One of the best things in WildStar is the open PvP. I've never been that big into PvP, but the way the telegraphs work, it's a very enjoyable experience. The instance PvP is fun also but heals are a little OP in battlegrounds.

Total crap - same things as every other game trying to copy past WoW and yet same boring quests and dungeons, ay housing is fun but that's it, the rest is total crap. If its your first MMO well then you will enjoy it, for those who really love MMORPG games this is total disaster.

So what I can tell so far is that this mmo shouldn't have been an mmo and instead be a dungeon crawler in 3rd person perspective because being a hamster on wheel (grinding) and leveling got old a couple years ago and all this game has to offer are just great dungeons and raids and nothing else. Man these games developers need to get use their heads don't they? Dungeons and Raids is also WoW's only saving grace, some game developers really need to get on that and kill most of these generic MMOs.

Anyways to sum up this game:
+Best Dungeons and Raiding out now.
    +Really good end game progression
+Awesome Housing that is actually usefull
    +Intuitive Combat
-+Why do they try to keep polishing the turd that is leveling. Only people who have never touched an mmo will enjoy this.
-Too Grindy, too much by any mmo's standard (lol attunements).
-Graphics are underwhelming, sad when Mario Kart looks better since this runs on PCs and its 2014
    -Combat feels a bit clunky.
-Subscription MMO. Free if you have no life to grind items for the auction house.

This game tried to cater to the hardcore players that WoW left behind, though perhaps a bit too much...

I will get straight to the review, go to the end for my "MMO resume" to see my previous experiences and if that helps you determine my credibility on this review.

I'm having more fun in Wildstar than I feel I have any right too. I thought I was done with MMO's a few years ago, though I kept trying out new ones. A buddy of mine told me about Wildstar and by luck, I got into the closed beta from a key of another person who didn't have the time to get into another MMO. Even in Closed Beta, I was pulled in enough to submit bug reports, do surveys and everything a Beta is supposed to do. I was shocked how much fun I was having. Sometimes, I'd lose myself for half an hour or more and forget that I didn't have any quests where I was. The game is just fun at its very core.

The gameplay is based on telegraphs and skills, RNG and tab targeting do not determine your fate in this game. Besides Tera, it was probably one of the first games that really made me feel in control of my own fate. When I died, I learned something and felt that it was my fault (and not that of a cheating or buggy AI, or gear for that matter). Every skill you use is one that you must aim and connect with the enemy. The more powerful ones from the enemy AI come in various shapes, patterns and sizes that increase with difficulty as you move throughout the game.

Dynamic encounters that utilize their telegraph functions, double jumping, messing with gravity and other features constantly draw you into the combat.

And there's more than combat! The tradeskills are rich and dynamic as well. If you are a miner, then there are mineral deposits that when mined will land you in underground caverns. If you are a lumberjack, there are trees growing in wild places and you can plant your own to saw at your house. Relic hunters often find their prizes in ancient ruins and fascinating environments. Housing helps with buffs to your gameplay choice (PvP, PvE or Group Content).

And the Group Content! It's important than an MMO has systems in place for something that is Massively Multiplayer. ESO got this wrong with punishing grouping players with broken phases and instancing. SWOTR made it too easy to solo through content with a companion, with little incentive to share loot and exp.

Wildstar gives you a special currency called Renown, just for questing with people. Renown lets you get awesome gear, flair for your customization mount, decorations for your house and more. Guilds let you get access to perks that help with repairs, buffs, gear and more. They have free "guild light" type things called circles that allow you to group friends into identifiable social circles, letting you have a common chat and the ability to find each other throughout the game without the guild costs/ perks. You also can belong to multiple circles, so you can join one that might have a bunch of people interested in Firefly... just to chat.

This game is the first to make me excited enough to join review websites and share that excitement with others. As promised, here's a short list of MMO's I've played for at least 30 hours...some hundreds.

World of Warcraft- Played from Vanilla until Cataclysm, only heavily in Raiding in Wrath, but did Arenas in BC and Wrath.
Guild Wars- Only did their endgame stuff briefly in a guild, maybe 3 months.
Guild Wars 2- Played their World vs World at max level for around 3-4 months.
Rift- Always changed characters before getting to end level.
Tera- Played until endgame, didn't do anything major there as the cash shop turned me off the game.
SWOTR- Failed to get to endgame, but spent many hours and quit a few months before it went F2P.
EVE Online- Never got past 1-2 months of playing in a row.
FF IV- Only got about 15-20 hours in before I got bored.
ESO-Only MMO where I couldn't even make it through launch due to bugs.

The pve content in Wildstar is not difficult, it is different then other games so it is something to get used to but it is not that difficult that you need to be a "no lifer" to be able to raid.

It is however more difficult then most content you would see in Wildstars direct competitor World of Warcraft while leveling.

I would suggest really to find a guild while leveling just to make sure you can have a group you can talk to on voice comms to make the content go easier.

