  • Summary: The only football game with NFL Quarterback Challenge Mode, which features four head-to-head events: Speed and Mobility, Accuracy, Long Distance Throw, and Read & Recognition. Play as an active QB or as a retired great such as Elway, Marino, Young, Kelly, and Simms.

  1. Not exactly a brain buster, this game is good for hanging out with friends, eating, drinking, and yelling at the screen...just like a real game.
  2. The soft AI doesn’t make its way into the Quarterback Challenge, easily the most fun part of the game (and developed well, it could turn into a game on its own).
  3. While [it] might not be as polished or have the better AI and all the bells and whistles of Madden, it is a very solid football game and offers up plenty of new and innovative features that Madden doesn't.
  4. Even at the highest difficulty level the game provides little challenge.
  5. It plays a decent game of pigskin and isn't exactly harsh on the eyes, but with such clearly superior titles on shelves and on the way, it seems silly to lay your money down for anything but the best.

We can't think of a legitimate reason to go out and buy this game. The Quarterback Challenge is admittedly enjoyable, but it doesn't add enough value to the game to make it worthwhile purchase.
  7. Take away the Quarterback Challenge mode and this game falls down into the hellish pit of inconsequentiality.

The QB challenge & unlockable legends make this game a must.

The quarterback challenge is the only element that makes this worth playing, save money on "Madden 2002."
