  1. Offers lengthy replay value by allowing players to take up a number of roles on all three sides in the otherwise fixed campaign.

For those with dedication and a love for repetitive gameplay, DW3 gives you a lot of bang for your buck. It will take weeks to unlock everything, and you can even get chunks of historical info.
  3. More a refined version of Dynasty Warriors 2 than a completely new game.
  4. By far the best aspect of this game, which really separates this from number 2, is the ability to play musou mode with 2 players cooperating.

Much like the gameplay, this sequel is highly repetitive and loaded with technical difficulties. [Jan 2002, p.78]

What if those mists could be lifted to reveal the full extent of the battlefield, with catapults and battering rams laying siege to castles in the distance?

The end result is, like the best blockbuster movies, a flawed but enjoyable waste of time.

Still the 2nd best Dynasty Warriors game. Has all the great elements, just a slightly worse version of 4.

If you could ignore the freezes (Koei can't find any good programmer) you would spend hours and hours on this addicting game. Just hack and slash and enjoy - but watch out for the archers!
