  1. Rogue Trooper is so confident in what it's trying to do that it's a wonder Rebellion hasn't been able to pull this off before. The world is amazingly well throught-out, and the action just feels polished.

A surprise package that's rammed with action all the way through. It's a little easy to complete, but don't let that put you off this unexpected gem. [June 2006, p.58]
  3. It's amazing when you sit down with a game that you had the lowest of expectations for, only to find an incredibly well put together experience.
  4. It’s a third-person shooter with smooth, detailed graphics, and a learning curve set so beautifully that even non- shooter fans should love it.

Rogue's greatest asset is its variety, which constantly refreshes the experience before that "new game" smell wears off. [June 2006, p.93]

While it doesn't innovate in any one particular area, it keeps the action fresh by giving the player a ton of flexibility.
  7. One of the best sci-fi military shooters that the PS2 has seen. It's short, but with high replay value and a lot of extra content.
  8. It might not be as huge as Halo or as deep as the Call of Duty games but it is still a fun war game with enough bullets and heart to make this a worthwhile game to play this summer.
  9. With a price tag of just $30, this should be a no-brainer for anyone interested in the genre. Rogue Trooper may not do anything staggeringly new, but it combines action, shooting, stealth, and exploration elements successfully and is well worth a look.
  10. Just sort of middle-of-the-road when it comes to 3rd person shooters. The main reason is the cookie-cutter AI that seems to sort of makes the game a little too easy to play.
  11. Rogue Trooper is a pleasant surprise for those looking for a slightly different military shooter. What it lacks in glitz and finesse it makes up in sheer fun – and isn’t that what gaming is really all about?
  12. An excellent, fast paced shooter but because it launched so late in the life of the current-gen consoles, it is more likely that gamers will pick up a new 360 game or save for future PS3/Wii fare.
  13. This is a game whose execution outweighs its ambition with consummate ease, until it becomes a benchmark of sorts for a generation of underwhelming third-person shooters. Wringing the very best out of its simple and solid core mechanics, Rogue Trooper is more accomplished and enjoyable than anyone had a right to expect.
  14. A solid game, which features exciting gameplay along with an engaging storyline. While it’s a little on the short side, Rogue Trooper is definitely worth checking out.
  15. Rogue Trooper doesn't approach the inventiveness of a great budget TPS like last year's "Raze's Hell," but it's priced to move.

As generic as it gets. I played it with my HS friends, we got bored, abandoned it and forgot about it.

As the controls are great in my opinion, I don't see the point of critique that Gamespot has. I also love the imaginative and colourful alien setting and the fact, that it doesn't display real soldiers but a comic book which is seemingly critically to militarism, as it depicts war as stupid with no side more evil than the other. Non of the less there is a lot of fun in this great action cover shooter military style game. A real hidden gem! Full Review »

In the first minutes its a wonderful time of fun and nice presentation of action though , after that it get monotone and repetitive. RogueIn the first minutes its a wonderful time of fun and nice presentation of action though , after that it get monotone and repetitive. Rogue Trooper will be forgiving for those that enjoyed, but in my case is hidden in the shadows and never to appear in my memories. Oh yeah, you've seen Avatar, well this is has similarities just give those freaks guns and there you have it. Full Review »
