Purists of the comic should take heart, because the infamous sonic clap and ground smashing jump are included, along with a number of other moves that take advantage of his fury. In fact, attacking builds up a rage meter, which allows you to boost your damage or unleash a super-powerful attack towards your enemies.
-
Even times when you have up to 8-10 enemies on screen at once the game stays as smooth and flowing with no slow downs whatsoever.
-
At its core, The Hulk is a simple beat-'em-up action game that delivers an enjoyable comic book experience with plenty of wanton destruction, as well as its fair share of flaws.
-
Whilst the games 10 missions wont last long, the game certainly chucks it at you with dozens of enemies incessantly attacking you. A variety of boss encounters provide some challenge, however theyre not the most memorable encounters that youll ever come across.
-
Too simple for its own good, yet somehow likable in the end.
-
TotalGames.netThen you meet the games other personality, the stealth bits, thrown in to remedy the aforementioned mindless repetitiveness. And its an unpleasant little turd whom you wont be wanting to spend much time with.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyThe boss battles, too, seem to borrow a page from the messy showdowns that spoiled "X2: Wolverine's Revenge." They're so infuriatingly cheap, you'll want to Hulk-smash your controller. [Aug 2003, p.120]

-
The novelty of the Hulk scenes wears off eventually if you're not a huge fan of the comic books, and the Banner sections are disappointing. Still, it doesn't anger us as much as some movie tie-in mediocrities.
-
Seriously, there is a lot to like in this game. The clean graphics, the voice acting by actor Eric Bana, the intuitive control, and the stellar physics engine are highlights, but the camera, linear level design, and repetitive enemy types help bring the game down.
-
Its disappointing to see it visibly tail off the way it does when it started out so promisingly.
-
Game InformerWhat you do in the first ten minutes is what you're going to be doing for the rest of your excruciating experience with this game. [July 2003, p.106]
-
The video-game equivalent of fast foodquick, easy, and disposable. Its main problem is that poor game design choices.
-
The bad enemy AI, poor enemy variety and extreme linearity makes it hard to want to play any of the levels more than once. In the case of the Banner levels, you won't want to play them at all.
