Aug 28, 2018Ys: Memories of Celceta makes it easy to overlook its shortcomings. A likeable cast, an intriguing mystery, and smooth combat made my time with the game fly by. I hadn’t played a Ys game in over two decades when I decided to give this one a try, and I’m now convinced that I should delve a little deeper into the library of games to see what other gems I’ve missed.

Aug 1, 2018While the story itself is pretty sub-par, the characters are really quite likable, the gameplay is a lot of fun and the need to have a 100% complete map of Celceta is a huge drawing force.
-
Jul 25, 2018Ys: Memories of Celceta is a good port on the PC, but weak visuals and a forgettable story hold it back.
-
Jul 25, 2018The PC conversion is technically flawless, running butter smooth even on a modest hardware and with tons of configuration options you can make the game as pretty as it can be. I’m used to that Nihon Falcom’s games exist in a timeless bubble, always visually a bit behind of current standards but making up for that with catching stories and intricate characterizations, but it’s there where Ys: Memories of Celceta sadly fails.
-
Jul 25, 2018There’s no revolutionary story, gameplay, or graphics here, but Ys: Memories of Celceta is still super satisfying to play through.
