Story: this is gonna be a weird game to grade in my usual way at least for story because this game has 5 different stories and they follow the same plots as the shows witch is fine the shows are entertaining in their own right i already know the characters for the most part. but how well is it put into the game . the cut scenes are super simple and i always skipped them but if you play the story decks you get the full experience as if you are Yugi or any of the other characters witch i loved. this game really pulls at youre nostalgia strings
story: 8/10
world building: again this is a weird one because yu-gi-oh kinda has 2 worlds and i dont just mean the shadow realm but the cards them selves have lore behind them , and i know its part of the real life card game and not just this video game BUT no one has enough money to buy every card ever and that makes this game the most accessible (offcial) way to immerse your self into yu-gi-oh and for that i think sets this game apart from any other yu-gi-oh media on top of playing as the protagonists from the shows its a good feeling
world building: 8/10
Graphics: graphics are simple and the animations when the iconic monsters come out of the cards are stiff , cut scenes look like a game boy advanced game, but all of the cards are rendered really well , of course the cards individual art is really well done
graphics 7/10
gameplay: the amount of cards in this game is astonishing and i think if they kept this game updated it would have aged better . and there certainly are places i would have improved , like when you have a trap every like 5 seconds it asks if you want to use it witch gets really annoying. the card game has a lot of strategy to it and there is no card that is completely useless despite how they may seem. collecting cards and building decks is a blast and you dont have to deal with the mess of real life cards every where its all just right there
Gameplay: 9/10
sound design: i shut off my sound for the most part . it was not awful just bland , no voice acting in the cut scenes (witch was probs a good decision) but the music wasn't terrible i just preferred to play my own music over while playing this game. the sound effects were OK not repetitive enough to be annoying but not super pleasing to the ears but they did their jobs witch i guess in a game like this is best you can hopefor
sound design: 6/10