As for raiding, i can not first hand tell you if that is really that easy or difficult that is something that has yet to be seen and something someone can see from watching streams.

As for the questing, this is pretty standard just a basic simple questing system.
You go to a questgiver who gives a quest and you kill some mobs, nothing special here without giving to many spoilers.

    3. Graphics

Carbine has chosen to go with a comic like graphics with this game, whatever their reasons are or were this is not really that important.
It does however not look good for a game that runs so slow on high end pc's and is released in 2014.

Optimization of the game engine is another part where Carbine has really failed in trying to score some points.
Many people have been reporting issue during the beta and are still reporting issues about having poor fps on high end pc's

When reporting Carbine support about this they are very eager in placing the blame at the client and not by themselfs.

    4. Others.

Oops, forgot i have nothing to mention here ^^

    5. Conclusion

Wildstar is a pretty standard mmo, nothing special apart from their telegraph system.
If you would buy it just remember that you are probably going to run into some key issues with your class.
The score of 6 that i gave is because the game is nothing special and it is a score it deserves, it has many faults which should have been fixed before launch which are unforgivable.
If i would suggest anyone to buy this ? not for the first few months.

If you can wait with playing a new mmo 2 or 3 months i suggest you do that and see how the game evolves and how active the community stays.
If you really are to eager to buy Wildstar i suggest you look at some streams on twitch, they often have discounts to buy this game for a decent price.

This is where i end my review on Wildstar, hopefully you enjoyed reading it and any tips you can send me a message on twitch.

With the atrocious telegraph and MoO system, end game dungeons just are not fun, nor is the combat fulfilling or exciting, especially when being restricted to a select number of keybinds. I had fun with it for the first month or so, but I don't expect this to be a revolutionary MMO, nor do I expect it to keep it subscription based model for very long. I was very disappointed with how the game turned out, albeit after enjoying the first month of play. I tried hard to enjoy this game, with it's incredible housing system and enjoyable hover board mounts.. But overall, balance and key functionality are just not up to par and I don't expect them to be fixed without a total system revamp. Expand

    - Yes, it has some strengths - lots of features, lots of thoughts put into the endgame, really tough enemies.
    - Combat feels more interesting than standard wow "tab target" but still doesn't come near to Tera (which unfortunately ONLY shines in its combat)... to much stepping out of red templates on the floor.
    - Graphics look polished and the "overall" atmossphere of the game feel very polished - if you like the comic style
    - Sound was mostly good, though music was really annoying in some areas
    - Tons of possibilities to sink time into (skill trees, talents etc)
    - Tons of itemization slots
    - Focus on multiplayer experiences

Some need it, some do not:

    - Questionable release features like housing
    - Introduction of gamble elements into crafting (woah, I see FTP incoming)

    Negative:

    - Both tutorials and starting areas are not very imaginative. Especially the imperial start was boring as hell.
    - Mini quest boxes with walls of texts and no synchro (or some random sentences)
    - Quest hubbing is soooo 2007... and for a western mmo it starts feeling like a grind fest early on with the quests becoming increasingly boring and highly (kill that many of X) like - while at the same time the game annoys some highly disgusting mini mini games
    - World felt extremly generic - In my opinion one of the worst flaws of the game. Together with a non-existent coherent story (apart from "ow we found Nexus! And now we are here and fight... the others) the game does not manage to actually "draw" you in, zero immersion.
    - Animations often way too comicy and actually "overdone" - at one point it became really annoying to watch the hopping and sliding of my character waggling with every limb like some electro-shocked cat

    Fazit:

If you like fuzzy looking MMOs in comic style, a more action based combat system, tons (and tons, and tons) of features and the promise of a fleshed out end game experience, you should give it a try.
If you actually want to have fun playing - say, the first 40 hours of the game - you might want to skip it and go for other games that really offer a unique experience, like The secret world. Maybe they introduce a "skip leveling" button soon.

I have tried to like the game, I really did, especially since I have nothing else to play these days, so you can't accuse me of not giving it a chance.

This game is one of these MMOs that get the right idea about how the perfect MMO should be like. Unfortunately they got only about 80% of that idea, and the rest of the 20% - the part where they messed it up, kinda broke it for me.

I don't like the UI. I don't like how you are forced to hold the RMB to do anything in the game. Sure, there are addons that the game is built around the thought that you will not use any such addon to hide the cursor. Let's just say that the 1000 time you suspend an addon so the cursor appears on the screen, becomes really annoying to do.

I don't like the pvp mechanics. It's all a **** of telegraphs. There are no tactics, no aoe ccs that matter, healers are immortal unless focused by more than 3 people, and melee are screwed as ranged classes reign supreme.
Considering pvp is really important to me, this is the first time in any of the MMOs that I have played, where I don't like playing battlegrounds. This is saying quite a lot, tbh.

