    One of the worst games I've ever played. In first instance I thought It was a good game, with a little number of avaliable fighters but a good game, but when I tried it I discovered how bad It really was.
    Apart of the fact that DBZ games are becoming worse as time pass, I must say that this is the worst one.
    I have to say that the team-battles are a good idea but it is bad implemented.    One of the worst games I've ever played. In first instance I thought It was a good game, with a little number of avaliable fighters but a good game, but when I tried it I discovered how bad It really was.
    Apart of the fact that DBZ games are becoming worse as time pass, I must say that this is the worst one.
    I have to say that the team-battles are a good idea but it is bad implemented.
    The controls of the game are quite simple, and the freedom of doing differents thins is practically 0. The only goal on this game is to press triangle an triangle+circle until all the enemies are dead.
    You can't transform yourself during combat and you can't also recharge energy while you are fighting.

    This game also tends to be proud of having the original music of the series, but this only happens on the openning with the cha-la-head-cha-la (The only thing I loved).

    So, this is game isn't good at all and, for the ones who are saying that the innovation of this game is very important due to multiplayer battles, they should took a look to Dragon Ball Z Tag Team, that was a really good game.    … Expand

    It's hard to find something positive about this game, when combat system and AI are horrendous.
    Stay as far away from this game as possible or you will need medication soon.

    i bought this game two days ago, i was really excited and it turned out like crap, i don't like the story line and i hated the idea of playing with people online, THIS IS AN IMPORTANT KEY, i was under the impression when i bought this game it was going to be like the others, the ability to fight two player and fight computer. WRONG... you can't fight computer, only if it's story mode, NOi bought this game two days ago, i was really excited and it turned out like crap, i don't like the story line and i hated the idea of playing with people online, THIS IS AN IMPORTANT KEY, i was under the impression when i bought this game it was going to be like the others, the ability to fight two player and fight computer. WRONG... you can't fight computer, only if it's story mode, NO CUSTOM BATTLES, you can't fight any friends unless they are on their own system and it's under an online match. oh yeah i returned it the next night and got my money back, i think whoever buys this should do the same… Expand

    I give this a 1 just because the game play looks awesome. The team battle.... okay but why cut out the one on one? The menu is new, surely a plus. Im loosing my faith for the makers of DBZ games, at one point it was the best ever, tons of fighters, transformations, interactive backgrounds, and the payer combos were kind of free.     This game was really not worth the money spent. We - my siblings and I - barely had it for a couple hours before we were done with it. My step-dad played it for less than 5 minutes before giving up because no one had any idea what was going on at first and once we figured it out it became so easy and boring just pressing triangle till everyone's dead and there was always so many charactersThis game was really not worth the money spent.     An insult to dbz games!
    -Terrible camera that is as annoying as possible
    -Can choose 4 Types of characters in a team( like 4 goku's) terrible idea.. which makes it feel realy fake..
    -only plus side is the oke kinda pvp team like online stuff
    stil DONT BUY!!! waste of money and time

I have unlocked all the Broly forms and to this point in the game have only MAYBE been revived by my teammates 6 times. The enemy bosses ALL have instant transmission, explosive barrier, unlimited energy, and the ability to makeOVERPOWERED ENEMIES, UNDERPOWERED ALLIES, CAN'T BUILD UP KI WITHOUT LANDING BLOWS WHICH IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. This game has so many reasons not to be played. I have unlocked all the Broly forms and to this point in the game have only MAYBE been revived by my teammates 6 times. The enemy bosses ALL have instant transmission, explosive barrier, unlimited energy, and the ability to make themselves invincible to your attacks leaving you vulnerable no matter what you do and unable to do any damage to them as they easily mow down your whole team. Then when you unlock the character you just fought for 3 hours to unlock, they have none of these abilities and you continue to play as the same characters and dodge in circles and repeat the same moves OVER AND OVER AGAIN in EVERY BATTLE. NONE of the victories in the game are worth it since they reap no real benefit to the player. Legendary super saiyan Broly should NOT flinch when getting combo'd by KRILLIN. URGH. 3/10… Expand

    Now I consider myself a huge DBZ fan, so for me to actually give a DBZ game a 3, that says a lot. Like other people have said, this game is more focused on a battle royal. I think the intentions of the game makers were good, but the outcome was horrible. I played this game for two days to try to get into it and I just couldn't. I wouldn't recommend even wasting your time on this game to beNow I consider myself a huge DBZ fan, so for me to actually give a DBZ game a 3, that says a lot.     This is probably the worst Dragon Ball game I've ever played. The whole game is built around this "mission" theme, always telling you to beat up/kill characters. That's the whole premise of this game. Each mission is connected to a famous Dragon Ball arc, which IS pretty cool, but the fights themselves are repetitive and boring. There's a cutscene for every mission, but they don't make anyThis is probably the worst Dragon Ball game I've ever played. There's a cutscene for every mission, but they don't make any sense unless you are a hardcore Dragon Ball fan and know the anime by heart. Luckily, most of the missions are optional, so you can beat the game without beating even 50% of the missions.

    I can't recommend this to anyone. The choice between English or Japanese voices are always a great addition, but paying even 15 bucks (got it at a sale) is a rip-off.    … Expand

    Some good ideas are not enough to revive Dragon Ball Z. The combat system is far too simplistic and the mechanics show a lot of problems that make this game mediocre.

    A follow-up to the Dragon Ball beat them up world that will engage only those fanatical fans of the series. Otherwise, it's a dreary and straight-lined hack and slash action game that will never be more than that, even with its option to play as villains, which is attractive only at first sight.

    What ultimately sinks Battle of Z isn't the little fan nitpicks, it's just ill-conceived design as a whole. It's certainly not the worst DBZ game ever released, but if there's ever been a statement that's damning with faint praise, that would be it.
