    Without a shred of doubt, the greatest game I have ever played. There's never been anything that can compare. I'll never forget how much fun I've had with this game, just as much as I'll never forget how much it socially crippled me. This game became a drug. Therein, deemed as Socrack.

    The whole reason I got in to gaming, THIS GAME! Socom is simply the best game of all time. Campaign gave you reasons to play it, to unlock things for multiplayer. Multiplayer was amazing for their maps and having to be tactical. No of this run and gun bull crap you see now a days. You actually had to work as a team to draft the other team.     My wife says she is a Socom Widow now, this is the only game I play and I am totally addicted to the online action. PS2 doesn't get any better than this! Without a doubt the most awesome shooting game on the market.

    This game is the best shooting game that you can get. Little lone amazing online. To say this game is bad, you are crazy, and must play like Poke'mon all day. If you would rather throw a Poke'ball than take your terrorist anger out, than you are crazy. It may lag watching your teammaters, but does it lag when you are playing? Didn't think so. If you don't know how to do it, you are a noob, and if someone ranked ensign is reading this, I don't know how one could be so horrible.     Single Player is good, but the AI was a little shoddy. Graphics were very outdated. The teamwork was the best part.

    I just got this game about 2 hours or so ago, and i have to say its amazing.... the online gaming portion of this game is amazing and for what i saw it looks like it can last a while.... Anyways im off to play again.

    A lot of fun online.. once you get on and STAY on. The sometimes unstable network gets in the way of an overall very enjoyable gameing experience. I'll be spending many more hours crouched behind enemy lines with this one...controls are easy to use, graphics are above average, and the headset works like a charm.

    I am addicted to this game, I LOVE IT. i especilally love the online mode. AWESOME GAME, not a type of game fps people would love though. ( although i LOVE fps) go RF2!!

    The best game i have ever played, great graphics, smooth sound and the headset adds a dimesion that no other ps2 game has been able to do. The best ps2 game on the market, bar none.

    SOCOM can be frustrating. But that is the point. To me, and I don't know any better, but the fact that 'you die, you reset' is as close to real life as you can get. Isn't that the point? Any closer and the CD's would have to self-destruct anytime your character died. That is what leads to the stress level, because every corner, every view, every LOS is SOCOM can be frustrating.     Awesome game, except on mission 8 under lt. JG difficulty, you will hear a 3 round burst come fromover 100 yrds away in teh fog and take out all of your guys, which made the mission extremely hard and my guys seeem to be total dumbasses and get stuck behind everything and not shoot the bad guys at the right time, other than that its an awesome game, last mission is the best

    I gave this game an 8 because of the one player adventure mode. It is fun and stuff, but if you die you have to start all over, whick makes it frustrating. I hope SOCOM 2 makes a better one player adventure. I had heard that the online play is awesome so I bought a network adaptor because I already had broadband, and SOCOM online rules. I find socom to be very addicting, i got the game about a year ago and im still playing it 24/7. To me Socom could be better than the GTA series, if there werent any glitches or lag. I played Vice city for about a month and i got bored of it, the same thing with gta 3. This game is one of the best ever, anyone who thinks else either sucks at the game, or dosnt know what a good game is.     Very well thought out game. i have had the privilege to play it before the release date and i have found it to be very well done. the microphone, voice communication, and the internet connection have brought the PS2 to a new level of fun. no doubt you will spend countless hours playing this game. I can't say enough good things about it. on my top 5 list of all time.

    This game is very good! I mostly play the online bit. I get as much satifaction from this game as I do from counter strike and urban terror. I recommend it!

    This is the hottest game out I tell you. If you say this game is bad, than u stink at the game. But if you are like me, and have your wings(captain),than the game is awesome. I would give it a 100 of 100 if i can. There may be many glitches in the game, but sometimes you just gotta have fun.

    This is where the great SOCOM series started. It's dirt cheap nowadays so pick this one for your PS2. Even if the online is dead, the singleplayer is quite tense and deep. I hope Sony re-releases this on the PSN as part of an HD collection.

    Man, I really loved this game back in the day. Commanding my A.I. squad with my voice was a fun gimmick at the time but even without that, the game was a blast.

    I’m going to be completely honest when I say this: SOCOM is kind of hit or miss when it comes down to the bottom of the barrel. SOCOM was a game that I grew up with as a child and still play today. However, it does have a few issues that might take away the fun for some people. Story wise this game lacks behind with no true direction which sometimes left me confused on what’s going on. Gameplay wise; This game is innovative for the time but may also be a hit or miss with most players. There’s no checkpoint system at all which leaves the harder missions even more difficult. However these issues don’t take away from the realism this game provides. The guns, the sounds, the commands, and even the fact you can die in a few shots are all apart of the realism which just shows you how much the developers put into this game even for 2002 standards! Overall, If you’re the type of person that is into the Military or is even curious about it, I’d recommend it. For the person who is stingy about stories and other small details, you might want to set your expectations a bit lower. Also allow me to warn you that Sony pulled the plug on Mulitplayer capabilities unless you install mods and other things on a PC.… Expand