Leveling by questing. UTTER BOREDOM! I mean it. I didn't think questing can be even more boring than Elder Scrolls Online's questing but apparently it can. I can't take it and I'm not an impatient person. I have leveled about 6 characters to level 16 and the same thing happened everytime - I just couldn't go on anymore. No way am I going to make it to max level if the level 15 questing area makes me think that watching paint dry could be more fun.

Housing. I'm sorry but I REALLY don't care about this feature. If you do, ok, but I don't.

In conclusion, this game is...MEH! Same as ESO. It's better than ESO, ofcourse, in many aspects, but at the end of the day it fails just as much. It's not a bad game and the devs put a lot of effort into it but unfortunately some poor development decisions were taken along the way.

When Wildstar launched, I was concerned that I will have difficulties choosing between Wildstar and Warlords of Draenor but now, after 2 weeks of playing it seriously, I have decided that it's not going to be an issue for me anymore.

PS: "But why are you making a review if you didn't even play it to end game?". Well tbh, if a game doesn't even motivate me to get past even level 20, then I don't see why I should put up with the pain of leveling in hopes of some promised land to be found at max level, especially since since core mechanics and features bother me, and these are not going to change at max level obviously.

Content is not faceroll, it gives a challenge, mechanics are awesome, combat / pointing system is innovative, clear and fun.
Challenge Modes are fun and usually linked wiht quest objectives, and they give useful rewards, from the housing decor to bags, to gear with your class proficiency.
Few quests are for 2+ or even 3+ players (usually 1-2 x zone), and it's seriously easy to find a partner (or 2) to do those prime (elite) minibosses, because there's always some player around you or close that is happy to hop in your group and help you out.
Playerbase x server is big, but they not overcrowded to the point you cant find quest objectives/mobs.

There's already over 400 (411 at the moment) AddOns with the game old 1 month only. on Curse website, allowing you to really customize totally (wow style) your game in any way, from the smallest thing to the total UI restyle.

Carbine is active on ban exploiters/botters (and you can feel it while playing), they answer really fast if you submit a ticket (or even a bot report), they release patches and hotfixes on regular basis.
Forums are full of guides and tips.

I'll remove all of the negativ points save the last one when they are fixed.

Until then DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

-2 pts for seriously bugged main quest line. I mean seriously bugged once you hit the level 40+ world quests. What makes it even more egregious is the poor instructions for the puzzles in the game and then after spending time doing the puzzles you get a bug and have to redo another 30 minutes.

-1 pt for nausea inducing quests. I suffer from vertigo and while doing the Secrets of Nexus in the center room with the rotating green platforms I got physically sick. You would think the developers would realize this and find a better way to create an artificial stupidity to their quest lines rather than this. At least the devs haven't decided to flash colors randomly to induce epileptic seizures in their user base.

-1pt for poorly worded terms of service. Namely, if you use a macro to chain your abilities, something that I've done in EQ, EQ2, WoW, and SWOTOR, it will get you banned. There is extremely poor communication of this bannable offense to the players. A lot of people will get perma banned because the devs decided NOT to educate their user base on their design decision. This -1 is permanent.

As a result, PvP is a crap-shoot for player skill and certain servers can get lop-sided (skill wise) quickly while the game is still in its infancy. I like the art direction but would have much preferred a more realistic spin that would really tax my graphics card (who doesn't enjoy great graphics?). Things like house building and crafting are extremely deep and take a little time to get the hang of but can be rewarding if you spend enough time with it. Overall I feel WildStar to be a good game that has so much going on that it's overwhelming. Dungeons are interesting in that they feature much more dynamic content than I'm accustomed to. Unlike WoW or SWTOR boss fights are less scripted, meaning you will need to pay a little more attention to a fight since bosses can use abilities or move without any predictable order. Class dynamics are pretty sweet as many let you hybrid play. You can tank or DPS with one class where another can heal or DPS, and you have a lot of freedom with blending your abilities and skill improvements to a way that works well for you and the way you play. This is definitely one of my favorite aspects of the game. This is a game that requires a full month to settle into, and in my second month with it I've found it more digestible. Still, without being proactive and finding community with real life or in-game friends WildStar can quickly be dismissed. It is an MMO after all. Unlike Guild Wars you pay the $60 for the game AND have a recurring subscription of $15/month. You can offset the $15/mo fee IF you play enough to earn cash and use in-game currency to buy something called CREDD, which can be used to purchase more game time. Don't expect to earn it with just a couple hours of play per week though. Expand

I've been playing this quite a bit lately and have been very surprised by how much I am enjoying it. It is the cure for the itch that fans of early day WoW/TBC have been having for years now. A return to an MMO experience less insulting to the intelligence of the player.

The game looks very good, though it's visuals might turn some off. I was wary at first, but I find them charming and pleasing to the eye. It's a very colorful and lively feeling world that doesn't take itself too seriously, but still manages to capture your attention. The "loudness" of the game's silliness may turn some away, but I haven't found it to be overbearing. I've been pleasantly surprised in that respect.

