The best MMORPG for long long time. I played the Openbeta and the Headstart (Level 37) and say this game roxxs.

Combat system is +++++++++. Best Combat System ever in a MMORPG!
    Housing is ultra Nice
    Dungeons are very funny

10/10! Carbine = Ex Blizzard world of Warcraft developer
One feels that here the old Blizzard quality is available

I tend to play MMO’s as a drifter: roll in, pick up some quests, do some, skip others, get distracted en route to the next one. I rarely read quests texts and just go where the arrow points and hit what’s marked for me by the quest tracker. I don’t care about completing anything unless I have to do.

I get ganked. Return the favor. Help out a /zone request, get in a random raid trying for a world boss achievement. Stand around doing nothing, enjoying music and the general sound stage of the location, then veer off for a spot of resource gathering. Queue a battleground on a whim, then leave to take naked pics on a mountain.

I love to play the auction house, especially in a game where everyone’s new, with some selling stuff below vendor price. Get rich. Spent a ton on vanity (it’s all vanity, in any case, ask my buddy Marcus Tullius). I love to help out randoms, or choose to watch them gain a repair bill – random kindness is random.

I love fast, fast combat with a careful selection of skills in my bar, with constant repositioning and aiming and a nice spray of loot for my troubles.

And I’m up for getting my ass handed in any dungeon a couple of times, to bask in the pay-off of eternal, virtual and meaningless (but highly satisfying) glory. Wipes fill me with glee and determination.

I love messy world pvp - Aurins. Must. Die.

    Wildstar is my game.

Wildstar is not trying to be revolutionary as an MMO, instead delivering a polished, fun and quiet complex game for any player type to enjoy. Movement is fluid, the control easy to understand, crafting is complex but fun, lots of exploration is possible and combat is outright fun and challenging.

When dungeon boss fights are the equivalent of a very well designed raid encounter you know you are onto a great game. The amount of co-ordination required, the fact that it is not forgiving, how interesting and paced the battle is, make me want more even after the third death.

This game makes me want more, and I would recommend everyone try it out

At level 14 you get your own house which is a really nice feature, giving you more rested XP, buffs and the ability to place any type of plots to help your crafting and what not.
Adventures start at level 15 and is a really nice experience, the ability to pick the path you want and see how the story plays out is really quite enjoyable, at 20 you gain access to your first dungeon which will be more of a challenge.
The environments are just amazing, each one is different with its own theme and enemies to fit, loads of variation on NPCs and interesting areas to explore.
There are so many things in this game that are just make it the best MMO out there, from what I've just mentioned to the combat that is completely reliant on your skill to aim, hard enemies, dungeons and having to survive by actually dodging stuff.
I play MMOs mainly for the endgame content and this one got so much of it right off the bat, I am going to be level 50 today or tomorrow and can't wait to start building my character more.
Always dread questing but this game makes it fun, the only bad thing I have to say about it is that there are a bit too many kill and fetchquests which can make things tedious now and then but all in all I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new MMO.

Wildstar has so much to offer, Its Action Style gameplay gives you so much freedom, the skill tree lets you choice your own path, it has so much room for customization. The spells and abilities are simple to use with lots of options to play the way you want, while still being an individual player unlike any other in the game. No need for rotations, find attacks you like and just jump in, do massive damage along others of the same class and you will most likely be unique in the way you look as a character and the way you play, while still being a powerful useful player.

This game is a must buy, i jumped into the game with the idea that i need to hit the level cap as soon as i can, when i got into the game it was so amazing, so much to do and see, the game felt huge. I ended up spending 5 days in game leveling to the level cap. Most MMOs i can hit the level cap in no more than 2 days of grinding. The warplot 40v40 pvp, the housing plots, the 40v40 raids, the dungeon and raids actually take skill over gear. If you dont play this your missing out, Wildstar is going to dethrone WoW.

Due to very open-minded AddOn-politics, there's tons of options to customize and improve the games' clunky UI.
Sadly, there's still quite a few bugs in the game, especially with the endgame-encounters, which hopefully find their way onto Carbines toDo-list soon.

By far the best aspect of the game is the dungeons. Telegraphs make sure you're not wiping for an hour on the same boss. The fights are busy, but with telegraphs you know what you should have avoided. Complicated yes, but no one has an excuse. In the same vein, I'm glad votekick was included right out of the box.

