It's unquestionably the best F1 console game on the PlayStation 2. In fact, I'll go one step further: It's the best F1 console game ever.
-
The one thing that really stands out about Grand Prix Challenge though is the quality of the graphics and the amazing frame-rate that makes every course look sublime.
-
An accurate F1 simulation while remaining accessible to the more laid-back player. However, it's still more a simulation than an arcadelike racing game.
-
A deeper, more challenging and ultimately more rewarding driving experience than "Auto Modellista (PS2) or Apex (XBox).
-
It can be set up to play like an off-the-cuff, arcade-style racing game or can be adjusted by varying degrees to simulate the actual physics and handling of an unforgiving F1 racing vehicle.
-
Game InformerOne of those game where you can actually enjoy driving. [May 2003, p.83]
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineThe way it controls, which, in my opinion is like crap. [May 2003, p.93]
-
PSM MagazineLooks good. Unfortunately, the high learning curve will keep this a niche title. [May 2003, p.36]
-
The experience was so bland, uninspired and lacking that high feeling of drama and action that surround F1.

JimU.Aug 19, 2003The best modern day F1 sim yet - - GPL is still king but its great to run a racing sim with modern F1 cars on the current circuits.
