Official PlayStation Magazine BeneluxAug 25, 2013Not every game (or player) needs a riveting story, sometimes some fun gameplay is all it (and the player) needs. Unfortunately nobody told Visceral en EA that. The Devil's Cartel is nothing more than “Duck, Shoot and Reload”, until the end of times. [May 2013, p.80]

May 12, 2013The Devil's Cartel takes what made the original Army of Two intriguing and replaces it with quick and simple gameplay that doesn't require much skill. Together with a weak script, this shallow experience is only for the most devoted of fans and trophy hunters desperate for another Platinum.
-
Apr 12, 2013Scaling itself back for a more "pure" co-op experience just doesn't work for this franchise that benefited so greatly from borderline parody. For that reason alone, The Devil's Cartel is an awkward one to recommend.

Apr 2, 2013The very definition of a mindless shooter, EA Montreal’s latest — the third in the middling Army of Two series — is a stripped down, by-the-book, bereft-of-imagination bang-bang that left me less satisfied than a parched man served a salt lick and an empty glass.
-
Play UKMay 27, 2013A humdrum shooter that runs on unabashed machismo and is completely devoid of imagination. [Issue#231, p.68]
-
Apr 1, 2013We'd have hoped that if a third iteration in the series was done, it was with the overall goal of surpassing the quality of the two average previous games. But the Devil's Cartel ends-up being a sub-par TPS, bugged, limited, uninspired and even lazy in its game design.