Best MMO since WoW. I've played them all, one after another. GW2, Tera, Swtor, The Secret World, ESO etc... but none of them come close to the content and experience in this game. Not only is the PvP (Battlegrounds, Arenas) incredibly fun but the PvE content is challenging and rewarding. If you want a good MMO to play that has plenty of end-game content, look no further. 10/10

Then it gets boring... at times REALLY boring... but then you hit 35 and all of a sudden the personal story line kicks in and you no longer care about all the boring stuff you had to go through to get here, you are all of a sudden taken up by the mystery of the game and catapulted headlong at the elder game. You barely even notice hitting 50.

I think that is where a lot of the negative reviews come from. Carbine made it pretty damn clear during development that Wildstar was all about the Endgame, the 'Elder game' as they call it. SWToR had an amazing storyline for levelling but the game died as soon as you hit level cap. Your SPOUSE! The one you choose to marry (if you choose to marry) in your personal story line in SWToR outright REFUSED to talk to you after you finished all the story quest stuff. It felt so dead, so obviously fake. All immersion and desire to play left as you realised you'd done everything there was to do in the game, or at least everything that mattered.

ESO is similar, really strong story line for levelling, same with GW2, and here is the thing, all of these games are a joke compared to WoW even though WoW has the most boring levelling of any game I have ever played which is saying something because that includes Lineage 2. What WoW does have though is Endgame. Lots of it. Endless, endless Endgame.

This is where Wildstar shines, not only does it shine in comparison to every other MMO released in the past 3 years it also outshines the grand daddy of them all. WoW.

It is WoW's endgame that gives it longevity and player retention.

It is Wildstars Elder Game that will give it the same.

My recommendation to everyone out there interested in this game is, be prepared to grind a bit to get to the juicy stuff. Moreover - be prepared to work hard to get into a good guild - this is the most important point, you won't enjoy the Elder Game if you try to solo it - that just isn't the point of an MMO (unless its SWToR or GW2 or ESO - basically all games that should not be MMO's), if you want a solo experience go play Skyrim.

I've enjoyed Wildstar so much more than I would have guessed. All those years back, WoW was an MMO for people who don't play MMOs. Wildstar in turn is an MMO for people who are bored of MMOs. Sometimes you have to look behind to walk ahead; group content difficulty reminds vividly of WoW before Blizzard decided to remove difficulty from their pre-raid game.

Defining Ok, I really, really like this game" moment for me was when entire group full of scarred wow veterans felt natural, intuitive urge to go "WOO!" "YES!" " FUK YES!!" etc after killing last boss in an entry level dungeon.: D Been a long time since I've seen a 5 man dungeon where you actually have to do something to beat it. Difficult content is rewarding content.

The hard-to-define sense of adventure is very much present. World, zones feel alive and full of surprises. It is little unfortunate how first few hours of game feel quite uninspired in comparsion to what comes next. I almost dismissed the game after 2-4 hours. Wildstar really starts working it's magic around 10-20 hours.

First the quests are bland, that is true. If that is a deal breaker then this MMO is not for you. Personally I don't really care. If I wanted to read a well crafted story I would you know, read a book. For me every other aspect of this game is so well done and so much fun I don't mind at all.

The other complaint is the art style. This is a love it or leave it issue it seems. I love the art style. I've read some people say it's like playing a Pixar kids game and I can see that a little bit. But to me the art style is more reminiscent of a three dimensional Space Ace or Dragon's Lair.

This game is simply fun, challenging, funny, complete and damn near perfect.

Wildstar is spectacular. It's gorgeous, witty, endearing and unique in its setting but more importantly: it's unique in its approach to the MMORPG genre. That in itself makes the make noteworthy to all MMORPG fans out there.

The game works through "telegraph" abilities, visisble to everyone through coloured patches on the ground. Abilities aren't targeted at players or NPCs, they are aimed at an Area of Effect and player input determines a hit or miss. The AI uses the same system and let's players use the dodge system to full effect. Most interesting perhaps is how healing uses the same system, players (DPS especially) need to be area of where their healer is dumping the heals, since he can't run around after every player. This system is not only unique, it makes the gameplay intensive, immersive en actually quite hard.

Hard? Yeah, this game is hard. Adventures and dungeons will see your group wipe. Over and over and over again. New tactics, new mechanics and fights that are utterly unforgiving. For the experienced MMO gamer who's been pampered with dumbed down content this will come as a shock at first but with elation secondly. You cannot cruise through this game on auto pilot, not even while questing.

There's the occasional bug, but nothing a few patches aren't going to solve. But you get a fresh and unique MMORPG which is hard as nails and filled with every kind of content you'd want. Easily the best MMORPG released since WoW saw the light of day.

