplay make you feel more the experience. In this game you can use many different weapons as you advance during the game.     I havnt played far cry 3 before, and with it being released for current gen consoles, being included in the far cry 5 season pass I thought I would go back and play the ps3 version..
    after hearing such great things about how this game was robbed for game of the year 2012 by releasing in December.. I was even more excited for what is supposed to be the best game in the far cry series…
    And im sorry to break your hearts, but I just don’t see it..
    And lets be real.. 2012 we saw the likes of dishonored, assassins creed 3, the walking dead season , lollipop chainsaw, borderlands 2, and journey… get out of here with that robbed nonsense…

    If we don’t count far cry primal, it actually probably is.. that much I agree on.. though Ive never touched far cry 4…
    right off the bat, my eyes needed some adjusting.. im geunuinely surprised how bad this only nearly 6 year old game now looks.. I had to get used to the old school graphics to really immerse myself into the world.. thankfully after a couple of hours my brain and eyes did adjust and the negative critiquing ends there..
    Because Far Cry 3 while is insanely overrated is stil la really good game
    what makes far cry 3 so great is that its so simple and linear… youre placed on a giant island is towers to climb to reveal the map.. its crawling with plants and animals to hunt so you can upgrade your gear, posts to liberate for fast travel points.. and the story is delivered with emotion and great design that we don’t get in the more modern far cry games
    I much prefer this delivery style over the recent separate regions, go do things to challenge the region leader nonsense they do now, it pulls everything in and makes It feel personal..
    here youl lbe doing a variety of queststhat as you could guess involves a lot of shooting, with the occasional annoying stealth missions thrown in here…
    But it never feels like just busy work, I had fun through the whole campaign, and my favorite moments much like in far cry 5 were the moments where youre going through weird hallucinations…
    it’s a clever way to create unrealistic levels and bring them into reality and I appreciate that..
    and completing quests will reward you with xp that goes towards skill points you can throw in your skill tree
    world design however is just okay, not much incentive to explore…
    it’s a bunch of greens and blues.. I didn’t feel like much care went into crafting it, but works as land in between missions, and does a great job of coming to life during the main story line..
    A story that was again just kind of okay, none of the characters blew me away, there are some surprised in the story.. but nothing that really drew me in or pulled me through to the end..
    the pure fun of the gameplay, the shooting, the tower climbing, the hunting.. that’s what kept me going..
    there is also co op maps and online multiplayer here but beign a 6 year old game as you would guess theres not many people still playing and there isn’t much to say about it.. its just one of those tacked on multiplayer modes that every AAA ps3 game had
    Ultimately I enjoyed Far Cry 3
    Its not as great as everyone remembers it being.. it doesn’t hold up..
    but its still decently fun

    Far Cry 3 For me is the best in the saga, his world is incredible, his story is pretty good, and the villain is brutal. Very good game, of the best of the previous generation.

    Playing this in 2017 is not worth it. PS3 framerate is not good. And you need it for better close combat orientation. Saw a PC fooage. Yes. This game works better with a better graphics. Did'nt liked the plot and all the characters besides guy on a cover and a CIA agent. Liked towers and outposts routine. Hunting for equipment is fun too.

    Far Cry 3 is probably the best FPS I've played. Some cool characters an vibrant and varied world to explore and the freedom to take down the enemy with guile and cunning or a **** load of C4; what's not to like?

    As my first try into the Far Cry series, I found the open world elements extremely inviting and finding it very easy to become lost in the game itself as an adventurer. I'm not much a fan of the story, but found myself immersed within the environment. The game is truly unique and very immersive.

    Awesome game! While the story and characters aren't anything special, the island, the gameplay and the exploration are truly where the game shine. There is alot to do. The game does look pretty, for a PS3 game that is (look even better on PC). Got tons of ways to handle any situations, got manys ways to travel in the game. Exploration is well made and well rewarded. This is a must-play!

    Awesome game even better than Uncharted 3 which also is quite good action FPS type game. I like the ability to explore a massive island, drive jeeps and fly hang gliders, hunt, craft items and good action. Only frustrating things are hunting is super difficult and some weapons suck like the bow and the shooting action is difficult. The graphics and animation is beautiful and very realistic.

