Jun 13, 2023I killed my wife for life insurance to finally play this game. That was probably my single most impactful decision in my life. I am now in prison, but I got to experience YIIK. Was it worth it? Probably.

Mar 3, 2023I have so many strong feelings about this game that I cannot summarize in just a couple of lines, I think basically, it was mid, had potential to be a masterpiece, lots of genuine touching moments that marked me, I really hope IV changes it.

Sep 16, 2022While the game is not for everyone, it is absolutely perfect for anyone interested in supernatural mystery and postmodernism. The story is engaging and the characters are fun. It looks fantastic as well. Beautiful, surreal, worth playing and replaying.

Jul 22, 2022IM YIIKING OUT!!! But seriously the games dialogue entirely broke for me about 5 minutes in before I even left the first area, also the writing is so bad it made me want to tear out my brain stem, carry it into the middle of the nearest 4 way intersection and skip rope with it

Apr 21, 2022I love YIIK a postmodern RPG. It is truly one of the greatest pieces of media of our times. Its very existence sets a new bar for videogames and movies alike. The subtle nods and references to other games, alongside the questioning of what it means to be an RPG in this FPS and life simulator world is truly shocking, and a wake-up call to the videogame industry.

Jan 22, 2022YIIK A Postmodern rpg is a breathtaking experience that's delightfully different from anything else that could currently be found in the games market, the visuals and music are pure art that perfectly compliment the gameplay, I would recommend this one to anybody.

Jan 22, 2019This game is amazing, not perfect but so far from the bad critics based on political views

Jan 20, 2019YIIK? More like YIIKES.
Dissonant art style with what it is aiming for, tries to have a concept but ends up shallow, characters are just cringy and boring, too pretentious, combat is an uninteresting rhythm game, story is random hot ****, etc. -

CD-ActionDec 11, 2019The problems of this game are rooted deep within and were caused by the developers’ self-admiration, their overambitiousness and poor sense of the whole medium. [03/2019, p.53]

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Apr 4, 2019A lot of good ideas and interesting concepts are run down by a poor execution that crushes the dooms the game to a grey average, where it will be probably forgotten for eternity. [Issue#293]

Mar 4, 2019YIIK is an interesting experiment in western RPG waters. It tries to emulate the world and wonder that the Earthbound game had, but only partly successful. Its combat system can be unfair at first, then repetitive and boring later. Level up system is needlessly convoluted and time consuming. But the world is bizarre and wacky, puzzles are great, and the characters are funny enough to have you invested just enough to see the game through at least once.
