    Let me just get this out the way: Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is the best wrestling game ever. That's not an exaggerated statement -- you will not find a better mat simulator on the market.

    I've always loved the Fire Pro series, and this is the best yet. It's the best wrestling game of the year, and one of the best of all time. Ignore the poor graphics, and appreciate it for what it is.

    It's for the wrestling fan who skips the ring entrances in their wrestling games and just wants a solid grappling and fighting experience. It's for the devotee of games with deep editing tools, who would love the chance to make hundreds of complex, satisfying characters. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns may not be the best-looking wrestling game available today, but it is in fact the best.

    There's an amazing amount of depth in Fire Pro Wrestling Returns but if you can't get by the way the game mechanics work, the way it looks or its archaic menu system then you should just keep walking because there's nothing to see here.

    Compared to many other wrestling games, FPWR is a much more old school affair, but it is also extremely details oriented.

WWE 2K14 is really good and I love it it's my favorite WWE game but it's not as good as FPR. I'm telling you go buy this. It's on the PSN Store for $10 and it's worth $100.… Full Review »

Unfortunately it is 2D and takes some getting used to when it comes to the moves you can do.
    Your patience and time practicing will pay off as it is an addicting game.

If you're a wrestling fan, you'll completely appreciate how setting up feuds and leagues and tournaments never gets old. The level of creation and customization is staggering. Just about every move you've ever seen on TV is represented or has a close equivalent in the master list. Plenty of match types and you can create your own championships. Easy to play and learn, moves are based on precise timing, not button mashing or anything the current WWE games are forcing us to do, like stopping a fast moving icon in a specific part of a bar to escape a move. There is a basic reversal system, and the big moves are easy to pull off. One of the neatest features is the CRITICAL! system where certain moves can cause an immediate injury or knockout at complete random. They are semi-rare, and will always surprise you when it happens. Older style graphics may seem lame to some, but it allows for more sprites on the screen (8-man tag match, anyone?) and fast loading. BTW, there are over 500 slots for your created characters, so you can create just about anyone you want, and have room to keep them!… Full Review »