    Amazing game ! I had no expectation for that one and was gladly surprised ! It kinds of remind me of Read Dead Redemption but in first person shooter on an island instead of a third person cowboy.

If you've enjoyed Far Cry 4 or Primal, then this is definitely worth your time. If you're a newcomer to the series, then this is also a great starting point. In this game you play as Jason Brody on vacation at a island with his best friends and two brothers. Pretty great, right? Wrong. This game turns dark fast, as you realize that Jason and his friends have been captured by pirates, and their leader, Vaas, who is a psychopath. You're one brother, who has had military training, then breaks free of his restraints and helps Jason out of his. They then sneak around the pirate camp to try to set their friends free, but that comes to a close as Jason and his brother get spotted. As they're trying to run, Jason's brother gets shot and dies, leaving Jason on his own to survive. Pretty awesome exposition. At the very beginning, Jason is a civilian, a victim of these pirates, but by the end, he is transformed into a ruthless killer who starts to even question himself. And that's what I love of this game, the sense of morality. In Far Cry 4, you just go to Kyrat and start killing people. The main character, Ajay, never questions himself and thinks about who he's killed. But Jason does, and that's what makes this game perfect. By the end, he even goes as far as calling himself a monster. But, with that aside, the game mechanics are also great. The shooting is better as ever, the hunting is good (though not as good as Far Cry Primal's hunting), and the missions are refreshing. As the game goes on, Jason is tasked with trying to save his friends and take down the pirate leader, Vaas, and later Vaas' boss. And the graphics are BEAUTIFUL! They really are. The tropical island setting is very well portrayed through these graphics. Then, there are also two other modes in this game: co-op and multiplayer. In co-op, you can play with up to 4 people as 4 brand new characters who don't appear in the campaign at all, which is a great addition, because you learn a new story. The co-op is very fun to do, especially with friends, because you can have a lot of fun. And the multiplayer is surprisingly good, especially for a game series that has never had a competitive multiplayer mode. It's very fun and refreshing when most competitive multiplayer games these days are just Call of Duty re-skins.     In my opinion this is the best game of 2012 and the best game in the Far Cry series. This is because of the amazing open world and the great story although it was not perfect it could get a bit repetitive in some parts of story for example there were a lot of very slow missions were you have to sneak round with out being seen now I am fine with this but I think there were slightly to many of them.

Far Cry 4 really disappointed me with the story but Far Cry 3 did (almost) everything right. The story was fun, exciting and really worth to play through. However, some aspects of the story were pretty vague and never really explained. I also felt they could have ended the game a bit better than they ultimately did but it was still pretty good.
    But then, on my way to the platinum, there was the ultimate fun destroyer: the co-op missions. Not because I don't like co-op in general, but because Far Cry 3's co-op is one of the worst I've ever had to play through. The co-op mission were boring, and when playing online, two of the six mission-trophies glitched on me. When I played them online again up to three times, they kept glitching -_- . Finally I found someone who was willing to play those two mission offline with me which finally granted me the platinum trophy.
    If not for the horrible co-op missions, I would have given Far Cry 3 a 9 for enjoyment. If you still have/want to play Far Cry 3 but don't intend to go for the platinum trophy, please skip the co-op missions :P.    … Expand

    This game as one of the best villains made in the history of gaming! Far cry 3 is a good FPS, with a good story and great graphics. There are moments the you literally just "BOOM" (that's the sound of your mind exploding). I totally recommend this game 8/10 (Multiplayer is almost dead at the time of this review so...yeah - but it was pretty good and responsive.

    This is something that I just cannot overlook. The game builds up to awesome confrontation with the villain. And how does this play out? In a hallucination/dream sequence. That was something that royally pissed me off. As a player you are pinned down by enemies and the main boss. Then from a flick of a switch you transport into a dreamworld with shining disco lights and quick time events. Then after you have killed every single enemy in this disco dream, you wake up in the and see a blood-splattered room with all the enemies dead. That is something unacceptable and I'm disgusted how many people are either too stupid to care or just let that fly. That singlehandedly killed the story for me and the game offered nothing to redeem itself.

    This is GTA goes to the jungle. I actually had a lot more fun with this game than with GTA. I found it doesn't take itself too seriously and the wild animals really get you scarred and worried. I got frightened on more than one occasion by wild unexpected attacks. It was awesome.

