If, however, this is your first introduction to the Gundam series and a solid game is more your goal, youll find the gameplay frustrating and the average graphics and sound disappointing.
-
The game isnt particularly innovative, and ends rather rapidly. It is more of a Gundam teaser than a really rich gaming experience.
-
Limited button-customization, poor object detection, and sloppy beam-saber execution add to the frustrations. Still, Journey to Jaburo is an enjoyable alternative for fans of giant-robot games.
-
For a mech combat game, Journey to Jaburo isn't terrible, but it is lacking good control and the graphics are pretty sad overall.
-
Enjoyable despite its flaws, and it offers those who have never seen the original television series or its movie adaptation a condensed version of a classic part of anime history.
-
It's not a recommended purchase for those who aren't fans of the series (and "Gundam Wing" followers are advised to stay well away), but it was never intended to be anything else.
-
The presentation is really where Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo shines.
-
If you're a huge fan of the original Gundam series, this is your Game of the Year...On the other hand, if you're just looking for a fun game, Jaburo will likely bore you with snail's pace gameplay and frustrating missions.
-
Diminished quality, lackluster programming effort and PlayStation 2-unworthy effects.
-
What it does have is anime cutscenes and voices lifted right out of the Gundam Wing series, and ultimately, fans of the series are the only ones who will get real enjoyment from it.
