  1. One of the greater traits of this game is the sound which replicates perfectly the wacky over the top 70’s effects.
  2. Although nothing special or notable for original ideas, this is how a licensed game should be done. If you’re a fan, God-forbid, you might just like it. Kudos to Artificial Mind & Motion.

Mystery Mayhem offers ex-stoners and kids of all ages a multi-episode mystery for the ages by pretty much reinventing the old Genesis "Ghosbusters" in 3D, only with all the extra refinements 3D affords. [Mar 2004, p.59]
  4. Mystery Mayhem does a fine job of capturing the feeling and atmosphere of the beloved TV series, but the overly simplistic gameplay is where the game falls short.

Mystery Mayhem is filled with such touches that you can't help but smile at, at least for a little while until you realise that behind the pretty visuals, charming animation and spot-on spot effects lies something too innocent and simplistic to be of interest to anyone other than the very young or woefully misguided.
  6. An excellent game for little kids but won’t provide much excitement for others. The gameplay is very simplified, and the action gets repetitive quickly.

Behind all the gloss and polish lurks the shadow of a game that shows little novelty in today's already swamped third person action adventure market.
  8. Even the youth market, at which it's aimed, should be able to clear enough of it to sate their Scooby urges in an overnight period, leaving parental wallets free for better gaming purchases.

A fun, well-executed game for kids and fans of the series. I just won't blow anyone away. [June 2004, p.88]
  10. Parents whose kids have Scooby-Doo hot on the brain from the movie can safely rent this one, or not, without worry of missing much.

A mixture of tedious adventuring and boredom inducing play mechanics.
  12. This is definitely a game for hard-core Scooby fans. Or children under the age of ten. Or children under the age of ten with a short attention span. Or, ideally, all of the above.

Top Scooby-Doo Game on PS2. New gameplay system and interesting levels. Great for kids. I don't understand why the rating is 55.
