An okay effort, it's just not a "next-gen RPG."
-
The game is just as strange and flashy as it looks – but among that weirdness is a game that’s pretty darn fun.
-
A pretty, mostly typical RPG wrapped around a deep, compelling battle system and more than 100 collectible monsters.
-
PSM MagazineEnchanted Arms uses all the familiar constructs of the genre, playing as if developers went down a checklist of what a Japanese RPG should feature and made sure to include them all. [June 2007, p.82]
-
Tacking on the motion controls has really weakened Enchanted Arms’ improved outing on the PS3, shoe-horning completely out of place and unfocused pad-shaking into an RPG and forcing players to accept it as necessary.
-
Play UKJust be sure you've got a book or PSP spare for those, frankly, unbearable loading times. [Issue#152, p.78]
-
Enchanted Arms is a capable and often enjoyable role-playing game, but it's also one that you'll likely forget as soon as you finish it.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKIt provides some fun. [June 2007, p.68]
-
There's nothing here that stands out. You've done it all before.
-
The thirty new Golems and the Sixaxis support don't really offset the loss of online play. However, if you're just looking for an RPG to pass the time, you could do worse than Enchanted Arms.
-
games(TM)Combines lovely visuals and irritating characters to create an uninspiring romp. The strong story is limited by genre fail-safes while the combat is suitably tactical. [Apr 2007, p.131]
-
Enchanted Arms does nothing that particularly stands out, and there are superior experiences to be had on inferior hardware.
-
It features a yawn worthy story involving a guy named Atsuma who has a mysterious past and a secret unknown power that could potentially save the world. As I said, yawn.
-
After a few hours, it feels like you're going through the motions instead of getting caught up in the story and characters.
-
Maybe if there was a little less fighting and a little more convoluted storyline, Enchanted Arms would be more bearable.
