Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaPossibly the greatest movie-inspired title ever. This positively oozes atmosphere and is a must for the fans. [Mar 2010, p.72]
-
A game that's going to stoke the hearts of anyone who ever fell in love with the original films – which is likely anyone who's ever picked up a game pad.
-
In conclusion, Aliens vs. Predator may not offer anything new in terms of gameplay and features a relatively short campaign mode, however it’s actually good old fashioned fun and if you’re a fan of either of these two franchises, than you’ll definitely be alien heaven.
-
Aliens vs. Predator is gory as hell. Only minor drawbacks such as the missing subtitles in the diary – at least in the German version – impair the atmosphere. The space marines are simply too average like in any arcade shooter, but to hunt as a predator or an alien is very entertaining.
-
The controls for Predators and Xenomorphs may be a bit tricky and the AI sometimes doesn't show any "Intelligence" at all, but nevertheless: AvP is a most-have for fans of the movies, as well as the games - especially if you're into absolute multiplayer-mayhem and don't mind "some" gore.
-
Its atmosphere, concept and overall proposal are of great quality, but it fails in some little things, and sometimes those little things are very important.
-
Overall, though, Aliens vs. Predator is a dream game for fans of the source material and, despite lacking a slick coat of whiz-bang graphical polish, ranks as one of the most unique and absorbing first-person titles for the PS3.

Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)AvP's multiplayer is gory, gratifying, and will bring an evil little smile to your face. [Apr 2010, p.76]
-
Aliens vs Predator is quite a unique game. You can play with the three factions in the singleplayer and the story of each faction is coming to a climax at the end of the game. After that, you can also play the multiplayer with a few different modes and the most interesting part of the multiplayer is that you can play with the three factions in one map, that delivers very chaotic, but funny gameplay.
-
Play UKThe variety, fan service and attention to detail here make AVP a must-have for fans of the franchises, but thanks to a variety of inconsistencies and flaws, it fails to measure up to the 1999 PC title of the same name. [Issue#189, p.59]
-
Despite the years since the last installment, the formula continues to be fresh and witty.
-
While there is a lot to like in Aliens vs. Predators, it's far from a great game. There's usually something to complain about at every turn, and every great element is flawed in some small way. Despite these faults, mistakes, and missteps, it's still an utterly enjoyable and unique experience, making the game more than the sum of its parts.
-
Aliens vs Predator is a pretty cool addition to the epic of the two races, violent extraterrestrial beings. Although the graphics are not state of the art and the game's not the best first person shooter out there, it gives the chance to live the terrific environment of the movies and it's loyal to the spirit of both characters.
-
You won't be buying AvP for its single-player though, and if you are you may find yourself sorely disappointed. Rebellion has built AvP around its multiplayer, which is both well-constructed and surprisingly well-balanced.
