    this is gonna be THE game of 05 when it lands in Oz in March!!! It has all the right elements to be great, more cars, more tracks and graphics that make GT3 look like a Mega Drive game.How much further can the ps2 be pushed? It is gonna ROCK!!!

    You may think im a bit of a wimp, but It had me crying from the moment i watched the opening movie. I was sitting in my seat screaming Awesome! at nearly every frame i saw. To experience it in its true form however youll need the gt pro steering wheel. Simply put its the most beautifully developed and best game ever.

    love the b-spec it is your friend, this isn't just a game read the cover its a driving simulator, gran turismo 4 is great, go out and buy it or play at a friends just get in ur gt4 time its good for you.

    Easily the best in an phenomenal series that breaks the trend of pop culture that's been infecting the pure car game genre. Underground racers need not apply. This game is for real gearheads.

    Real driving and great fun. the controlling is easier and the graphics are 10 times better than the last one. I really love the muscle cars that are available on the gt4.

    This game will keep you amused for hours on end! There is so much crammed into the small disc, it will take ages to complete the whole game! The 4 years they spent on this one were so well spent, I would get a PlayStation3 just to have a go at it. If you don't have this game then it will be the best buy you have ever made!

Guys, just imagine how amazing Gran Turismo 4 would be..." Well flash forward to the present and my imagination couldn't even brace itself for what I've seen of GT4.     Definetely the drive of your life! It's an amazing game. Amazing! It has everything a car lover needs! Circuits, realistic driving, cars, lots of cars! The game is never boring at all and has the right difficulty. I am not a racing fanatic, but I loved it and still enjoy it a lot! So far still better than Gran Turismo 5 and surely the best installment in the Grant Turismo series.

    If you    Definetely the drive of your life! It's an amazing game. Amazing! It has everything a car lover needs! Circuits, realistic driving, cars, lots of cars! The game is never boring at all and has the right difficulty. I am not a racing fanatic, but I loved it and still enjoy it a lot! So far still better than Gran Turismo 5 and surely the best installment in the Grant Turismo series.

    If you like similation, this game is for you. You will need to learn how to drive correctly and many races are long enough to keep the interest high for months!
    This game is close to perfection, because it makes you wanna drive and drive for hours!

    The graphics are great, awesome performance system, good racing/menu music, many interesting cars, and good old and new courses! I like the car sounds too, but it is not the best.

    Another thing that i really like is that you can drive in many ways. The licences, missions, rally, a-spec and b-spec, and endurance racing!

    Quite honestly my favourite game ever made. I played it again recently and there is still nothing else like it. Of course, modern driving games like GT6 and Forza 5 have better physics, graphics and a better selection of cars and tracks but they lack something compared to to GT4. The world map containing every dealership, race course and race event is a fantastic idea and I am still yet to see a game layout that can live up to it. Of course though, a game is not all about the layout, it's about actual gameplay, which GT4 also nails. It was comfortably the most advanced racing game for a number of years and got the very best out of an ageing console. Another thing I love about this game is the rate of progression and it's sheer length. A lot of racing games allow you to jump into some of the world's fastest cars almost right from the off, whereas others take so long before you get to drive anything good that it almost takes the fun out of it. GT4 gets the balance perfect. The way you have to start by earning all of your racing licenses and gradually working your way up to unlock different types of car for different types of races is something that makes this game amazing. It is a game that is incredibly challenging to complete to 100% and that is another reason why I love it so much. Easily the best game I've ever played. A solid 10/10… Expand

The most realistic (and also enjoyable) physics in PS2, the best graphics in PS2, the most cars and tracks in PS2... prove me wrong if I am! This is my very first videogame and the one I grew up with, and it is awesome. The worst things I could find in this treasure is just silly AI in a couple of certain cars, likeProbably the best racing game for PlayStation 2 (at least) ever existed. The most realistic (and also enjoyable) physics in PS2, the best graphics in PS2, the most cars and tracks in PS2... prove me wrong if I am! This is my very first videogame and the one I grew up with, and it is awesome. The worst things I could find in this treasure is just silly AI in a couple of certain cars, like the Cizeta V16T or the Ginetta G1 (I don't remember more vehicles with this programming mistake right now; there are 721 cars in the game!) and that there are many versions of some Japanese cars that are just the same car (an example is the Nissan Skyline R34), but they're still around 600-675 truly different cars. Also, the fact of it having around 50 tracks existing in the game, and one of them being the full NĂĽrburgring North track (we're talking about over 20 kilometers of virtual road) makes obvious this game fills the DVD up to its 4.3 GBs capacity! Polyphony Digital's outstanding work with this game made my childhood a lot better, so if you got a PlayStation 2, save 1.5MBs in your memory card for this gem. It's worth it, I promise!… Expand

    But alone the fact that it's easy to sink another 100 hours with the rpcsx2 into it and alongside some HD mods, 4k resolution, various fixes and so on, into it is just simply due to the fact that this is an outstanding, or simply the best racing game of it's time that even survives it past it's console life and any other game    I can't recall how many hours I played on the original ps2.

    This game is from 2005 and there is to this day no game that even can get close to Gran Turismo 4. This is one game you need to play, even after all this years it holds up to racing games that have come out recently.

    get pcsx2 (or a ps2 if your into og hardware) and play this now it's a legal requirement. Even if you don't like racing games there is something in this game for literally everyone to enjoy.

    Arguably the greatest racing game of all time.

    Graphics:
    10/10. Absolutely amazing for the era, and although it's clearly aged they still look decent today.

    Gameplay:
    9/10. Amazing physics, very fun, and definitely a good challenge. The only complaint is that the license tests are a bit tedious.

    UI:
    10/10. Can't think of a single complaint here.

Racing games arent even my favorite genre, although I have played a lot of racing games, I love every gaming genre and im not a racing games fanatic. But this game was, and still is, just sooo great in every aspect. It offers A LOT. Huuuge variety of races, tracks, cars challenges and if you want to get it to 100% it will honestly takeUndoubtly one of the best games for consoles ever! Racing games arent even my favorite genre, although I have played a lot of racing games, I love every gaming genre and im not a racing games fanatic. But this game was, and still is, just sooo great in every aspect. It offers A LOT. There are endurance races which last 24h REAL TIME, which is really fun and incredible for its when the game came out. Driving/handling is really awesome and realistic with great feel to it, especially given the fact that it is more of a face SIM than arcade. Game that was ahead of its time im so many ways. Best graphics ever seen on PS2 and better graphics than a lot of games on PS3 and Xbox360.     This is one of the best video games I have ever played. The graphics and gameplay were well ahead of their time. It is the only game I have ever played and been stunned at how realistic it looked. The content is fabulous and it has brought me hours of joy for nearly 20 years.

    Many of us Sim racers started loving racing sims because of Gran Turismo on PlayStation 1

    This game has aged like fine wine. There are so many ways to play and replay this for years and years. It truly never gets old for me.

    This game can look almost current gen thanks to the capabilities of modern emulators like PCSX2, which basically makes Gran Turismo 7 pointless.

    An absolute must-play if you enjoy realistic racing games.

    Incredible car and track selection. Very content heavy, with lots of different classes of racing, from one-make races, endurance races, championships with high performance race cars, rally races, etc.
    And driving physics that at the time of the game's release, were the best among console games.

    Racing games today can't even capture a fraction of the experience that GT4 offered over 12 years ago. Whenever a racing game comes out I always find myself comparing it to GT4. This is the gold standard that developers should be striving to recreate.

    Top tier graphics for its time, even today looks really good.