Magnificent story, great world design, amazing graphics, acceptable A:I, and a map creator for multiplayer. This is a perfect shooting game.

    The Broken design choices comes in the ability to Fast-Travel and the Machine Shops, to put it simpler, in the Game you have to capture enemy outposts to unlock new Sidequest and a Fast-Travel point, also, in every Fast-Travel point there is a Machine that allows you to buy and change your weapons, however, in the game there are some isolated shops on the islands, and they have no reason to exist since you can Fast-Travel to an Captured Outpost and Change/Buy your weapons there, the other thing is the amount of details you never see since you re always fast traveling from one point to another like seeing Rebel Islanders (The Rakyat) partying and shooting to the air, seeing Islanders (you can save) that are about to be executed by Pirates/Mercenaries and some other minor random events you never see because of the fast-travel.

    The Characters and Story are there but varely, Jason s friends and the Doctor appears and disappears from the Story without rime or reason, Vaas, the guy in the Cover of the game, only appears a few times and later confusinly dies (one of the developer had to confirm that he died) and theres all this talk about the indiscriminate killing of Islanders and the war the Rakyat rages against both the Pirates and Mercenaries but you never see a skirmish between the factions except for one mission in the game.

    Overall, since this is the PS3 version, the game will work fine for most of the time until you try the Map Editor and the Multiplayer, The Map Editor will cause an permanent framerate drop on the single player until you decide to restart the game and the Multiplayer sometimes will get stuck in the Map loading screen for no apparent reason.    … Expand

    I'm just gonna add one thing: the best controls for a character in all my PS3 games. They're intuitive, well mapped, and the character does what you're expecting. Should be a standard for all future action games! At last, no more cursor/messages telling you where to go, what to do, and what button to push. Back to old school!

    ANYWAYS, the game really focuses on rushing you into things, give you small thrills and hypes during intense moments, but the controlls and how you move around, doesn't quite fit in.
    if this game was supposed to be given to someone as a gift it would mainly be because you hated the person and wanted them to suffer abit.

    We also tried to check how the Multiplayer for online worked, and we used quite a while to even find out where we had to click to join eachothers, you didn't even get up a notice on "you have an invite" or "Person has invited you to play" nope, you have to go on multiplayer - Multiplayer - Friends - The friend that has invited you - accept invite...
    and people quick joins so fast that its mearly impossible to freaking join your friend.. which really sucks.
    couldn't they just have made the same system as Call of Duty? you get a mail in your inbox to join a friend..
    atleast that was simple and it worked.

    Ubisoft has took a giant step forward from Far Cry 2. Unlike its precessor, Far Cry 3 is an enjoyable, polished and interesting adventure with loads of ways to play it.
    The plot's quality is over the average of this kind of games and the ending is awesome.
    Summarizing, a must have.

The best part about this game was the chaining of kills by using throwing knives which was admittedly a cool feature, but it wasn't often that enemies would be grouped close enough together to pull it off. The multiplayer co-op was a snooze fest, and I didn't bother with any of the other deathmatch since their weren't any trophies for it, but I heard it was terrible anyway. I had intended to try out the map editor when I first started the game, but after completing everything else I just wasn't motivated. All in all, a good looking but shallow open-world game with very little replay value.… Expand

    A must have. Everything is perfect, the island, the weapons, the playability. Maybe the second island and the end was what I liked less. Anyway, a great game.

    I have to say I just bought this game used having previously played Farcry 2. Unlike Farcry 2 which can get boring and repetitive around halfway, this game entertained me the whole way. Great fun, bags of stuff to do. I'd recommend to anyone and it's a guarantee that you'll love it

    This game is amazing. I love the environment the game provides and the combat is cool (getting in / out of cover and melee etc.) I like the single player / free roam of the island, a lot of variety of animals with their own AI and enemies in suitable places! The co-op multiplayer is really fun when you are together, it features good minigames throughout the missions.

