Play MagazineFor a game that came out of nowhere Dark Angel delivers the prime time goods and then some. [Jan 2003, p.60]
-
Just as Dark Angel is guilty of repetitive character models and backgrounds, the game design is guilty of repetitive action, which is unbelievably stagnant.
-
Unfortunately, the stealth elements fall tragically short of well conceivedits more along the lines of comically maddening.
-
I probably got very close to the end, but I just couldn't endure it any longer. The wretched camera angles, the lackluster level design and the repetitious gameplay were more than I could take for a full 25 missions.
-
The game is essentially a distillation of everything "cool" about the show, so after about five minutes of play, you start to understand why the show was cancelled. [Feb 2003, p.104]
-
Cheat Code CentralEven wedged between a sesame seed bun and two succulent patties of seasoned beef smothered in fried onions, mustard and barbecue sauce, I couldn't get Dark Angel to taste any better. This game is strictly a chuck steak.
-
Not even fans of the cancelled TV show will find anything remotely resembling fun or enticing gameplay in Dark Angel to justify the rental expense.
