It's as if Ubisoft listened to everyone's complaints regarding the first Assassin's Creed and personally promised that they'd address them all. And what did we get? A sequel where everything comes together perfectly to form an exciting open-world adventure through 15th and 16th century Renaissance-era Italy.

Players control the charming Ezio Auditore da Firenze (literally right after birth) in a classic tale of revenge that ends up becoming much bigger than Ezio could ever have imagined, and while the plot doesn't have much of an emotional depth following some early familial developments, it introduces more than enough characters and beautiful locations to keep the player entirely interested, and the twists and turns the story takes are truly thrilling.

The game starts off at a leisurely pace, there's a few too many Assassination Contracts, and after playing later Assassin's Creed games, Ezio's somewhat slow climbing speed and the overblown combat system can at times feel slightly antiquated. Furthermore, Desmond's story feels both promising and yet pointless, but thankfully he can be mostly ignored. Aside from these issues, and perhaps some other very minor flaws that will affect individuals to differing extents, this game is without a doubt worth any gamer's time, even if they have no interest in the rest of the series.

Assassin's Creed II blows the original out of the water. The game-play mechanics have improved ten-fold (although there is still room for improvement), the music is nostalgic and the characters are actually likable. The narrative is far more gripping and interesting, offering a long, action packed murder spree!

First Assassin's Creed game I played. And maybe the best. The game was long but never boring. The story and plot were great. Music and atmosphere were top notch. The gameplay was great as well.

(I played this in 2011, I'm just now writing the review)

The game is great and all, but oh my the sh*tty cash grabs it left in its wake... A great start to a terrible evil boring repetitive money-making series.

The only game so far that I, as a semi-casual player, have finished it at 100%. Really lovely and fun, has improved mechanics, good story and graphics.

The protagonist Ezio is one of the best main characters in video game history. he's realistic, badass and extremely charismatic. the game is full of memorable characters which are virtually unforgettable. Another awesome feature is that you can buy weapons and armour from shops which really expands the experience. However I couldn't care much about the side story with abstergo and Desmond. But even with that it's a must own for everyone who is into video games not just a fan of the franchise. It truly is amazing in ever aspect. Expand

Comparised to the original sequel, this game feels as a new franquise! Enjoyable characters, Ezio auditore, in my opinion, the best assassin, over Altaïr, connor, Kenway, etc. This game is like another prince of persia, masterful, the best assassin´s creed, in my opinion.

This Assassin`s game was the last masterpiece in the serie. In my opinion everything went downhill after this one, so when the Ezio collection comes out for Ps4 I will most likely buy it. I can recommend this game for everyone.

Like usual, it makes you think you are in some kind of tv show with all those plots, twists, intrigue, conspirations, etc... Ezio is probably the more chrismatic character in any AC game, and him and other characters are well played and voice acted (specialy the spanish version). If you remember AC1, then would htink this game was more of the same, but it wasn't. Yes, it had quite the repetitive missions too and sidequests. But much better masked. Sadly the rest of the series took this same way, and thats why after AC2 none have surpassed it or improved. Yes, maybe they chanegd little things, improved combat mechanics... but was alwyas the same. Sadly too, this kind of games is full of bugs, not to mention sometimes the controls will spoil the gaming experience, to the point to wish to throw your gamepad. Expand

This game takes me back to 2010, back when I would watch my dad play this game. I never knew what it was about, but when I went to it and played it, it's a masterpiece of a game. Nothing can beat this game, although it isn't my favorite game ever. NOTHING beats this game for me.

Huge improvement from the last game! The only thing I had an issue with was the area's of San Gimignano and Forli. Didn't really find it necessary to put missions and collectibles in those area's when you are only going there for one mission. Other than that, I highly recomend this game

He vuelto hace relativamente poco a jugarlo.

[Games are] about delivering a world that you want to invest your time in, full of characters you can have an emotional connection with, and Assassin's Creed II does that almost perfectly. [Dec 2009, p.102]
  3. Assassin's Creed II is such an improvement compared to its predecessor that it feels like a completely new game, rather than just a sequel. The varied missions really shine and the narrative is very effective, in all it's Forrest Gump-esque glory. Despite the quite slow start, Ezios adventures in beautiful Florence and Venice both look and feel amazing, and are well worth experiencing to the very end.
