Though its visual style is soft and often flowery, the pace of the action is maddening and intense.
-
Beautifully created albeit slightly flawed, filled with some truly stunning gameplay moments and set pieces, it is a game shamefully overlooked by many, and is certainly worthy of greater recognition.

netjakThere's no doubt it's a fun game-- after all, who doesn't like hopping in a plane and making a rain of lead-- but its flaws make it a bit inaccessible to someone new to the style of play.
-
Game InformerThe steep learning curve and sometimes confusing objectives detract from the fun. [July 2002, p.83]

-
Enough charm to rekindle the joy of the old-style score-based blasters. However, technical problems like the poor interface, unreliable frame rate, and steep learning curve really gouge out the fun.
