Walks a fine line between serious sim and classic Blitz action and maintains a perfect balance from start to finish.
-
Some of the best arcade football I have player in a while.
-
Consider this, you can play the game almost anyway you wish, with strict rules or with the attitude. This is a game that is highly entertaining to play and watch.
-
NFL Blitz Pros blend of a more realistic style of gameplay and hard hitting action definitely improves the single player experience without overly sacrificing the multiplayer gameplay.
-
A solid game, but the sluggish gameplay holds it back considerably.
-
GMR MagazineMidway has successfully overhauled their classic series, but it has kept the ultraviolence that made it so popular. [Oct 2003, p.68]
-
The play dynamic is still fierce, there are tons of extra modes and fantasy teams to unlock, and the PS2 supports online play. It's still a great two-player game, and the slightly better single player experience should make most fans of the series happy.
-
Play MagazineThey've gone the realism route, and the end result is a mixed bag. [Oct 2003, p.83]
-
A slightly schizophrenic brew. The true-to-the-sport side won't please the football gamers used to deeper titles from EA or Sega, and those who just like the idea of flagrant late hits might be disappointed that some of the lunacy seems to have been toned down.