The combat is very pro-active and demands your attention. By the first dungeon you will be having your chops tested in a way that recent MMO's have been far too scared to do. It's a refreshing change of pace and really adds to the game's appeal. You feel like you accomplish something when you take down a really hard enemy and you know it was because you played well, not just because you're OP.

The PvP feels fun and fluid, and is very fast paced. Again, skill seems to play a large factor here as well, as someone who cannot aim their skill shots will not be doing very well at all. Also, this game supports open world PvP, something that recent games like GW2 and ESO have shied away from entirely. You -will- see the other faction in the world, and on a PvP realm they will try to kill you. Great!

Audio in the game is pretty good. The tracks are fantastic and capture the spirit of the game world pretty well, but I do wish there were more variety in the tracks in-game. I've found myself re-listening to many of them as I've played, and you start to recognize the ones you hear often. The music is good, but they could use more variety.

Group content is in tall order, but you can solo as well. Wildstar's landscape is riddled with elite enemies, world bosses, group quests, and mobs that will generally just wreck your face. The dungeons require coordination and some communication. No more sleeping through the leveling process. This was a return to form for the genre imo, and I've been really enjoying it.

The housing system feels fully fleshed out, and doesn't feel tacked on at all. I've been enjoying it immensely. You can pour quite a bit of time into just tinkering around with your house and land, planting in your garden, and going out into the world with the sole purpose of finding new pieces of decor. For instance, the last boss in the first dungeon I did dropped an epic quality statue! I won it and now have a bad to the bone huge dragon statue on my front lawn! Cool!

Overall, if you've been disenchanted with the "e z peezy" philosophy of recent MMO's and have been waiting for a fully featured theme park MMO that got back to the roots of the theme park genre in terms of teamwork, expansiveness, and systems complexity, then give Wildstar a shot.

My only gripe is that the UI is a bit buggy requiring frequent reloads of the UI. For instance, name plates often disappear among other things, but they seem to patch nightly and things slowly come together day by day. The meat of the game is stable and runs well for me. I have found a total of one bugged quest. Regardless, it is a quality product.

Carbine did an awesome job to improve every aspect of what makes mmos fun. It worth a try for sure for all fan of the traditionnal mmo that don't constantly QQ to reinvent the wheel.

Let me start by saying that anybody that gave this game a 0 is a WoW or ESO fanboy that has never tried the game. I looked at most of their review history, and they either had no other reviews or WS zero and ESO rated as a ten. Granted I only played ESO during beta, but it wasn't for me. That being said, I wouldn't give it a 0 (maybe a 5 in late closed beta, but I am not going to go rate it without a honest amount of time invested). Don't listen to the trolls.

Now for the actual review, short and sweet:

Let's start with the bad... The questing, like most MMOs if you have played a bunch of MMOs, can get boring (thousands of hours in WoW speaking). There are a lot of bugs, but that is understandable for a game this large and new. Most importantly, the optimization of their engine blows, my good computer doesn't run it nearly as well as it should (but even then it is completely playing and normally not noticeable). There are some other negative aspects, but I want to point out the major pros/cons.

Now for why you should buy Wildstar. It is plain fun... the humor, the beauty, the story line and lore, all great. The single best part of WS though, is the combat. Having dynamic battles where you need to dodge enemy attacks, and maneuver yourself into the correct position to attack is brilliant. After about level 15 or so, no fight is a cakewalk and you can die if you get lazy. I also love that dungeons are extremely challenging. I am a bit of a masochist, so the joy of beating a ultra-hard boss for the first time after wiping multiple times is one of my favorite rewards. Finally, the housing system is much more fun than I thought it would be. Being able to do whatever you want with items you find throughout the world to make your character unique has been a surprising bonus, that I didn't think I would enjoy nearly as much as I do.

Let me finish by saying that I am not a hardcore player, but MMORPGs have always been my favorite games. I have been playing them since the launch of EQ, where you would fight a random mob, and site for minutes to get your health back. I played WoW for more than I would like to admit (who hasn't). That being said I honestly believe that this will be the game that overtakes WoW, and I am excited to be a part of it from the start. I am giving this a 9 based on the belief of what I think it will become, but cannot truthfully give it a 10 with the problems it has at the present.

Combat is promising at first, until the novelty wears off, and then it just becomes the same number pushing game with some dodges added. It becomes a mind numbing experience after about 20 levels of the same thing.

I do admit that I never experienced end game with raids and the much anticipated Battle Plots. I really wanted to experience it, I really did...and I tried my best to keep grinding the mind numbing game to get there...but in the end I realized that there are far better ways to waste my time than this game. I've expressed this concern for a while now but am usually met with people yelling that I'm wrong...so time will tell. My guess is that this game will be dead and free to play within 1 year. It will be cool to see how this rating moves down from this "novelty era" of the game of 8.3 rating down to when people see the game for what it is.

I wouldn't be as scathing towards the game unlike some reviews I've seen, however, I am slightly upset by the increasingly common MMO mentality of; end game (or Elder Game in this case) is where the game starts.

