Filled with enough chaos and wicked humor to forgive the slight reliance on platform clichés, Whiplash really is a hell of a game. With a little more polish before release, this game could have been a true masterpiece.
-
It's not insta-classic material, but it is a fun game that exhibits solid gameplay and a good sense of humor.
-
Its humorous tone and extremely satisfying random destruction really make it worth playing.
-
It's addictive, funny, and will make you feel more than a little sad when it's over.
-
Whiplash's style takes it a long way; hell, any title with the power to make PETA smile and fume at the same time has got something going.
-
There are flashes of comic genius in Whiplash, but equally as many missed opportunities. While this game is good, it narrowly misses the mark.
-
Play MagazineLook past some simplistic visual designs and enjoy the bright, unique style the artists have worked into Whiplash and you'll find a solid game that entertains after you've had your fill with the holiday A-lists. [Jan 2004, p.66]