They know what they're doing and it shows. Rather than making yet another WoW clone, they took what really worked in WoW, ditched some of the annoyances, changed up the combat, and created a unique universe that may have a familiar art style, but also a very unique and magical feel. It's the first time I've felt that same sense of magic since the old days of WoW. To be honest, this is the game that I was hoping Star Wars: The Old Republic would be. A sci-fi MMO that gives you a seamless, vast open world and doesn't take itself too seriously.

The only other worthy competitor currently on the market is Final Fantasy XIV, but since it is more of a story-driven game and thus very different from WS or WoW, I don't think it should be compared to either of them. It has succeeded in its own way and caters to those who are turned off by WoW-style (cartoony, less story-driven) MMOs. In short, WildStar and FFXIV is where it's at.

The housing system is also amazing. Each player gets a house around level 15, and you can customize it in infinite ways, with very powerful tools to do so. There are hundreds if not thousands of items you can place in your house, and you can rotate them along 3 axes, scale them up or down, and place them exactly where you'd like.

For ppl who they dont know it yet, there is CREDD, a system to pay your sub with gold (like EvE PLEX system).

The combat is great and differs greatly from many other tab-targeting MMOs. The abilities feel fluid as does the combat in general, the PVP is actually based on skill (got to aim your shots), the raids are intense, warplots (you have to look that up), in-game physics give it a real world feel, the environments are equally interesting and differed in look, and the list goes on. This game does have the standard MMO type of questing though. Do NOT be mistaken though, all the quests are not these filler "kill 10 rats" quests either. The minority of quests are actually kill-fetch quests while the majority are actually quite enjoyable and interesting. The overall story in the game keeps you interested in the history of Nexus and the Eldan content provides amazing endgame. I have logged approximately 300 hours in this game during beta alone. I understand MMOs and understand what MMO fans want. If you've enjoyed WoW, Warhammer, SWTOR, (even ESO), Guild Wars 1 and 2, etc. etc. etc. I highly recommend you check Wildstar out for yourself. exploring, and especially end game content, pve and pvp.World of warcraft was because it launched in a time where there was no really a decent mmo around.World of warcraft was innovative and preety awesome for his time.Especially tbc and wotlk expansions was a true gem in a gamer's life.

But like every kindgom is time for world of warcraft's reign to come in an end. Many candidates tried in the past to take the throne from wow but no one succeeded.Every signle mmo after wow failed on at least one aspect.Guild wars 2 failed in end game content and having no raids, swtor failed on end game content too and lacking of good pvp,teso..well teso failed on many thing, tera, rift, the secret world. So many games that failed on taking the place of wow.And to be honest,is harder now to be the king in mmos cause now a game must present something really unique at gamer's.When wow arrived mmo gaming was still virgin on many aspects, was easier to succeed. And when i say succeed i dont mean only the numbers of subscitption. From the prespective of subription mmo will be always be king, but you cant measure the quality of gaming from the quantity of subscribers.Dont forget that farmville has over 100 million players:P,or justin bieber is selling more than james now.Does that making him a better artist?Of course not.

After a long, long time. After counteless tries of developers and after so many unsuccesful tries that gamers commit to find a good mmo except wow time has come.

Wildstar,is the next big thing,it succeeds where every other mmo failed. It does what wow does but better. Its not so innovative(gameplay is very innovative though with telegraphs) but does everything right.
Gameplay is magical, you can feel your play swinging his sword,or casting a spell, there is no time delay between your action and the response, everything is being executed smoothly.I was too skeptical about telegprahs before i played but its very very good, and useful. You know where the ability will strike, you have the time to avoid and decide in which area you will cast next ability, you can dodge but you must be careful because you cant dodge all the time(there is a meter that fills each time you cast 2 dodges in a row).Bosses are different EVERY SINGLE time.Because you know the tactic but each time the situations are changing cause of telegpraphs.

Lore is good, not something great or awesome, but good. You read books, you learn about the habbits of people in nexus, the conflict about exile and dominion, the secrets of eldan(a mysterious ancient race).

Questing is interesting, you have the usual quests of killing X number of bad soldiers but you also have path quests. There are 4 different paths and you can choose only one at the start.Path includes killing bad guys if you choose to be soldier, finding lore and investigating creatuers if you are scientist, explore mountains and valleys if you are explorer, building stations that gives buffs or building taxi stations if you are settler. Also each buff gives unique abilities, scientists for example can group summon,or make a portal to capital, settlers can summon a vending maching for repair etc or build a fire that gives buff.