The more innovative moments come in the form of an expansive crafting system where you feel rewarded for making items that you can actually use, and not make an item just so then you can make another item and so on. Consider the Carbine Business Model too, which promotes C.R.E.D.D use; a system which allows you to "play to pay" or sell C.R.E.D.D for gold, marginalising gold farmers and appealing to both casual and hardcore gamers.

The housing isn't the first seen in MMOs, and might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I found it a pleasant distraction and a wonderful dimension to the game. If you don't share the same sentiment however, it can be a nuisance as it's where you'll need to go to be granted your rested XP.

The combat is dynamic and fluid, whilst the environments are excellently designed and not too demanding on your graphics card. Above all, it was the humour that I found exceptional. It's refreshing to be greeted by a serious MMO that disguises itself by not being serious. The over-zealous narration when you level up, congratulating you that you made it to "club badass" in the midst of the excessive "vwoosh" sound we're familiar with and a Level-Up splash looking like an 80's glam rock logo broke up some of the arduous elements.

Speaking of which, the questing. As I said, it's becoming increasingly annoying that MMO gamers are obsessed with the endgame content. I admit, it's the meat of the game, but it makes me question why you journeyed through all the preceding elements. In WildStar, the questing and PvE is, for want of a better word, typical. A mixture of fetching, killing, exploring and then handing in etc. Rinse and repeat and you'll progress through the game. No frills, just get on with it.

Fortunately, dungeons, adventures and PvP allow you to choose how you level up. You're not entered into PvE and obligated to stay there. You can find other avenues of interest which reward your character with loot and more.

Finally, a special mention to the setup of the skills. This has to be one of the best ways I've used a skill tree. Firstly, it was refreshing to say the least that I wasn't bombarded with skills. Instead, at certain levels you can purchase the ones you like the look of. The confusion that used to come with skills, and whether or not they were good for your build, makes this innovation something that will appeal to newcomers to MMOs and ease them in gently, whilst giving needed flexibility to more seasoned players. Further to this, the AMP system. Making little tweaks to your build can mean the difference in any given scenario. It compliments the fact that there are a variety of scenarios, so this is most certainly a well thought out addition which doesn't reek of change for the sake of change.

All in all, this game may ever so slightly be a victim of its marketing success, but not to the point where it shouldn't be considered as a welcome addition to the MMO genre. It's fun, and isn't that why we play games in the first place?

At level 14 you get your own house which is a really nice feature, giving you more rested XP, buffs and the ability to place any type of plots to help your crafting and what not.
Adventures start at level 15 and is a really nice experience, the ability to pick the path you want and see how the story plays out is really quite enjoyable, at 20 you gain access to your first dungeon which will be more of a challenge.
The environments are just amazing, each one is different with its own theme and enemies to fit, loads of variation on NPCs and interesting areas to explore.
There are so many things in this game that are just make it the best MMO out there, from what I've just mentioned to the combat that is completely reliant on your skill to aim, hard enemies, dungeons and having to survive by actually dodging stuff.
I play MMOs mainly for the endgame content and this one got so much of it right off the bat, I am going to be level 50 today or tomorrow and can't wait to start building my character more.
Always dread questing but this game makes it fun, the only bad thing I have to say about it is that there are a bit too many kill and fetchquests which can make things tedious now and then but all in all I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new MMO.

Amazing game, PvP is well balanced, and is not a cc fest. The endgame is plentiful, wildstar is well polished. Plus, with player housing, armor/mount dyeing you can make a player look pretty kick ass. Pick this game up now!

currently focusing on crafting + mining, well it's a gaming within a game... oh the market place is waiting for my creations... :)

and yes there is that quest stuff, and battle stuff...

I am (almost) beyond words (If i was completely out of 'em I couldn't write a review could I?). One, because of the people who give negative reviews of the game after cancelling there pre-order because they didn't like the beta and didn't even stick around for the final result. Two, because the crazy amount of community outreach from Carbine Studios has given me a taste of the passion this company has for the game. Three, because the game is PHENOMENAL.

Notice how I said the GAME is phenomenal. I am actually pleasantly surprised to see so few negative reviews on such a large release, especially on Metacritic. I say this because the launch had quite a few issues, but most were expected (long server queues, login issues, serial problems, etc.). The ones that weren't (Optimization problems, memory leaks, crashes, etc.) have been largely addressed by the community surrounding the game with people finding workarounds for the big problems while Carbine tries to get them sorted out. Usually the Negative Nancys come running at the smallest sign of weakness. But I know why they didn't this time. Because this game, unlike the ones they usually complain about, is freakin' amazing.