    In my opinion, this game is familiar with dead island. Same style and animation & its scenes are great!
    But what I don't like about the game is the frame rate, it's slow and it makes me extremely uncomfortable (like around 20 - 30 fps) it makes me dizzy over time and I just feel like playing anything else.
    The melee like I said is great with the knife and all, there are a variety of customizable weapons which are cool! The game is ok, but the frame rate is a big con for me...    … Expand

Open world exploration and amount of content has been vastly improved over Far Cry 2. Amazing graphics, a very interesting story, fun mini games. The only bad thing about FC3 is it's multiplayer, it's terrible. At the beginning, this game looked so promising and amazingly good. I am generally easy to please, but there were too many fundamental flaws that bothered me significantly.

I could snipe a guard from 200m away and it barely misses the enemy yet fifteen enemies in an entire compound know EXACTLY where I am immediately after the miss (with a silencer no less!). I’ve played plenty of stealth games before, but the mechanics in this one are one of the worst because it significantly hampers the stealth aspects.

    Farcy 3 is mostly a sandbox game. It is fun at first, but many elements like finding relics are tacked on. Overtaking enemy compounds are wildly fun at first, but quickly become tedious.

    The game is kind of split into two parts. The meat of the story is in the first half. I found no reason to play the second half as the story tapers off significantly, and the difficulty skyrockets to laughable heights. This left me very little reason to keep going.

    Everything about the weapons is top notch. Their looks, feel, and use are one of the best of any shooter. This was one of the best aspects of the game.

    Although somewhat unimportant, another head-scratcher was the wild animals that deplete your health way too easily. Getting attacked by a komodo dragon is worse than getting a point black bullet by an AK47. Additionally, falling from very short heights took away a lot of health.

    The game seems like the graphics should be good. They are very pretty if not moving. I had an insanely bad framerate/screen tearing problem that was far and away the worst of any PS3 game I’ve played this gen. It was almost unplayable.

    I got this game for my 19th birthday I love it but I must say it is bloody hard though and the missions were quite hard as well but its a amazing game

    Multiplayer is split in two parts. There is the (online) coöp multiplayer which also presents a (shallow) story which lets you go through a new campaign with four players. Quite enjoyable overall and good difficulty rating.
    Than there is the competitive MP, there are some variations but you can find the majority of the players in team deathmatch. Overall, there are at times a few technical difficulties (long loading times, screen freeze) but in general well worked out.    … Expand

    I just started playing this game and I am already hooked. There are no dull moments. On several occasions I have come close to jumping out of my chair and run down the hall screaming like a little girl. crocodile, sharks). Very intense graphics and mechanics pretty nice.

Innovación: Este apartado lo borda, nunca jugue al 1 y al 2 solo el principio, pero no conozco ningun juego que sea Shooter/Sandox en una Isla repleta de animales (Osos, Tiburones, Tigres, Cerdos...etc) los cuales puedes matar, cazar... Conclusión: El mejor juego del año de largo para mi es Far Cry 3, aunque aun me queda por probar Assassins Creed 3, pero dificil tiene que supere esta obra maestra.     This game would be another mediocre FPS if not for the story and the truly amazing visuals, but the ending is harshly disappointing (more than ME3 XD), and the gameplay has many flaws.

    I can't even begin to describe how great this game is. Open world to explore, good selection of weapons, animals to hunt, stealth gameplay that works amazingly, and a wingsuit. The plot is decent, nothing to write home about. The gameplay is really fun and fluid. The visuals are some of the best on consoles. The multiplayer is fantastic as well.

    This game has a great story and a beautiful, big open world! If you love open world games, then you should definitely buy this! So much to do in Far Cry 3... Hunting, collectibles, Take a boat and just go anywhere you want... Then why not a 10 or 9? The MP isn't a lot of fun and the co-op hasn't got a quite exciting story either

    Despite being hampered by a well meaning, but ultimately interfering, plot, Far Cry 3 has evolved into a decadent, playful and exciting title. Be it quality programming, dumb luck or a mixture of them both, the game plunges you into a thick, gloopy world of sugary gameplay, shimmering visuals, intoxicating audio as well as a great deal more. It's long, stupid and buckets of fun - just what you need to burn away the winter blues.

    Far Cry 3 is a terrific and is one of the best games I've played in a long time. Far Cry 3's main draw is the deep and engaging campaign, but the multiplayer modes are also serviceable enough to keep you playing for a long time.
