  1. Made Man is a fine shooter after all, not just another crime sim-bynumbers. It's nothing you've not played before, but you won't have played anything as single-minded for a while. Forgeddabout it at your peril.

All the natty Maria dialogue and realistic story threads can't disguise the fact that, at its core, Made Man is bland like breadsticks. [Dec 2006, p.81]

It's like a coin with a good and bad side - sometimes you flip it on the good side and get the really well told story and interesting situations you find yourself in, but then you flip it on the bad side and get some awkward gameplay that really should have been better at this stage of videogame technology.
  4. Made Man possesses a slew of problems that would have made this Mafioso shooter an interesting action game. Interesting main character aside, the game’s controls feel jerky and the action is slowed down by the awful aiming and bad camera.
  5. Games Master UK

Aims to be smart and slick, but comes across as dumb and crude. [Dec 2006, p.94]
  6. It’s a game with a hodgepodge of stolen ideas and video game conventions that never quite manage to be pulled off flawlessly.

While it doesn't to a lot wrong, Made Man's inability to do anything right leaves a drab and boring experience that, given the abundance of vastly superior alternatives, is best avoided by all but the most undemanding fans. [Issue#146, p.96]

Predictable and uninspiring. Best leave it well alone. [Dec 2006, p.96]
  9. Playable within its faulty parameters, yet at the same time, something we've seen a million times before, and in many ways better. Roll on the next one, please.
  10. If you missed out on the slow motion craze a couple of years ago, then this might be the game for you to pick. On second thought, just try to find "Max Payne." The poor execution to the game is where the real harm is in Made Man.
  11. In general, Made Man: Confessions of the Family Blood is a marginally passable offering, something to play if you've drained every last bit of enjoyment out of Max Payne and absolutely can't find anything else to play.
  12. The difficulty level here fluctuates more than the NYSE, with some enemies being as effective as 2 year olds while others could put an eye out from a half mile away.
  13. Only the "boss" encounters with the persistent helicopter provide anything even bordering on memorable, leaving a sloppy, completely unremarkable and tired shooter that's better left on the shop shelves.
  14. PSM Magazine

Inspired by true events, with a storyline developed by Mafia expert David Fisher, Made Man is simply a woefully slipshod product. [June 2007, p.86]

Main Man can only be recommended if you enjoy to run around and shoot things for no real reason, and there are countless other games that do better without the annoyances that accompany this stereotypical title. [Dec 2006, p.127]
  16. From its buggy, intensely frustrating gameplay to its near-absent production values, Made Man is a flat-out mess across every category.
  17. 24
Made Man's combat is as boring as daytime television, and all you do is fight.
  18. 20
It never becomes fun. It looks awful and sounds even worse. It could almost be recommended ironically as a game so bad that it's entertaining or as a basis for some sick drinking game (take a shot every time an enemy gets stuck on a corner), but it's even too bland for that.