Currently, my highest level character is a level 20 Granok Warrior (Soldier path). I have done quite a bit of PvP and have had my first taste of group PvE and I gotta say, I am having more than a blast. The leveling experience has been rewarding and fresh, with plenty of small things like secret areas, path missions, and the occasional Challenge (CHALLENGE BEGINS) to keep it from feeling like too much of a grind. Lore is positively SEEPING from every nook and cranny from this game and you can get a MOUTHFUL of it without even looking to hard. The polish of the visuals is nothing short of sublime (provided you have the hardware to do the good stuff). Its world is rich and full of charm (the kind of charm us grown-up-WoW-kids really want to see). It's crazy when it wants to be(which is to say usually), wacky when it's appropriate, and impactful when it needs to be. My face lit up when I first saw the blazing light and pyrotechnics flare up around my character accompanied with a giant LEVEL UP in an awesome heavy metal font, complete with a bad*** anouncer (HOLY $#!% YOU LEVELED UP) and a guitar riff. It hits all the right buttons and fires on all cylinders.

Not into all that craziness? Chill out in your house. A big plot of land that you can truly call your own. Floating in the sky. By far the deepest and most robust housing system in an MMO to date. (wow im going to go over the character cap at this rate). Feeling bored? Buy a giant floating rock formation for a little jumping puzzle action with some rewards at the end for your trouble. Feeling lonely? Make your house public so anyone can see the abode you have created! Scared of strangers? Make it private and have a select few neighbors to see your creation. This and tons of other tradeskill bonuses and other things make it obvious why it was a selling point for the game.

I would now like to talk about that first dungeon. I played a lot of World of Warcraft. I raided, I dungeoned. I had some of the best gear. I come from a solid background of PvE in MMOs, having tried most of them in recent years. I've never seen its like, and that's saying something. I was transported back to my first time in Wrath of the Lich King doing Ulduar for the first time. I was in Ventrillo with the tank and the three dps in our group (the healer was a random who turned out to be a hardcore raider from back in Vanilla WoW). For those of you unfamiliar with the lingo, do some reading. I had already heard these dungeons were hard (dying from trash, tough mechanics, etc.). I was prepared for a challenge. I was not disappointed. We died on the first pull. Then the second. Then the third. All the while, I'm grinning ear to ear. The feeling was awesome. After figuring out what we did wrong we got to the first boss. Thankfully, one of us had read-up on/done the fight already so we went in knowing what was going to happen. Now, as everyone knows, knowing whats about to happen and being ready for it are to different things. It took us an hour,(An HOUR), to beat the FIRST boss of the FIRST dungeon. The last time it took me an hour to do anything in an MMO was before I even knew the touch of a woman (well before it actually...Moving on). Needless to say I was as giddy as a kid on Christmas. In the end, we couldn't finish the dungeon(othe obligations got in the way, as if there are any) and I DIDN'T EVEN CARE! It was that much fun. It's all uphill from there.

If this sounds like you kind of game, strap in cupcake. You're in for one hell of a ride. See you on Nexus.

Due to very open-minded AddOn-politics, there's tons of options to customize and improve the games' clunky UI.

Easily the best mmo in the market.
A game full of quality options, with a great combat system and highly polished, by a Dev team that looks they know what they are doing.
Dungeons and Raids are a masterpiece and alongside adventures, shiphands, zone events, world bosses, paths etc are great ways to enjoy PvE. Warplots are a great addition to PvP while arenas and BG's are very well made.

One of the most important things is the promise of the monthly content updates. Dungeons, Raids, Zones, BG's Arenas, Adventures etc will be added every month.
For ppl who they dont know it yet, there is CREDD, a system to pay your sub with gold (like EvE PLEX system).
Last one is Guilds and group play. This is at last a mmo who really promotes this play style in every aspect of the game and it was missed for many years from mmo.s.

Sprinting, its balanced, effective as a move boost and also helps with travel and has a decent enough regen to make it feel useful but not op. The story, being a new, non lore defined game they got to make their own, they put in interesting characters that you don't look too deeply into and are straight to it, because lets be honest, who reads quest logs unless you're lost. Now, the action combat is great, by level 10 i am switching skills and rotating spells when needed to beat plain old mobs and a 2 man quest boss? You're done mate, its a challenge, i cannot wait for 5 man instances. The graphics have a nice feel to them, they feel familar, as what i would call wow meets borderlands styling.
Honestly, if you are like me and tired of wow a long time ago and have been looking for an interesting mmo with a great feel to it but a challenging enough gameplay to keep you interested.

You barely even notice hitting 50.

I think that is where a lot of the negative reviews come from. Carbine made it pretty damn clear during development that Wildstar was all about the Endgame, the 'Elder game' as they call it. SWToR had an amazing storyline for levelling but the game died as soon as you hit level cap. Your SPOUSE! The one you choose to marry (if you choose to marry) in your personal story line in SWToR outright REFUSED to talk to you after you finished all the story quest stuff. It felt so dead, so obviously fake. All immersion and desire to play left as you realised you'd done everything there was to do in the game, or at least everything that mattered.

