Well this is a personal favourite, the quests, the storyline, towns, weapons are all bigger and better than fallout 3. Its a shame this fantastic game is overshadowed by glitches, lags and constant freezing.
They dont occur very regularly, but when they do, you have to reset the system. Frustrating, but if your willing to sacrifice the occasional reset then i highly recommend Fallout:New Vegas

Fallout: New Vegas is an amazing post-apocalyptic RPG experience that brings Fallout franchise back to it's masterpiece roots and definitely way better than Fallout 3 ever was. More in my New Vegas review, but on the other hand, speaking about DLC's that are added to this Ultimate Edition, I must admit that it is something that might have been a lot better. Basically 2 DLC's are good - Old World Blues and Dead Money and 2 are are pretty meh - Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road. As I was disappointed with the original Fallout 3 by Bethesda, I felt that all the DLC in the GOTY version helped to spice it up a bit and it increased the score from me from 7 to 8. With Fantastic 10 score masterpiece of the original New Vegas I got the exact opposite feeling, that going through those DLC might be a bit tedious at times and might actually hurt the overall experience, so I would recommend playing only the main New Vegas and maybe adding Old World Blues and Dead Money to that, so for this full package, I'm decreasing the score for The Ultimate Edition from 10 to final 9/10 Expand

One of the best role-playing games out there. It's a shame the game has as many glitches as it has, but the fun questing, flexible character development, music, and branching story make for an experience that is both worth it and filled with replay ability.(played the game twice, still haven't seen and done everything)
    +Flexible Story
    +Great Value
    +DLC Packs included
    -Runs Poorly
    -Still bugs

The ultimate Fallout experience. They got rid of most bugs of the main game. Then you have the added wonderful DLC content. Each one alone would be a good addition, all together are priceless. Each one alone would be a good addition, all together are priceless. Since I already rated the main game here is a short description: You play a courier that got ambushed while delivering an unknown shipment. Here the game starts as you will uncover the truth about the shipment and change the future of the wastelands. Fallout is about exploration, character development, dark humour and interesting stories. In this game you have a reputation system with different fractions. Basically the more you help them the more recognised you get (Helps with support, in quests, getting access to restricted areas or you will get outright attacked even by assassins if you anger them). There are of cause missions that favour one faction while anger another at the same time. Chose wisely. There are 3 mayor fractions which you have to chose 1 at the end of the game or you can do your own thing. They added a crafting system to the game which gets expanded in the DLCs. For the DLCs: You got “Old World Blues” which is the dream of sci fi and B-Movie fans. You got mad science / inventions, so many references, interesting stuff and awesome ideas. Its my favourite DLC and even ability / perk wise the best addition to the main game. In “Dead Money” you will get shanghaied into a casino heist with some interesting new characters. Lets say it gives you some good opportunities. In “Honest Hearts you get into the Zion National Park and into tribal warfare. You will meet the legendary burning man and shape the future of this lands. At last there is “Lonesome Road”. Its the final part of Fallout New Vegas story. You will get the final revelations how all started and meet a man which life you have unknowingly destroyed. Its the final battle(?) between couriers. This is how DLC should be done. I am not a fan of DLC in general, but here each DLC had impact and lot of entertainment. I like the stories and characters in the game (The dark secrets of the vault are always a highlight). They added even more memorable characters here. Overall this is the best version of the best modern Fallout game. The content will engage you for probably more than 100 hours and the game is nearly free of (game-breaking) bugs. Plus: It should be cheap now (Less than 20$). Expand

I can't lie, this game runs terribly- massive frame drops, freezing, crashing, audio and visual glitches. Yet I've still given this game a 9 because if you can power through the bugs there is an incredible game underneath. This game would have been a 10/10 no brainer if the game ran better but even with all that i would still highly recommend the game. With regards to the dlc, Dead Money is good 7.5/10, Honest Hearts is ok 7/10, Old World Blue is very good 8.5/10 and Lonesome Road is pretty bad 5.5/10. Admittedly, with the exception of Old World Blues the dlc is nothing to write home about but the main game is something special. Expand

You don't have Fallout: New Vegas and you like the franchise? Then the Ultimate Edition is a perfect way to get hours of action RPG gameplay for low money, because the Ultimate Edition combines the great basic game with all patches and DLCs.

Everything there was minus the bugs. That has to be enough for one step up the score-ladder. Yes, but only because New Vegas doesn´t reduce itself to just more stuff, but also offers a high level of storytelling that even in RPGs can´t be found that often.
