MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, while not as impressive as Pacific Rift, managed to still be a fun little arcade racer on the PlayStation 2. Though I can't comment on the original PSP version of this game, I'd still say it's worth picking up if you're a fan of the series.

I may be looking back at it through rose colored lenses but I loved playing this game growing up with my younger brother. Not sure how well it hold up today but based on memory it’s definitely worth a play through.

Despite the graphical improvements, the PS2 version of Arctic Edge is only slightly inferior to the PSP version since its online functionality was removed. Regardless, it is still relatively good racing game.

It could have been better if it had been made by the same company that made the PS3's.

  1. MotorStorm: Arctic Edge on PS2 may not be as robust as the previous PS3 versions of MotorStorm or as handy as the PSP version of Arctic Edge (what with the being portable and all), but it’s not a bad racing game to have around if the PS2 is your only option.
  2. The original MotorStorm and the follow-up, Pacific Rift, are both better games than this, and those who are looking to replicate those experiences will come away disappointed. However, this is still a pretty good, late-life PS2 racing game, and if you're looking to squeeze a few extra drops of life out of your PS2, then this is a competent racer for a good price.

MotorStorm Arctic Edge is also available for the PSP. Both versions are great race games. The PSP version is a little bit better, but this part is also fun. It’s got great replay value, interactive tracks, nice graphics and great audio. A good PS2 title.