ESO is similar, really strong story line for levelling, same with GW2, and here is the thing, all of these games are a joke compared to WoW even though WoW has the most boring levelling of any game I have ever played which is saying something because that includes Lineage 2. What WoW does have though is Endgame. Lots of it. Endless, endless Endgame.

This is where Wildstar shines, not only does it shine in comparison to every other MMO released in the past 3 years it also outshines the grand daddy of them all. WoW.

It is WoW's endgame that gives it longevity and player retention.

It is Wildstars Elder Game that will give it the same.

My recommendation to everyone out there interested in this game is, be prepared to grind a bit to get to the juicy stuff. Moreover - be prepared to work hard to get into a good guild - this is the most important point, you won't enjoy the Elder Game if you try to solo it - that just isn't the point of an MMO (unless its SWToR or GW2 or ESO - basically all games that should not be MMO's), if you want a solo experience go play Skyrim.

First the quests are bland, that is true. If that is a deal breaker then this MMO is not for you. Personally I don't really care. If I wanted to read a well crafted story I would you know, read a book. For me every other aspect of this game is so well done and so much fun I don't mind at all.

The other complaint is the art style. This is a love it or leave it issue it seems. I love the art style. I've read some people say it's like playing a Pixar kids game and I can see that a little bit. But to me the art style is more reminiscent of a three dimensional Space Ace or Dragon's Lair.

This game is simply fun, challenging, funny, complete and damn near perfect.

But for those of us who love mmos, love the questing, the exploring, the crafting and all that an mmo can offer the developers at Carbine have created a wonderful game that they've obviously poured their hearts into.

The dedication of the developers is evident not just in the game however, but also in their direct and honest interaction with the community. The folks at Carbine have reset the standard when it comes to community involvement. When there are problems they own up to them and work diligently to get them fixed as quickly as possible and update the players every step of the way.

Launch for me was the smoothest I've ever seen in an mmo. That being said those who chose pvp servers were faced with incredible queue times due to limited available realms and there were a handful of account and login issues. However before headstart had even finished the devs had worked out patches to address the major issues and were ready to roll out free server transfers to ease the queue issues while also bringing up multiple new servers to handle the additional load. And that's what matters, every game will have bugs and other issues, it's how they're addressed that matters to me most and Carbine has proven time and again that they want to make this the best game experience possible. I hope to be playing this for as long if not longer than my time in WoW. I think I've found my new gaming home.

Wildstar is a game of substance that requires effort, but at the same time is very rewarding and plain FUN. Whilst the game starts off easy, it turns up the difficulty slowly. I honestly can't think of an MMO that has ever challenged me this much.

The substance of Wildstar isn't limited to combat though. There are truck loads of lore and story, but it doesn't get served up on a platter. You must find lore books and journals and read. The zones are chock full of easter eggs and the sheer verticality of many of the zones are very impressive. The questing system bombards you with quests and challenges - so much so that you need to learn to control what you want to do and how your want to do it. There are loads of instanced PVE group content as well and a very substantial end game - with lots more also to be released on an montly basis.

Wildstar is probably not for the ADD generation. If you don't pay attention, you won't have a clue what's going on and you will pretty soon find yourself running into a brick wall. But for gamers that love substance and deep games with loads of content and incredibly fun mechanics, Wildstar is absolute GOLD.

The most refreshing mmo since the launch of wow all those years ago. The action combat system and telegraphs add to the genre. The housing system really is slick and interesting.

I've been looking for a new MMO for a while now after becoming completely bored of WoW. For me, this game is it. It looks great, sure it's cartoony but I actually prefer that over uber realistic graphics. The world is vibrant, the combat intense and fast paced, the voice acting superb. There is so much to do it will keep me entertained for a long time. Quality game.

Best themepark currently available. Original and fun world, dynamic combats. Character customization is pretty good (play style and cosmetic). Economic system UI could be improved (auction house + broker), but it's working fine. Easy to play, hard to master. Love the humour and art works.

    Questing is actually fun.

Taking a break from League of Legends, WildStar fills in the time I freed up. The game has one of the best crafting systems ever. The lore is funny and they have adorable races like the Aurins and Lopps.

Wildstar is a really great game. It did not reinvent the wheel, but really outmatch any other MMO's I have played. The telegraph did a HUGE different in the playstyle, making the combat and mechanics far better than WoW for example.

Story has been a lot of fun, comedy is all over the place. There is a lot to do, from adventures, to dungeons, to pvp, to dailies or housing. Everything

Everything is customizable and I like there is many different means to aquire stuff. Money of course, but also crafting vouchers, elder points, renown etc.
Those are all different means to aquire loot, mounts, costumizatons etc.

Although the game still have a few bugs, some of which can be irritating at time, but it has so much to offer that it fully compensate for its flaws. NCSOFT also promises a lot of content regularly, and the strain patch is an excellent example of this.

The overall look and humor of this game make it stand out and definitely deserve a look.
Devs are listening, and its true.

