Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKA jewel in the biking helmet. Accessible, enjoyable and thrilling Moto GP 07 brings a sport, and gaming genre, to life. [Nov 2007, p.86]
-
This is made for the hardcore set, there's no doubt. It is nice to see a game that doesn't phone it in for the late platform, and delivers a great title. Capcom has done a nice job, and delivered something that would have created quite a stir in the PS2's prime.
-
I've been a sucker for the pulse-pounding excitement of the MotoGP race days for a few years now, and couldn't be happier with how MotoGP 07 turned out.
-
Play UKIf only Arcade mode wasn't rubbish, this would be the complete package. [Issue#160, p.74]
-
Games Master UKThe 2007 season with all the familiarities and challenge you'd expect. [Dec 2007, p.83]
-
It’s a must for GP fans, and recommended for racing enthusiasts.
-
For those with the patience to stick it out and practice, practice, practice, there is a good single player game behind this. Biking fans and purists alike will find plenty to enjoy and keep them busy through the winter months while it's a bit too cold to go out biking for real.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKThe best bike racer you're likely to find on PS2. [Dec 2007, p.83]
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Capcom comes off like a crotch rocket vet with MotoGP 07, even though it's the publisher's first foray into the breakneck franchise since snagging the PS2 rights from Namco. [Holiday 2007, p.75]]
-
Maxi Consolas (Portugal)All the pilots and all the tracks of this season, with a handling that falls between an arcade racer and a simulation. It’s a competent proposition but there are better alternatives. [Nov 2007]
-
Provided you're up to the challenge, Capcom's motorcycle racer is a decent debut on the PS2.
-
Capcom’s attempt at bringing a strict motorbike racing simulator is a good try but it just doesn’t come together smoothly in all the right places where it counts the most.
-
It won’t obtain a negative review because it has its value, but when there are better games available it is difficult to recommend MotoGP 07, unless money is starting to weight in your wallet or you catch it a good price.
-
The course selection is world-class.
-
With limited customization available for riders (only eight!) a lack of any real explanation on how to actually play the game, a non-existent soundtrack (exactly how many hours of "vroom, vroom, vroom, screeeech, crash" can a person be expected to take?), and a limited sense of fun that other racing games like SSX and BurnOut (or even Forza 2) excel at, MotoGP 07 is a serious, hardcore game that demands a high skill level and a certain amount of earnestness from its players.
-
AceGamezA long way off from living up to previous titles in the series.
-
The problem with niche titles is that they’re basically designed to serve a specific market. If you follow the MotoGP circuit, you will greatly enjoy emulating your favorite riders at breakneck speeds making daring maneuvers at tracks all around the world. If you’re just a casual racing fan or motorcycle fan, you won’t find enough variety to keep you interested.
-
MotoGP '07 tried to be a sim and an arcade title at the same time and fails on both accounts. Players are left with a half-baked racer that isn't bad but isn't anything you should be running out to buy.
-
Yet again, the PS2’s outing plays a distant second-fiddle to the more established output of Climax on the 360 and, while graphically Milestone gets a good grunt out of its hardware, those who are eager to take their PS2 for a spin on two wheels will have a hard time choosing between this stunted effort or the ultra conservative Tourist Trophy.
-
As much as I do appreciate the realism the title so firmly embraces, the difficulty that accompanies it is just too off putting. High speed affairs are supposed to be fun, not frustrating and annoying. In the end, accelerate, brake, accelerate, brake, fall, then proceed to curse a lot is not a practice I want to get into.
-
This simply isn't what I'd call a polished game; it is below what the average racing game should be. It's largely ruined by its impairing visuals, as they prevent you from accurately judging distances, thus ruining your ability to take a proper turn. It offers the rudimentary gameplay content, and doesn't have any online gameplay to speak of.
-
MotoGP 07's sheer lack of content is offensive, given the asking price.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKFrom the drab visuals to the limp presentation, it screams 'mediocre' like a moped on a steep hill. [Dec 2007, p.114]
-
MotoGP 07 just plain looks limp next to the better games.
-
The act of driving and racing motorcycles in Moto GP 07 is a solid foundation to begin the new series, but that's almost all there is.
-
Take that 30 bones and either buy Tourist Trophy or burn it. Either way it will be better used than if you purchased this garbage.
