Game InformerThe ironic thing is that Namco has removed the pictures of the riders during the races - that's a feature I used to like! [Feb 2002, p.82]
-
In the right frame of mind and with enough patience, "MGP2" is an absolute blast for players who want their racing semi-realistic, hard and with a convincing sense of virtual speed hitting their windshield (i.e. the TV screen).
-
The simulated gameplay is well created, the depth is more than appropriate, and the graphics are quite good, but the repetitive soundtrack and somewhat frustrating races and opponents take away from the fun factor.
-
The stop-and-go gameplay is an acquired taste but is worth it if you have patience.
-
Merely another bike sim that does not quite make the grade. Lacking intrinsic excitement, its appeal will not last beyond the time it takes to complete.
-
PSM MagazineOn the one hand, you have these lightning-fast bikes to ride; on the other, you spend most of the time making them slow down. [Mar 2002, p.30]
-
We had hoped that Namco was going to take this chance to fix the many obvious problems with the game sadly no, theyve just churned out a virtually identically sequel, warts n all. Avoid!
