    Pros- -More DMC!
    - free if you pre-ordered
    - has a few Bright spots.

    Cons- cutscenes are mixed with cheap cartoons.
    - 3 hours long.
    - Not nearly as awesome as the real game.
    - action, story, and overall experience was a bit lacking.

    Vergil's Downfall chronicles the events that transpire after the conclusion of the main game's story. The DLC contains a new playable character with a completely different move-set to Dante and six brand new missions to play through. I'l keep this short to avoid spoilers. The game play is very entertaining. The plot seemed average at first, but upon replaying it I noticed a lot ofVergil's Downfall chronicles the events that transpire after the conclusion of the main game's story. The game play is very entertaining. The plot seemed average at first, but upon replaying it I noticed a lot of symbolism and ways to interpret just what is going on in the DLC. The soundtrack isn't as memorable as the main game. The visuals still look great but some of them (quite a lot actually) are ripped straight from the main game. If you enjoyed DmC, this is worth the price tag. If not, you probably won't enjoy this.
    Also, for those of you who tremble at the thought of Dante's new look, this DLC has a white haired protagonist.    … Expand

This time you take control of Virgil after he was defeated by Dante in the end of the main game. The story follows his trip through limbo as he fully embraces his demonic heritage and vows revenge on Dante which will be in sequel that would most likely never come. The problems and strengths of the gameplay are present in this dlc but there are a few tweaks. For example, Vergil's devil trigger gives him a shadow puppet that attacks the opponents based on the input from the d-pad. The dlc gives you six more missions to play with and the combat is still smooth but the problems are more apparent without the weapon variety. The final mission involves a horde mode that is just as unforgiving as the previous games and will test your limits. As far as the story is concerned it is an interesting character study for this incarnation of Virgil but it is plagued with obvious symbolism and a predictable outcome. The new demons are tough to bring down and could even act as mini bosses which take a lot of hits. Your tolerance for these enemeys will depend on your level of patience. With all of that said. Vergil's Downfall is a nice package with a fair share of problems and I reccomend you play it with caution.… Expand

    A great add-on with an entirely new character to learn, Vergil's Downfall might not set the world alight with storytelling or environmental design, but the core combat is still so fantastic that this is well worth a look. [Issue#230, p.79]

    The cutscenes consist of 2D-animations, a sign that Ninja Theory didn't put everything they had into this DLC. But to be fair: playing with Vergil feels like a completely new experience. [April 2013, p.88]

    Vergil's Downfall, while unable to reach it's full potential, isn't terrible. Vergil's unique combat mechanics are fun and engaging, but everything else just feels too lazily slapped together to ignore.
