    More impressive than the Xbox title if only for the superb visuals the game gives off. Considering the fast aging technology of the PS2 this is quite an achievement and Codemasters can give themselves a pat on the back for creating a quality port that in many ways out does the original.

    Despite its few and fairly minor flaws, V8 Supercars Australia 2 is a superb racing game packed with variety and extensive modes that’ll keep you going for hours.

    Whilst it is the #1 stop for V8 fans everywhere, it still falls some distance behind the mighty "Project Gotham Racing 2" and "Gran Turismo 3." This game is much more simulation than arcade based, so those expecting to be able to powerslide corners at high speed should look to "OutRun 2" or "Burnout 3" for their arcade racing fix.

    LUV V8s,.. one complain!! happened with V8-1 too,.. the au/vx version released a few months before the BA/VY. the livery of the cars is LUV V8s,.. one complain!! happened with V8-1 too,.. the au/vx version released a few months before the BA/VY. the livery of the cars is outdated as soon it was released,.. they should have some way to load new livery on a memory card - probably a difficult and expensive exercise for a PS2,.. perhaps such an action would be easier on the PC version.… Expand

    As of 4/05, the best racing game for the ps2 if you like racing other people online. offline is good too.

    If GT3 was the perfect 10 at its release date, TOCA 2 is a solid 8. The graphics aren't as stunning as one might expect from an 04 release, but the framerate and reality of driving dynamics more than makes up for it. I haven't found any game with a better balance of fun-to-drive vs. real-to-drive. The Semis handle like semis, and the 68 Mustang is flat out the most fun to drive car I've ever driven... if not the fasetest. Additionally, the online racing is solid- frustratingly so if you online competitors would rather be playing Eve of Destruction. If you are holding out for GT4, your are missing a bet, especially at $30.… Expand
