Xel tries to tell a compelling story about time travel, loss, anger, and consequences, but the game just isn’t in great shape. I want to see what Tiny Roar can achieve after they patch the daylights out of Xel, or perhaps what they do in their next project. As it stands, though, Xel needs to think about what it’s done and learn from tis mistakes before it’s not grounded anymore.

A new game that combines classic Zelda-like gameplay design and sci-fi story. While the adventure part is enough to enjoy, the lack of convenience feature makes it hard to believe that the game is released in 2022. Also, the bugs are scattered all over the place to the point where it is almost difficult to proceed the game. It needs to be improved quickly.

Xel has a nice action RPG approach. Just like a Zelda clone. The story seems to get better as it goes. The fighting is fair enough. But thisXel has a nice action RPG approach. Just like a Zelda clone. The story seems to get better as it goes. The fighting is fair enough. But this game on PC has a plethora of graphical glitches. After 3 hours, I was in the Blog region and I got stuck running in a wall and couldn't move anymore. This is a small indie game, but it feels like they didn't iron out a lot of the bugs at launch. I give it 60% but you should wait a couple of patches on PC. That game has a fun potential and hopefully will get better soon. Full Review »
