You can't help but feel that Vampire Night is more of a step back in the genre as far as gameplay is concerned.
-
Ultimately, Vampire Night lacks the sparkle that the best examples of this genre display. It looks good, sounds okay (apart from some cheesy voice-acting) and whilst it lasts (not very long as it happens) it is quite entertaining.
-
Wants to be the PlayStation 2s "House of the Dead," but it lacks creativity and spooky bite.
-
Vampire Night isn't the best light-gun game out there, but it's still a decent game and certainly the best looking light-gun shooter on any system.
-
Game InformerIt's generic in just about every way, from cheesy dialogue to predictable enemies. [Dec 2001, p.95]
-
A solid, enjoyable romp Vampire Night may be, but it adheres strictly to the same trite concepts we've seen recycled so many times before.
-
There are a few memorable experiences to be found in this game, but in the end, this is sadly an average game.
-
I'd like a more memorable and challenging shooter for my hard-earned dough. Call me crazy.
-
GMR MagazineAverage but suitable shooter with weird characters. [May 2004, p.95]
-
Too short and on the easy side.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineStraightforward, short, yet ultimately fun arcade port. [Jan 2002, p.142]
-
It is ironic that Vampire Night should be both toothless and bloodless.
