It has made the game feel more responsive and added more immersion thanks to the fans animations and various chants.
-
The ultra-deep Career mode will keep you playing for weeks.
-
With a strong showing, 989 Sports' World Tour Soccer 2005 shows that the developer may have the makings of a dynasty on its hands.
-
Although the game won't make its competitors sweat, it will definitely make them keep an eye out for future World Tour Soccer games. [June 2004, p.86]
-
The tight controls are a cinch for novices, but obsessive attention to detail will score with fanatics.
-
It does many things right, and if youre a moderate soccer fan, you cant help but to like this years World Tour Soccer.
-
The pieces dont fit completely together and the delay in the control takes the blame for that one. Combine that with a basic camera that could be doing a lot more to show off the action and the experience loses a bit of its luster in practice.
-
Although it hasnt made up any ground against its competition, it doesnt step backwards either. What World Tour Soccer 2005 does offer is an enormous variety of options ranging from over 900 teams to 18,000 plus players.
-
And not to have online gameplay in a time where online games are up and coming? For the PS2 not to have it's flagship game online is not right.
-
Play MagazineWhile World Tour Soccer 2005 may not play better than "Winning Eleven 7," it's certainly a nice alternative to EA's "FIFA." [June 2004, p.71]
-
Despite its great game modes and the amazing lineup of teams and players, World Tour Soccer 2005 doesnt quite live up to the reputation or expectations of last years amazingly addictive game.
-
The problem is with the consistent near-perfection reached by the "Winning Eleven" series and EAs "FIFA" efforts providing overwhelmingly solid presentation, its very, very hard to find any reason to recommend this game when the same chunk of change will buy you a more polished and frankly engaging experience.
-
Action oriented fans should steer clear of this title, but those looking for an accurate soccer experience should at the very least give this title a try.