The true aspect that wildstar shines though is end game content.Dungeons are very very challening, since dungeon one you will find with the hard way the pain of wiping and dungeons themselves teaches you how to beat them though wiping.I have never, ever played so challening NORMAL dungeons. In most mmos normal dungeons are a walk in the park, you even dont need to think what are you doing. Not in wildstar. In wildstar you must be focus 100%,have the right gear, use the interupts in time(sometimes to interupt an ability needs 2 persons and they must do it at the same time, otherwise you will fail in interupt and probably get killed). Also wildstar presents 20 man and 40 man(yes!)raiding.Pvp is crazy. You must be on your toes all the tme,you have to be very very careful, even an inch of an ability that drops right beside you can make the difference.Arenas,warplots,battleground.
    Wildstar has EVERYTHING.
Also, there is housing.Customize your personal, not only house, but your own land. You can decorate your house, make it small, big, funny, serious, like a rocket or like a fruit. You can plant seeds, you can build fences,or plant trees,or change the color of the sky.You can do everyhting you want.Really.

Wildstar is a game from gamers to gamers.Dont forget that carbine that made wildstar is infact 17 developers that were previously in vanilla wow.
    Give that game a chance.It really,really..but really..deserves this.
Most of all,it respects the intelligence of the gamer.
    It respects you.

WOW. That's all I can say..
This game has blown me out of the water, i have played every mmo, world of warcraft being the main one, with 190 days of game time logged that i can find. This game has it all though, it has the fluid motion and feel that actually makes you happy to travel, small ledges? jump over it, high ledge? double jump, no more walking around rocks like a peasant.

This game has it all though, it has the fluid motion and feel that actually makes you happy to travel, small ledges? jump over it, high ledge? double jump, no more walking around rocks like a peasant. Sprinting, its balanced, effective as a move boost and also helps with travel and has a decent enough regen to make it feel useful but not op. The story, being a new, non lore defined game they got to make their own, they put in interesting characters that you don't look too deeply into and are straight to it, because lets be honest, who reads quest logs unless you're lost. Now, the action combat is great, by level 10 i am switching skills and rotating spells when needed to beat plain old mobs and a 2 man quest boss? You're done mate, its a challenge, i cannot wait for 5 man instances. The graphics have a nice feel to them, they feel familar, as what i would call wow meets borderlands styling.
Honestly, if you are like me and tired of wow a long time ago and have been looking for an interesting mmo with a great feel to it but a challenging enough gameplay to keep you interested.

Though this game looked to me on twitch like "meh" and too "sci-fi", when you play it it is lot of fun, and the graphics are cool if you like cartoonish style. The fight system is amazing, plenty of lore stuff, paths are new features that enhance the gameplay, and characters are pretty customize-able. Definitely give it try.

Not only is the game fun to play, but it has by far and away the most end game content that a new MMO has launched with in years. This may be the first one in a long time where people are not packing up their bags in a month or two waiting for the developer to drop more content. Solid sub MMO, and a great developer behind them.

Wow, was not expecting an mmo this good. Thought it might be a quirky diversion but this is a much better game than anything released since WoW in 2005. Probably will appeal to the hardcore crowd, but I mean hardcore as a mindset, not just raiders. Its pvp is a heck of alotta fun, but all I'd ever hear about was 1%, blah, blah, blah, raiding, 1%, and so on.

WildStar brings a fresh gameplay to the MMO scene, graphics and animation are very cool, they invested a lot of effort in the soundtrack, and the fighting mechanics...damm this is how an MMO should be done!
At lvl 6 you can already start doing PVP! which is very competitive in this game and requires you to bring a lot of focus and dedication to the game!
I absolutely love how this game

The only struggle i had is at the beginning , too much information/new ui at once. Raids, dongeons, adventures, housing, custom mount, arenas, bgs, 40vs40 warplots.

For those burnt out on WOW's content, WildStar is easy to endorse. Immediately familiar to anyone who's visited Azeroth and with enough new twists on the tried-and-tested theme park formula, Carbine's game is so overflowing with stuff to do that it's certainly justified in asking for a subscription - even if less people seem prepared to sign up to one.

Wildstar banks on hardcore raid and instance difficulty as well as its excellently implemented "dancing" real time combat mechanic to offer something significantly new and fresh to the MMORPG scene. Low server population and annoying hints of a "Pay To Win More" model hold it back in certain areas, but it has all the potential of becoming a well established and much loved setting for years to come.
