Oct 16, 2023Wizard with a Gun excels at providing players with a deep magic system and a wild world to inflict it on. With the world hanging on by a thread, it’s up to you to rewind time again and again until your mission is complete.

Oct 16, 2023Wizard With A Gun balances magical gunslinging expeditions with its equally engaging crafting side. It never feels too much or too little of either…an ever-expanding adventure of discovery and mastery that players will want to embark on time and time again.

Oct 16, 2023Wizard with a Gun is a great game for those who can endure the loop of looting and shooting.

Nov 27, 2023Wizard with a Gun creates an effective mix of action combat, building, resource management, and rogue elements. The narrative has just enough mystery and quirks to keep players engaged but the focus is squarely on exploration and combat, which involve a lot of repetition but remain engaging. I love how player choices feed into the fights and I appreciate the tension introduced by the Chaos timer. The game’s art style enhances its mechanics and makes the world a pleasure to spend time in. Wizard with a Gun is fun both in single-player and when played cooperatively and gives fans of the genre a chance to find a unique playstyle.

Oct 16, 2023Wizard with a Gun is an engaging action adventure that seamlessly blends roguelike and crafting elements. It initially feels slow in the opening hours, but players who stick with it will find themselves deeply immersed, enhancing their base and character. This game offers an enjoyable experience even if you’re not a survival genre enthusiast. Plus, its multiplayer functionality adds significant replay value, making it a well-rounded gaming choice. Don’t be deterred by a sluggish start; Wizard with a Gun has much to offer.

Oct 25, 2023Other than a few small quibbles, Wizard with a Gun is remarkably successful at creating a lean but compelling gameplay cycle, with a lot of experimentation to be done between all your options for bullets, guns and special effects. The presentation has a moody edge to it, without being too dark, while the mix of 2D and 3D never rarely becomes difficult to navigate like I feared it might. Even the story, while mostly an unobtrusive backdrop to the gameplay, still contains plenty of interesting little nuggets that help build up the broken world you are exploring. If you and a friend both like crafting and shooting, Wizard with a Gun is an immediate recommendation. But if you’re solo, honestly that recommendation doesn’t become any less glowing.

Oct 19, 2023All in all, Wizard with a Gun offers players a thrilling foray into a magical version of the Wild Wild West. While there’s a lot to wrap your head around initially and the game does come with a steep learning curve, once you understand all the different crafting system, it’s a sheer joy to play, no matter whether you’re playing solo or with a friend. The fact that the game features procedurally generated maps adds greatly to the replay value of the stylish and satisfying experience that is Wizard with a Gun.

Oct 19, 2023Wizard With a Gun scratches the survival roguelike itch quite nicely. There's variety in the levels and enemies, and you're inspired to make short journeys instead of taking one long trek. The toning down of some elements, such as complete item loss on death and lack of hunger and thirst meters, means that it is a little more forgiving than its contemporaries. The presence of co-op is welcome, even if it's online only. It's a fun game overall and worth checking out, provided you can get over the clunkiness in a few spots.

Oct 16, 2023A lean roguelite that never feels like it's wasting your time, even if it's got some rough edges.

Oct 16, 2023While there are times where it feels like Wizard With a Gun doesn’t live up to its full potential as a survival game, it still succeeds overall thanks to delivering action-packed twin-stick gunslinging, a gorgeous world with nice lore to discover, and a lot of stuff to find, be it new furniture when it comes to decorating your Tower or new strategies when it comes to dishing out pain. The path of the Gunmancer may not be the most complex, but it still makes for an awesome journey nonetheless in Wizard With a Gun.
-
Nov 1, 2023Wizard with a Gun is a solid little game that you can play in small bite-sized chunks where you only do one expedition at a time, or in larger more in-depth sessions. While it does have some flaws, you cannot go wrong if you are a fan of crafting and survival games and want that nervousness that comes with the risk of losing everything if you manage to die.

Oct 23, 2023Wizard with a Gun is an entertaining game about fixing the world in five minutes, but is just a bit too repetitive to recommend to everyone.

Oct 19, 2023Whether you play solo or in co-op, Wizard with a Gun will offer you moments of pure enjoyment. It combines various intriguing mechanics to craft a distinct adventure of random exploration. The concept of blending highly customizable firearms with magic elements is a promising one, and the game successfully delivers on it. Regrettably, the overall gameplay can become somewhat repetitive.