Wildstar shares the creators of Vanilla WOW and offers a new spin on a traditional MMO. With the action packed combat, extensive housing, PVP warplots, arenas, dungeons and unbelievable hard 20-40 man raids this game has a lot to offer for those who a not happy with modern tumbled down MMOs. 10/10

If you are unsure you can also grab a free 7 day pass from a friend and try it out. You decide. Great game! Thanks Carbine you did awesome! Expand

WildStar does a good job of taking MMO staples and making them fresh again. From combat to questing, dungeons, raids and housing they have put their spin on traditional conventions and IMO, it feels very fresh and fun.

Find a friend who has purchased the game and see if they have an extra 7-day guest pass for you, and play up to level 15 to decide if you like it. For me, it's a blast.

Incredibly fun, full feature MMORPG. Most fun since WoW launched. It has some bugs and glitches, but that's to be expected. Given a 9 instead of 10 due to the lackluster UI and memory leaks.

When dungeon boss fights are the equivalent of a very well designed raid encounter you know you are onto a great game. The amount of co-ordination required, the fact that it is not forgiving, how interesting and paced the battle is, make me want more even after the third death.

This game makes me want more, and I would recommend everyone try it out

This game is probably the best MMORPG since WoW:BC. I have played WoW from vanilla to cataclysm, FF14ARR, GW2, Tera, and many other free mmorpgs. And most of them got REALLY dull. WoW was the best one, but it became TOO casual for my taste.

    Pros:
This game has a lot of content, and I mean A LOT. There is something for everyone, whether it be questing, choosing a specific path, working on housing, professions, etc. I have not gone to end game yet, so I can't comment on that.. but from the dungeons I've done, I can see a fun and exciting challenge awaiting.

    Cons:
Of course, not many games ever had the perfect launch... not even WoW. Server queues were pretty bad at the start, but only because EVERYONE was trying to get into a specific one (they made a few more realms to help resolve this issue). My BIGGEST complaint will have to be some of the sloppy UI. The questing system is a bit hectic, and not as compartmentalized as some of the other MMOs. I'm sure they'll fix it and make it better, just as WoW did... and for now Addons help with this problem. Another con people might have is the art style (a bit cartoonish), but the graphics are nice. If you can get over the cartoonish artstyle, this game is great.

TL;DR: This game is amazing in terms of content, gameplay, and game mechanics. Cons are sloppy UI and questing system, however just like any start of an MMO, give it time to be refined. Definitely a game made to last.

Great game. Skill shot style abilities and a fleshed out talent tree are what shines the most to me. Buggy at times but provides a lot more than any other MMO has at launch.

The game works through "telegraph" abilities, visisble to everyone through coloured patches on the ground. Abilities aren't targeted at players or NPCs, they are aimed at an Area of Effect and player input determines a hit or miss. The AI uses the same system and let's players use the dodge system to full effect. Most interesting perhaps is how healing uses the same system, players (DPS especially) need to be area of where their healer is dumping the heals, since he can't run around after every player. This system is not only unique, it makes the gameplay intensive, immersive en actually quite hard.

Hard? Yeah, this game is hard. Adventures and dungeons will see your group wipe. Over and over and over again. New tactics, new mechanics and fights that are utterly unforgiving. For the experienced MMO gamer who's been pampered with dumbed down content this will come as a shock at first but with elation secondly. You cannot cruise through this game on auto pilot, not even while questing.

There's the occasional bug, but nothing a few patches aren't going to solve. But you get a fresh and unique MMORPG which is hard as nails and filled with every kind of content you'd want. Easily the best MMORPG released since WoW saw the light of day.

    1) It is a nice visual style
    2) An unusual approach to game mechanics (the first in my mind working, non target system)
    3) Interesting levlling
    4) The quintessence of all that, for what we love Wow dungeons and raids( +a lot of new)
    5) Perfect game, pluses which can enumerate a very long time.

Wow, was not expecting an mmo this good. Thought it might be a quirky diversion but this is a much better game than anything released since WoW in 2005. Probably will appeal to the hardcore crowd, but I mean hardcore as a mindset, not just raiders. Its pvp is a heck of alotta fun, but all I'd ever hear about was 1%, blah, blah, blah, raiding, 1%, and so on.

Carbine never was set to reinvent the wheel. But they put a nice set of custom rims on their vehicle. And then they strapped the whole thing on a space shuttle and send it into space.

For those burnt out on WOW's content, WildStar is easy to endorse. Immediately familiar to anyone who's visited Azeroth and with enough new twists on the tried-and-tested theme park formula, Carbine's game is so overflowing with stuff to do that it's certainly justified in asking for a subscription - even if less people seem prepared to sign up to one.

Wildstar banks on hardcore raid and instance difficulty as well as its excellently implemented "dancing" real time combat mechanic to offer something significantly new and fresh to the MMORPG scene. Low server population and annoying hints of a "Pay To Win More" model hold it back in certain areas, but it has all the potential of becoming a well established and much loved setting for years to come.
