  1. This is about as close as any shooter's come to replicating the action-movie experience, with plenty of toys to play with and a great techno soundtrack.
  2. This game truly rocks my socks. Great gameplay, graphics, sound and value. You just can't beat it. EA shows their skill against the gaming giants in Japan and delivers another classic hit for gamers.

While the final cocktail that is Rogue Agent breaks very little new ground, the eye powers and deathtraps are extremely welcome additions to the shooter arsenal.

Rogue Agent will leave you shaken and stirred. [Feb 2005, p.72]

Rogue Agent had the premise to be a great action title, playing the villain but it isn't. Rogue Agent is an average FPS, with an uninspiring single player, with decent multiplayer.
  6. A disappointingly repetitive and average ride at a time when above-average is a necessity.

Rogue Agent does do a lot of things extremely well, though. The enemies are realistic, ducking in an out of cover, constantly moving, even updating each other on what you're doing ("He's behind the bar!" - brilliant). [Jan 2005, p.130]
  8. The strength of Rogue Agent is its online and multiplayer play.

Instead, it's a non-canon scenario set in the Bond movie universe. The protagonist is a mute antihero that gets a literal golden eye, hence the title. The game isn't exactly great, but it delivers some mindless fun. With all the different weapons and deathtraps, it's enjoyable if only in a generic sense. Eventually, the action can get repetitive. Still, fans of Bond will probably like the inclusion of all the classic villains. Overall, this is like "Halo 2", but nowhere as great. I would rate this with a 6.5 out of 10. Full Review »

The moment I saw GoldenEye: Rogue Agent in the shop shelf, I was thrilled and expected a remake of the tremendous N64 GoldenEye game. QuicklyThe moment I saw GoldenEye: Rogue Agent in the shop shelf, I was thrilled and expected a remake of the tremendous N64 GoldenEye game. Quickly I realized that is wasn´t, but nevertheless it is an okay game. The shooter gameplay is fun, the graphics are beautiful and the game comes with a lot of innovative ideas. But it has some flaws that spoil a lot of the fun. The story is boring and the missions become repetitive pretty fast. But the couch multiplayer is highly addictive. A good game for shooter fans, but I recommend the Xbox version due to better graphics and controls! Full Review »

An average shooter for the PS2. Honestly, I can't recommend this title. Nothing about the game is outstanding in any way. The gameplay isAn average shooter for the PS2. Honestly, I can't recommend this title. Nothing about the game is outstanding in any way. The gameplay is somewhat enjoyable, but repetitive. The graphics and presentation are the game's strong point, however, some of the environments are very dark and unappealing. The story is uninspired and by the numbers. The character is supposed to be a James Bond villain. However, you never get a chance to take on the MI6 and James Bond. Instead, the game pits you against Dr.No, while working for Goldfinger.
