Lowrider is sure to hook fans of such games as "PaRappa the Rapper" and k"Um Jammer Lammy" (or anyone with a cursory interest in lowriding for that matter) butagainthis is not a racing game.
-
Despite its lack of polish or depth in just about every facet of its execution, Lowrider has a lot of heart and is notable for at least trying something new.
-
PSM MagazineThe tweaking is fun, and fans of the Lowrider culture and magazine should absolutely love it. But serious players will tire of the game after the novelty of hopping cars wears off. [Feb 2004, p.32]
-
Tacked onto another racing title, it would've made sense, but this is one of the weakest excuses for a game ever. If you can find it for $10 or less, I'd recommend picking it up for a good laugh, but beyond that it's better left forgotten.
-
Cheat Code CentralBest played at an arcade where you probably wouldn't spend more than a dollar on it. I can't recommend this title even at the bargain-bin price you're bound to find it.
-
As the subject of this review so deftly proves, a whipped-together concept by itself is not enough. I may spend a few minutes flipping through Lowrider magazine the next time I'm at the newsstand, but I'm not going to be spending any more time on the game.
-
If "Need for Speed Underground" had an inbred cousin (possibly by "Bust-a-Groove"), and that cousin was mutated by exposure to radiation, I'm forced to conclude that Lowrider would be the result.
