Oct 29, 2014Carbine never was set to reinvent the wheel. But they put a nice set of custom rims on their vehicle. And then they strapped the whole thing on a space shuttle and send it into space.
-
Sep 25, 2014It may seem crazy to ask players to pay a subscription fee in the growing field of free-to-play MMOs, but if you ask me, WildStar is worth the price of entry.
-
Sep 23, 2014Instead of brainstorming about fun things and pulling a few ideas out of a hat, the developers seem to have taken the entire hat, created an MMO around it, and also given you the option to dye and customize the hat. I imagine this feeling will lessen when I reach the endgame, but that's a whole new kettle of worms.

Sep 4, 2014WildStar is a fresh and bold MMORPG that succeeds in taking a risk by combining exaggerated science fiction and humor, ultimately being highly rewarding for players. The extensive amount of content and customization available to players makes WildStar one of the best MMORPG releases in years.
-
Aug 14, 2014WildStar is made for the players. Any decision in the design is created with the question in mind: “Is this fun to do?” The answer is almost always: yes! The fact that we saw a lot of elements elsewhere earlier does not affect the ubiquitous qualities, humor and sheer fun that we experienced in each session. This is one of those rare subscription-based MMO’s that is worth its subscription.
-
Aug 4, 2014I keep finding more and more things to do and work towards in Wildstar that I sometimes find myself torn by what to focus on next.
-
Jul 12, 2014Wildstar is probably the best and most complete MMO that has come out in years.
-
Jun 28, 2014Its future is uncertain, but totally justifies the initial cost. If you like the genre and the style, you will love Wildstar.
-
Jun 25, 2014If you’re a fan of MMOs but had stopped playing because they were starting to get a little stale, then WildStar might be the game to rekindle that love.
-
Jun 10, 2014Though no MMO can be all things to all people, WildStar is impressively fully-featured for a launch game and should keep most players busy for a good long while.
-
Jun 26, 2014Full of quality content that will take months to complete, Wildstar does a lot of things in the right way for a MMO. PVE, PVP, housing, crafting, raids, dungeons... it's all here and at a high level of execution.
-
Jun 12, 2014Clever questing and a stand-out combat system make for an entertaining MMO that's as large as it is full of character.
-
Jun 16, 2014Wildstar isn’t an innovative MMO and doesn't offer any new thing for players. But, Wildstar can do its job properly. Massive amounts of content, satisfying difficulty level and dynamic combat system… These are just a few examples. If you want more, Nexus is calling you.
-
Jun 26, 2014While launch bugs and a few lackluster mechanics mildly restrain WildStar, they’re isolated pockets in a colorful sea of creativity and personality. WildStar is loud, bright, and raucous, and if that style doesn’t click with you than WildStar probably won’t either, but it’s also a deep and open experience that will undoubtedly return as much as you care to put into it.
-
Jun 30, 2014WildStar is a remarkably funny and action packed MMO that oozes with personality. Though many features aren't exactly groundbreaking, WildStar manages to build on many tried and true MMO elements. A wealth of features tailored to both casual and hardcore players ensure an enjoyable experience for all.
-
Jun 16, 2014If you like classic online RPGs, battles full of action and weird humor, you can't go wrong with this one.
-
CD-ActionAug 25, 2014Eyes with dark circles around them, irregular meals, cat looking at me reproachfully. For the last couple of weeks I’ve spent every spare moment on Nexus, where I kill, craft and have a blast enjoying a very pleasant combat and delightful visuals. [08/2014, p.46]
-
Aug 22, 2014All in all WildStar is a fantastic and strong entry in the MMO market.
-
Aug 19, 2014WildStar was announced as a hardocore MMORPG that would offer a new quality to the fans of the genre. Most of these promises have been kept. Except for some technical errors, the game looks solid and offers a great, dynamic combat system which effectively doubles the fun. Given that this is only the beginning of the development of this new MMO, we are dealing with a highly promising production.
-
Aug 6, 2014Wildstar has everything that a new MMO needs. Except for the outdated monthly fee.
-
Jul 16, 2014Everything that had made World of Warcraft a success can be found in Wildstar as well. Fortunately, the game - thanks to its cartoonish sci-fi western appearance, active combat system and humor - has its own identity. For newcomers to the genre Wildstar is ideal, but for MMO veterans Wildstar has plenty to offer too.
-
Jul 2, 2014This is a remarkable debut of Carbine Studios. With a mixture of well-known elements and fresh ingredients you feel right at home, but keep getting surprised from beginning to end. It has its occasional downer but in the end this is one of the freshest MMOs in years.
-
Jul 1, 2014WildStar is one of the brightest and well crafted MMORPG came out in the last few years, and probably the most complete in terms of features and contents. There are a lot of stuff to do, monsters to kill and houses to build, for both casual and hardcore players.
-
Jun 20, 2014WildStar is a fantastic MMORPG with strong gameplay and a lot of content from its main start. If you want a good PvE game, you got it. And if you want an epic PvP, you got it too. It has colorful graphics, an amazing housing system and a hilarious argument.
-
Jun 19, 2014If you've never tried an MMO, Wildstar may be the game to get its hooks in to you. If you're a veteran, I have a strong feeling that you will like what is on offer.
-
Jun 19, 2014A great MMO with loads of content from the very beginning. The subscription model might be a hurdle for some players, but at least it offers the possibility of paying for it with making money within the game. We need to wait and see if it receives enough support from the community and developers, but the starting point is very promising.
