Apr 22, 2013The Knife of Dunwall ends with an interesting choice (and foreshadows the next planned downloadable chapter in Daud's story), but the real payoff of this DLC is how it takes the cocktail of discovery, exploration, and combat that made Dishonored so delicious, and adds an engaging twist.
-
Apr 22, 2013The Knife of Dunwall grabs hold of one of Dishonored’s more provocative threads and handles it with impressive respect and grace. In a perfect world this would lead countless one-off stories indulging in Dishonored’s intricate universe, but as a single piece of content its best viewed as a glimpse of its lingering potential. The Knife of Dunwall keeps Dishonored’s spirit right place, it’s just not finished yet.

Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxAug 25, 2013Arkane Studios' biggest achievement is that it has created three exciting and fun to play chapters that would have fitted perfectly in the original game's campaign. [May 2013, p.96]

Apr 18, 2013I still enjoyed it from start to finish, thanks to the excellent gameplay and visual design, but it's disappointing that there isn't more urgency in the storytelling.
-
Apr 24, 2013The Knife of Dunwall is a good, solid DLC, that strives to give you more of what made the main game something special. This only serves to show that Arkane can trust in the base mechanics they thought up for Dishonored. It's just a shame it only really gets going soon before the credits roll, so make sure you're prepared to pay up for a follow up to this.
-
May 20, 2013This all adds up to a mixed bag of a conclusion. The quality of the action, the design of the maps and the addition of novelties for Daud is top-notch and deserves credit. Arkane themselves earn great respect for supporting the title with narrative-based DLC ensuring fans are sated. But in so doing they perhaps dilute what’s gone before.
