MotorStorm Arctic Edge delivers brutal off-road racing in the beautiful yet lethal and unpredictable setting of Alaska. With temperatures plummeting, sudden avalanches, broken ice bridges, and three different racing altitudes, Arcitc Edge is the most inhospitable environment in the franchise's history. In addition to the six vehicle classes from the original MotorStorm, two new vehicles (the Snowcat and Snow Machine) have been introduced to combat the ice, the cold and the snow. One has the power and size to blast through packed snow, while the other has the grip and pace to combat most of what the sub-zero conditions can throw at it. MotorStorm Arctic Edge is fit for single player action, online multiplayer or playing with friends; two to eight players can compete against each other wirelessly via Ad Hoc Mode on PSP. Alternatively, you can also compete via online multiplayer using Infrastructure Mode on PSP to make it to the summit of the online global leaderboards. Expand

  1. MotorStorm: Arctic Edge for the PS2 is still great despite missing a features the PSP game has. At its very core, it does everything that the PS3 games have been doing for years now, with the one and only major difference being the visual sacrifice.

MotorStorm Arctic Edge is also available for the PSP. Both versions are great race games. The PSP version is a little bit better, but this part is also fun. It’s got great replay value, interactive tracks, nice graphics and great audio. A good PS2 title.
  3. A seriously impressive entry on a system some may think couldn't really do the series justice, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge is exactly what you expect from the franchise, just minus the soundracks, photos and online. Still good, though.
  4. It’s clear that MotorStorm: Arctic Edge is merely just another PSP to PS2 port geared at appealing to gamers who might not own Sony’s portable system. For a PS2 racer, this is still a solid title worth your cash and the controls certainly make each race a lot easier and more enjoyable.
  5. Consider it as a stocking stuffer for the PS2 holdouts in your life who haven’t gotten around to next gen yet.
  6. The original MotorStorm and the follow-up, Pacific Rift, are both better games than this, and those who are looking to replicate those experiences will come away disappointed. However, this is still a pretty good, late-life PS2 racing game, and if you're looking to squeeze a few extra drops of life out of your PS2, then this is a competent racer for a good price.
  7. For less than thirty dollars combined, value conscious gamers looking for arcade racing thrills could surely go out and score copies of all three Midnight Club and all three Burnout titles for the PS2. How extreme is that?

MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, while not as impressive as Pacific Rift, managed to still be a fun little arcade racer on the PlayStation 2. Though I can't comment on the original PSP version of this game, I'd still say it's worth picking up if you're a fan of the series. Expand

It could have been better if it had been made by the same company that made the PS3's.