-
Jun 12, 2014Coming out of nowhere for someone not addicted to MMORPG, Wildstar is the antithesis of The Elder Scrolls online. No big IP to sell it, but strong gameplay, a dynamic combat system, colorful graphics and massive content right at the launch. PvE, PvP, battlefields, housing: enough to please everybody and every skill level. Taken individually, those elements are nothing revolutionary, but we could argue that the game looks a bit classic. Overall the game offers a consistent and coherent package which is fun to play, for now and for a long time.
-
Games Master UKJul 29, 2014Takes the tried and tested genre formula and runs with it into new territories. [Sept 2014, p.64]
-
Jul 4, 2014It may not do a whole lot new, but what it does is done so with aplomb and grace. WildStar is at once similar to and unlike any other game in the market. It pulls from worlds gone by, while forging new mechanics all its own.
-
Jun 30, 2014Unique Sci Fi fun.
-
Oct 20, 2014Wildstar banks on hardcore raid and instance difficulty as well as its excellently implemented "dancing" real time combat mechanic to offer something significantly new and fresh to the MMORPG scene. Low server population and annoying hints of a "Pay To Win More" model hold it back in certain areas, but it has all the potential of becoming a well established and much loved setting for years to come.
-
Aug 26, 2014Humoristic, self-aware and very polished MMO from Carbine. Fast-paced combat feels great, and the content gets harder and harder as the game goes along. End-game content can be a bit too hard to get access to, and the grind a bit too long.
-
Aug 18, 2014An excellent online game that works from the very beginning and that is entertaining even though it brings no revolution. If you are serious about a mix of sci-fi, fantasy and a hint of Monty Python's humour here and there, you may feel free to enter into Wildstar.
-
Aug 7, 2014When it's not broken for local players, WildStar is an assured and busy sci-fi MMO that will win over players with its underdog pluck and aesthetic charm.
-
Aug 6, 2014Wildstar has three main features to differentiate itself in the crowded MMORPG market: accessibility, mobility and a great sense of humor.
-
games(TM)Jul 19, 2014While WildStar might not be nearly as 'big' or brash as it would like to think it is, the beauty of potential is that one day it may well end up that way. [Issue#150, p.109]
-
Jul 17, 2014It's slow to start, but when WildStar finally kicks into high gear it throws a ton of content at you.
-
Jul 7, 2014With the promise of regular content updates, Carbine's opus has the potential to achieve great things, but whether it realizes this potential largely depends on its success in amassing a community. But for now, WildStar is a massive multiplayer online game done right, blending the traditional with forward-thinking combat, high production values and an engaging world that begs exploration.
-
Jul 2, 2014With a steady stream of content planned, a solid framework for housing, and a commitment to hardcore seriousness and silly humor, WildStar is more than the sum of its parts, and every MMO player should at least give a fair shake.
-
Jun 30, 2014For your money, however, this is the best new MMOG since Guild Wars 2 and arguably the most feature complete an MMOG has ever been on launch.
-
Jun 23, 2014WildStar offers a very complete set of features, all ready to compete with the king of MMOs, World of Warcraft.
-
Jun 19, 2014It's not a progressive MMO that moves the genre forward. Instead it's well-balanced, polished, highly entertaining and brimming with variety.
-
Jun 13, 2014It is hard to find a bigger meaning in Wildstar. The mechanics are pretty basic, and a lot of the content is hand to on a silver plate. But together with some friends, Wildstar is both a entertaining and rewarding MMO. And the colorful graphics make it joyful to look at.
-
Jun 5, 2014After 7 years of development, Wildstar is finally here and it's really impressive in terms of content, gameplay and personality, even if its art design will certainly divide the gamers. All MMO fans should try it anyway.
-
Sep 8, 2014I found WildStar to be both a solid foundation of tried-and-true methods and an all-too familiar retread. If you've finally grown tired of WoW and want another hardcore MMO, this is it -- but everyone else may want to wait for a free trial period.
-
Jul 25, 2014A lot of Wildstar’s content draws from all of the MMOs that have come before it, but this outlandish dedication to fun is its own. It’s unashamed to be a delightfully cheesy animated space adventure.
-
Oct 28, 2014For those burnt out on WOW's content, WildStar is easy to endorse. Immediately familiar to anyone who's visited Azeroth and with enough new twists on the tried-and-tested theme park formula, Carbine's game is so overflowing with stuff to do that it's certainly justified in asking for a subscription - even if less people seem prepared to sign up to one.
-
Jul 10, 2014WildStar is not afraid of borrowing elements from other MMOs, as it has the right attitude and personality to stand out from the rest. It is a colorful and explosive blend that may not revolutionize the genre but certainly refreshes it.
-
Jul 7, 2014I've only experienced a mere fraction of what's available in the game. This is almost always true for MMOs, but Wildstar manages that sense of an unending sea of content without much of it feeling like unnecessary padding.
-
Jul 7, 2014WildStar stumbles on a thin line between being awesome and mediocre. Combat is fun, dungeons are hard, bosses are unique, crafting is good and the art style is all around excellent. However, the extremely sharp difficulty, the horrible pacing of quests and the shallow elitist mentality made up by the hardcore niche is leading to basically ruin all the good there is in a sincerely fun MMORPG.
-
Jun 26, 2014Profuse scatterings of collectibles and items, each object labeled with an icon that urges you to interact with it, ensure you have lots of stuff to do, but it's undeniable busywork: interaction for the sake of interaction.
-
Jul 3, 2014Wildstar, which has very little sense of identity, which has very little pull, which feels like a collection of features, which has a subscription fee, was a relic as soon as it was released. And I’m afraid one of the most trenchant facts about it is one of the worst things you could say about any MMO: it’s going to be easy to stop playing.
